1.An implant-supported removable partial denture on milled bars to compromise the inadequate treatment plan: a clinical report.
The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics 2010;2(2):58-60
Presurgical prosthetic treatment planning is critical for the success of the implant prosthesis. Inadequate treatment plan, due to insufficient discussion between prosthodontist, and surgeon, may result in poor prognosis. A 26-year-old male patient was referred for prosthodontic treatment after implant was placed in the area of teeth #17, 16, 22, 25 and 27, without adequate discussion nor the treatment planning between oral surgeon and prosthodontist. It was found that the patient had two hopeless teeth, and a severely resorbed alveolar ridge. Additional tooth extraction was needed and the type of definitive prosthesis was shifted from fixed type to removable one. Proper pre-surgical treatment planning is essential for the good prognosis. Implant-supported removable prosthesis on milled bars may be a useful treatment option in patients with incorrect angled placement on severely resorbed alveolar ridge.

3.Genetic association study of single nucleotide polymorphism in dentistry.
The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2011;49(4):341-345
Genetic association study has been progressed in medicine along with advance in genetic technology. It focused on the individual differences in genotype due to errors occurring during DNA duplication, which can cause vulnerability to specific diseases. Polymorphism defines the varieties in phenotype due to those genetic variations. Polymorphism due to change in one DNA base sequence is called as a Single Nucleotide Polymorphism. In the near future, the evaluation of relative risk to specific disease according to SNP will be essential part of fundamental of medicine for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Dental caries and periodontal diseases has been first subject to genetic association study in dentistry and broaden out to other areas like bone formation and resorption. This article presents the current state of genetic association study and its application to dentistry.

4.Malignant Fibrous Histiocytoma of Colon: A Case Report.
Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 2006;54(3):199-202
Gastrointestinal malignant fibrous histiocytomas (MFH) are very rare and only about 30 cases have been reported in the English literature, among which 20 cases were from colorectal MFHs. A small bowel MFH with intussusception has been the only reported case in the Korean medical literature. A 52-year-old male presented with complaints of recently developed and aggravated right upper abdominal pain. We present the CT appearance and the clinico-pathologic findings of his primary inflammatory malignant fibrous histiocytoma, which arose from the subserosal layer of the ascending colon with tumor infiltration in all the layers. The colon showed extensive hemorrhagic necrosis and repetitive multifocal microperforations with resultant panperitonitis.

6.An implant-supported removable partial denture for a patient with post-inflammatory scar contracture caused by burn complications: a clinical report.
The Journal of Advanced Prosthodontics 2012;4(1):57-59
The scars and contracture around the oral-facial region may cause difficulty in prosthodontic treatment to restore esthetics and function for the patients, who suffered severe burns. This article presents a technique that uses a fixed partial denture prepared with a conventional milling technique and an attachment to support anterior cantilever removable partial denture, thereby providing a more esthetically acceptable and functional result.

Localized nodular synovitis of the knee joint is a rare benign tumorous condition, and should be differentially diagnosed with pigmented villonodular synovitis. We report a case of localized nodular synovitis in the knee that was noted to have a pedicle and characteristic findings on MR image.

10.Immediate implant placement into extraction sites with periapical lesions in the esthetic zone: a case report.

The Journal of Korean Academy of Prosthodontics 2012;50(3):191-197
Esthetics is important in restoring maxillary anterior area. Alveolar bone resorption and loss of interdental papilla may be minimized by immediate implantation. Previous studies showed successful results with the immediate implantation in healthy extraction socket, while many of these studies objected the immediate implantation into extraction sites with periapical lesions. Recent studies, however, reported successful results of the immediate implantation into extraction sites with periapical lesions with careful debridement of extraction sockets and general medication of antibiotics prior to implantation. A 73-year-old female visited the department of Prosthodontics in oo University Dental Hospital with the chief complaint of fallen post-core and crown on left maxillary incisor. Although the incisor was with vertical root fracture and periapical lesion, the immediate implantation following the extraction of tooth was planned. Thorough socket debridement, irrigation with chlorhexidine, and tetracycline soaking were followed by immediate implantation. The general medication of antibiotics (Moxicle Tab.(R), 375 mg) was prescribed before and after the surgery. Immediate provisional restoration was delivered two days after the surgery, and the definitive metal-ceramic restoration was placed about six months later after reproducing the emergence profile from the provisional restoration. This case presents satisfying result esthetically and functionally upto two years after the placement of prosthesis with the harmonious gingival line and no loss of marginal bone.
