Authore examined for the width, the trabecular pigment band and the iris process of the chamber angle in the non-glaucomatous eyes of the Korean people (total 86 eyes, among (them male 58 eyes, female 28 eyes, and ages of 7-67) by using the 3 mirror contact lens and slit-lamp (Goldmann 900). And these findings were evaluated with the age and the sex distribution. Also these preliminary data are now assisting in the study of pathologic findings of the chamber angle.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 2000;41(2):349-355
In 44 out of 218 cases of contact lens related infectious keratitis from 19 hospitals throughout the country, contact lenses or contact lens storge cases were cultured. Microorganism was detected in 40 cases[90.9%]. Two or more organisms were isolated in 31 cases[77.5%]. Pseudomonas was the most common organism isolated from contact lens or contact lens storage medium[31 out of 84, 45.2%], followed by Serratia[15 out of 84, 17.9%], fungi [4], and acanthamoeba[4]. Acanthamoeba was found only in one hospital. Antibiotic sensitivity test for isolated pseudomonas showed that 96%of cases was sensitive to ciprofloxacin and 88%to ceftazidime.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1998;39(7):1417-1426
Epidemiologic study of contact lens related infectious keratitis was performed in 19 hospitals which were located nation wide, Two hundred eighteen cases of contact lens related infectious keratitis(male 55 patients, female 163 patients) were diagnosed among 649 infectious keratitis patients between April 1995 and September 1997. Patients were mainly in twenties (54.6%) and residents of Seoul and Pusan(65.6%). Their major occupations were student(31.7%) and office worker(25.5%). Soft contact lens was involved in infectious corneal ulcer in 96.8% and disposable lens in 13.3%. Lenses were puchased at optical shop in most cases (72%). Unfortunately, 51.6% of patients was not aware of possible contact lens complication and 66.7% was not able to use contact lens properly due to improper education. Pseudomonas was isolated from corneal ulcer in 65.4% of cases and Serratia in 9%. This study reveals that contact lens related infectious keratitis can be devastation disease especially socially active age group, and proper education of both contact lens usage and proper lens dispense system should be needed.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1969;10(2):21-22
The authors observed clinically typical case of unilateral coloboma of the optic disc. This patient, 5 years old Korean boy, visited to our clinic with the chief complaints of visual disturbance and intermittant exotropia of left defecting eye. The optic disc was enlarged about 2.5 times of normal optic disc diameter excavated about 7.0 Diopters in depth. The vision of colombomatous left eye was 20/50(n.c.) but the cause of defective vision was not evaluated certainely whether it might be due to coloboma itself or slight posterior subcapsular opacity of the lens.

Journal of the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine 1998;9(2):317-322
BACKGROUND: The number of patients of doxylamine overdose has increased, but there were little clinical reports. The purpose of this study is review the patients of doxylamine overdose for aid clinical decision making of patients disposition. METHODS: We reviewed medical records of patients who ingested doxylamine succinate retrospectively from Jan. 1, 1996 to Dec. 31. 1996. Data that was recorded were followed: age, sex, psychiatric history, amounts of ingestion, time interval from ingestion to arrival to hospital, initial vital signs and symptoms, EKG, chest PA, Lab. findings, treatment, patients disposition, length of hospital stay, complication. RESULTS : 1) Total number of patients was ninety and average dosage of ingestion was 1062mg. 2) Tachycardia was the most frequent anticholinergic symptom(46%). 3) Routine lab. findings was not abnormal except one patient who was diagnosed as Rhabdomyolysis. 4) Gut decontamination was performed in patients who had arrived at hospital in 2-3 hours, and who had ingested large dose of drug. 5) Five patients were admitted to Psychiatric dept. and one patient was admitted to emergency dept. for treatment of rhabdomyolysis. 6) The mean duration of hospital stay was 6.5 hours. CONCLUSION: The patients who ingested overdose of doxylamine was managed safely in emergency department, but we should warn against the possibility of rhabdomyolysis.

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1994;29(7):1716-1720
Accompanying to the development of the knowledgment of mechanism and pathology of recurrent dislocation of the shoulder, accurate diagnostic tools to detect that pathology have been developed. During the period from May 1990 to May 1992, we treated 28 cases of recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder. Twenty-eight cases were examined with C.T. arthrography before the operation. Among the 28 cases, we identified the Bankart lesion in 20 cases by C.T. arthrography, and in 21 cases intraoperatively. We concluded that the C.T. arthrography is an accurate method for confirming the clinical diagnosis of recurrent dislocation of the shoulder and to be helpful in detecting the Bankart lesion and its severity or pathologic findings.

Journal of the Korean Ophthalmological Society 1999;40(9):2401-2410
This multi-center study was performed prospectively to evaluate the causative organisms and antibiotic sensitivity of isolates in bacterial keratitis from April 1995 to December 1998. Total number of infectious keratitis was 1002 cases. Among them,279 cases were confirmed with bacterial keratitis and 314 strains were identified. Major causative organisms of bacterial keratitis were Pseudomonas aeruginosa 121 strains (38.54%), coagulase negative staphylococcus (CNS) 34 strains (10.83%), Streptococcus pneumoniae 19 strains (6.81%), Staphylococcus aureus 18 strains (5.73%), and Serratia marscence 16 strains (5.10%). P.aeruginosa was highly sensitive to ciprofloxacin, ceftazidime, piperacillin, cefoperazone, imipenem, tobramicin, and gentamycin. Coagulase negative streptococcus showed high sensitivity to vancomycin, teicoplanin, clindamycin, and ciplofloxacin, but low sensitivity to penicillin and gentamycin. In conclusion, the choice of the effective antibiotics in the treatment of bacterial keratitis were essential to decrease resistant bacterial strains.
