1.THE RETRIEVABILITY OF CEMENTATION TYPE IMPLANT ABUTMENT BY SURFACE TREATMENTS AND TYPES OF CEMENTS.
The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 1999;37(5):651-657
This study was performed to investigate the retrievability of the cementation type implant abutments. The cements used in this study were Cavitec, Tembond and Zine Phosphate Cement. The types of surface conditioning were no treatment, 50 microne sandblasting, 250 microne sandblasting, fine diamond finishing point and coarse diamond point. The retention of cast crown was measured with Instron University Testing Machine(Instron Engineering Co., U.S.A.) The results were as follows: 1. The Maximium retention was obtained by the group of Z.P.C. cementation and Coarse diamond point surface conditioning. 2. Z.P.C. shows maximum retention, and reduced in orders Tembond, Cavitec, No cement. 3. The value of retention of surface condition was highest in coarse diamond point, lowest in no tretment. 4. The similar results were obtained between fine diamond point and 50 microne sandblasting, coarse diamond point and 250 microne sandblasting. 5. The were no direct corelation between mechanical retetnion and cementation retention.

2.A Study about High Risk Group in Middle Cerebral Artery(MCA) Infarction.
Journal of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine 1999;10(4):636-641
To select high risk group in middle cerebral artery(MCA) infarction by comparing and analysing 10 risk factors in above patients, we analyzed 32 MCA infarcted patients and 30 case control groups retrospectively. Through the analysis of 10 risk factors(age, heart disease, blood pressure, total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL-cholesterol, glucose, smoking, r-GTP, past history : hypertension or cerebrovascular accident) in MCA infarction by the times patients arrieves in emergency room by scoring system made by author, MCA infarcted patients showed score about 1.4 in 24 cases(75.00%) among 32 MCA infarction patients, and in control group, score below 1.4 showed in 28 cases(93.33%) among 30 cases. By the scoring system made by author, the higher risk grouped patients could identified more easily in emergency department.

3.A Study on Serum Zinc Concentrations in Certain Dermatoses.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1979;17(3):187-201
The serologic testa for syphilis including VDRL and FTA-abs tests have been carried out in adult VISA applicants for emigration and bIood donors from February, 1977 to May, 1978. The results are summarized as followa: l. In 3,393 VISA applicants the reactive rate af VDRL test was 2.9%, and th biologic false positive rate of VDRL test was 5.1% using the FTA-abs test as the atandared. 2. VDRL test showed a positive rate of 2.3% in 6,220 blood donors. 3. The quantitative test of VDRL resulted in low titer belaw 1:4 in 93.9% of VDRL reactive VISA applicants. From the results it is clear that the prevalence of syphilis is grariually increasing recently compared to the late 1960s and early 1970s.

4.Values of Urine Cytology in the Diagnosis of Urothelial Carcinomas.
Korean Journal of Urology 1982;23(8):1062-1066
In order to determine its accuracy the authors conducted cytologic examination on patients found to have urothelial carcinoma by cystoscopy, histopathologic and radiological examinations at the Department of Urology, Catholic Medical College, from January 1971 to August 1981. The results were as follows: 1. Age distribution of the urothelial carcinomas is from 33 to 80 years age and the most frequent age group is 40 to 59 years age. The male: female ratio is 4.3:1. 2. Of the 32 patients, 4 cases (12.4%) were negative, 14 (43.8%) suspicious and 14 (43.8%) positive reports. 3. No significant correlations were found between the urine cytology and histologic grade, but the higher cytologic class had tendency to have the higher histologic grade. 4. In the aspect of the tumor size and cytology, large sized tumor had showed positive findings more frequently than that of, smaller one, but it showed high accuracy rate (77.8%) when small sized tumors were multiple.

7.Three Cases of Pseudoxanthoma Elasticum.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1974;12(2):55-59
Three cases of pseudoxanthoma elasticum are presented and the literatures are reviewed. Two cases were presented with the marked cutaneous manifestation of this condition and angioid streak. One case was presented with only the marked skin lesion of this condition on both axilla and neck. Typically involved skin was shown to be speckled with pea-sized yellowish numorous papules. Typical elastic tissue degeneration was found in the involved skin. No genetic background was discovered in the patients.

8.DNCB and NBT test in Patients with Atopic Dermatitis.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1975;13(2):85-93
The present study was undertaken to inveatigate whether contaet sensitivity was decreased or not in patients with atopic dermatitis, and to investigate phagocytic function of neutrophils in patients with atopic dermatitis. 1. Dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB), a compound which uniformly induce hypersensitivity in normal individuals, had been used in the preaent study to investigate cutaneous anergy in 16 patients with atopic dermatitis. Sensitizing does of DNCB (2,000 microgram) was applied and examined at 7th and 14th day for a spontaneous flare. In the absence of spontaneous flare, challenge dose (50microgram) was reapplied and examined. Seven of the 16 cases (43.8%.) had positive reaction to DNCB. These result showed decreased contact sensitivity in patients with atopic dermatitis, which suggested some defect in the cell-mediated immunity in patients with atopic dermatitis. 2. There were some evidence that susceptibility to certain infection was increased in patients with atopic dermatitis. For investigating killing function in phagoeytosis of neutrophils in patients with atopic dermatitis, nitroblue tetrazolium dye reduction (NBT) and stimalated NBT test had performed in 35 cases of atopic dermatitis and 20 cases of healthy control. 1) There was no significant difference in the mean percentage and absolute number of NBT positive neutrophils between whole group of atopic dermatitis (8. 4+4. 9%, 301.2+225.6) and control group (6. 9+2. 9%, 246.2+143. 8). 2) The mean percentage and absolute number of stmulated NBT poeitive neutrophils in whole group of atopic dermatitis (19.6+7.3%, 702. 1+377. 2) did not differ significantly from control group (22.7+5.3%, 812.2+382.2). 3) There was no significant difference in the mean value of NBT aad stimulated NBT test in comparing the mild groud, moderate group and severe group with control group. These resuIts suggested that killing function in phagocytosis of neutrophils in patients with atopic dermatitis was not impaired.

10.Irritation and Staining Reaction of the Skin to Anthralin in Psoriatic Patients.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(1):18-24
Both irritation and staining reaction of anthralin on the skin are the two most important problem of therapy. Irritation, such as erythema, edema and staining by p. lg anthralin ointment were studied with the chamber-testing technique in 21 psoriatic patients. We campared the skin reaction of short exposure time, such as 1 hour, 2 hours, and 3 hours with those of exposure of 24 hours through 3 days after application. The results were as follows: l. Incidence of erytherna reaction was 81.9% in exposure of 1 hour, 85.7%, in 2 hours, 90.5%, in 3 hours and 100% in exposure of 24 hours. Degree of erythema reaction was increased according to duration of application. 2. There were no edematous reactions in exposure of 1 hour or 2 hours, 9,5% in 3 hours and 28,6% of grade 1 reaction in 24 hours. 3. There was no staining reaction in exposure of 1 hour, 48% in 2 hours, 9.5%, in 3 hours and 71.4% in 24 hours. Degree of staining reaction elicited by short exposure time were all weaker than reaction caused by 24 hours exposure.
