PURPOSE: For the production and evaluation of the tissue-equivalent phantom. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We used agarous gel and oil as a basic component of the mixture and added Tween 80 for the stabilization of phantoms. We did the test for homogeneity and measured T1 and T2 relexation times of each phantom tube. RESULTS: T1 relaxation time ranged from 642 to 2781 msec and T2 relaxation times from 42 to 157 msec. Each phantom was significantly different in T1 relaxation time and T2 relaxation time (p < .0001). CONCLUSION: Tissue equivalent phantom may provide good information on the optimal sequence before MR imaging of patients and may be valuable if it is used with the patients' MR imaging.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1999;40(6):1582-1590
The branch retinal vein occlusion is the second most common retinal vascular disease after diabetic retinopathy. Complications such as macular edema, retinal neovascularization, vitreous hemorrhage, epiretinal membrane may be associated. But, the retinal detachment may occur rarely in BRVO patients. We studied the clinical features of retinal detachment associated with branch retinal vein occlusion. We reviewed the medical records of 15 retinal detachment patients associated with branch retinal vein occlusion. Mean age was 54.7 years old and 10 patients(66.7%) were female. Hypertension was associated in 13cases(86.7%). The duration between the development of BRVO and the development of retinal detachment was shorter than 4 years in all cases and shorter than 2 years in 9 cases(60.0%). Retinal break was identified in 14 cases(93.3%), among which 13 cases(92.2%) were located inside the lesion of branch vein occlusion. The epiretinal membrane was frequently combined 8 cases(53.3%). The preoperative laser photocoagulation was done in 4 cases(26.7%). The primary surgical procedures included scleral buckling in 8 cases(53.3%), pars plana vitrectomy in 6 cases(40.0%), and scleral buckling with pars plana vitrectomy in 1 case(6.7%). Three cases(20.0%) required reoperations. The postoperative complications included the progression of cataract in 6 cases(40.0%), iatrogenic retinal tear in 3 cases(20.0%), epiretinal membrane in 2 cases(13.3%), and proliferative vitreoretinopathy in 1 case(6.7%). The anatomic retinal reattachment was achieved in 14 cases(93.5%) and the visual recovery in 11 cases(73.3%).

Korean Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 1995;15(3):563-569
Lymphangiomas are made up of multiple lymphatic channels lined by benign-appearing endothelial cells. The lesions can occur anywhere in the body but most commonly affect head, neck and axilla. It rarely involves the gastrointestinal tract and particularly lymphangioma of the colon is very rare. Histologically, it is classified three types as simple or capillary, cavernous, and cystic. We experienced three cases of cavernous lymphangioma of the ascending colon. Case 1, 56-year-old male, had lymphangioma accompanied by ulcerating cancer of the cecum. Case 2, 51-year-old female, had lymphangioma of cecum. Case 3, 41-year-old male had lymphangioma at ileocecal valve. All cases could be diagnosed by colonoscopic snare polypectomy.

Bone grafts are an integral and important aspect of craniofacial reconstruction. Rips, tibia, and iliac bone have traditionally used as donor site but each of these has various problems, however using to the calvarial bone as a donor site has several advantage. These are as follows; there are abundance of material, easy to reach the donor site through coronal incision, minimal pain of donor area, less functional inability, shorter hospitalization, no need of immobilization, hidden scar at donor site, no secondary deformity and appropriate curvature obtained properly selected. From March to December 1987, we experienced three cases of autogenous calvarial bone graft such as congenital saddle nose deformity, fibrous dysplasia on the right side frontal bone, and deviated nose. The results were very excellent without any significant complication. The detail technique of autogenous calvarial bone graft and its advantages compared with the traditional methods of bone grafts are discussed.
