Leiomyoma is one of the rarest solid tumor of the ovary. Approximately 50 cases have been published to date. However, most reported leiomyoma of the ovaries were small and rarely induced serious symptoms. We report a case of ovarian leiomyoma in 57-year-old woman which has been experienced in our haspital with brief review of literature.

3.True hermaphroditism: female internal genital organs in the scrotum.

True hermaphroditism is a condition in which both an ovary and a testis or a gonad with histological features of both (ovotestis) is present in same individual. We present a case of 16-year-old true hermaphroditism who had an ovotestis on both gonad and female internal organs, such as fimbria. fallopian tube, uterus in the left scrotum after bilateral scrotal exploration. The patient's sex was reassigned to the male according to sex of rearing and gender role and managed with removal of ovotestis and female internal organs, bilateral subcutaneous mastectomy.

7.A Radiological Study of Normal Wrist in Korean People

The wrist, or carpus, is a deformable anatomic entity composed of 8 small carpal bones (scaphoid, lunate, triquetrum, pisiform, hamate, capitate, trapezium and trapezoid) and the surrounding soft-tissue structures. We should get radiological knowledge of normal wrist in order to identify pathology of that. So we measured the several values on AP, PA and lateral roentgenograms of 228 normal wrist(male : 124 cases, femal: 104 cases). The following results were obtained: 1. Scapholunate gap : 1.4±0.5mm 2. Ulnar variance : 1.3 ±1.7mm, Positive variance … 59.7%, Neutral variance … 25.4% 3. Carpal height ratio : 0.543 ±0.078 4. Carpal ulner distance ratio : 0.32 ±0.04 5. 8.Significance of Preoperative Serum CA-125 and TPA Concentrations in Patients with Pelvic Tumors.

We measured serum levels of CA-125 and Tissue polypeptide antigen(TPA) in 135 patients with pelvic tumors(129 benign pelvic tumors and 6 malignant ovarian tumors) preoperatively. Each tumor marker was measured by immunoradiometric assay. Serum CA-125 levels of 35.0U/ml, 65.0U/ml and TPA levels of 80.0U/ml, 100.0U/ml were determined as cut-off values. 9.The Dose-Dependent Effects of Nitric Oxide on Human Sperm Cell Function.

This study was performed to determine the effects of nitric oxide on human sperm cell function. Semen samples were obtained from normal healthy volunteers. Motile spermatozoas collected by swim-up method were incubated up to 24 hours in Ham's F-10 medium supplemented with a various concentration of sodium nitroprusside (nitric oxide releasing agent). Sperm motility, hyperactivation, acrosome reaction rate, and acrosin activity were determined. The results are as follows; 1. 1mM of SNP resulted in a significant decrease in sperm motility (44.8%+/- 8.9%:78.1%+/-6.3%, and hyperactivation (10.4%+/-6.4%:477%+/-9.5%) after incubation for 3 hours compared with the control group (Ham's F-10 alone), but had no effect on acrosome reaction. 2. At 100muM SNP, sperm motility was reduced after incubation for 6 hours (54.8%+/- 3.2%) compared with that of the control group (82.7% +/- 8.9%), but hyperactivation and acrosome reaction were not affected. 3. However, a lower concentration (less than 101M) of SNP had no effect on sperm motility and hyperactivation for 8 hours of incubation but significantly decreased them when incubation periods were increased up to 24 hours compared with the control group. On the other hand, 1muM and l0muM SNP significantly increased the acrosome reaction rate in both acrosomal status (17.3%+/-5.2%,23.5%+/-4.7%, respectively) and acrosin activity (34.3muIU+/- 10.5muIU, 45.6muIU+/-5.6muIU, respectively) as compared with the control group (7.0%+/-4.0%, 9.5muIU+/-3.4muIU). These results indicate that SNP, NO releasing agent, has a dose-dependent effects on the sperm cell function. Therefore it may positively affect the fertilization by promoting acrosomal reaction at a lower concentration (less than 101M).

10.A Case of Cavernous Hemangioma in the Kidney.

Renal hemangioma is a rare, benign tumor, which usually causes unexplained painless gross hematuria with clots in the renal pelvis or ureter. It is generally venous origin but may be arterial and mixed venoarterial. Preoperative selective renal aniography may offer helpful diagnostic information but it is difficulty to distinguish it from malignant renal tumor. We reported here a case of renal cavernous hemangioma in a 31-year-old man.
