To investigate the protective effect of L-carnitine on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury in rat heart,all harvested isolated hearts were perfused on Langendorff apparatus with oxygenized K-H solution for 20 min. The hearts were then exposed to ischemia for 30 min. Following the ischemia the hearts were re-perfused with K-H solution for 120 min to serve as the control group A. Either 5 or 10 mmol/L of L-carnitine was added into the K-H solution for 20 min at the beginning of reperfusion to generate group B and group C, respectively. The derivatives of the intraventricular pressure curve (DP/DT), left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP), and coronary flux were monitored during the entire experiment. The levels of ATP, hepatin, malondialdehyde (MDA), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) in tissue, and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH), creatine phosphate kinase (CPK), malondialdehyde (MDA), and superoxide dismutase (SOD) concentration in the coronary efflux were all measured. Compared with the control group, the treatment with L-carnitine resulted in better results, i. e., higher DP/DTmax and LVDP. At the same time, ventricular fibrillation was reduced, and the levels of ATP, hepatin and SOD were all elevated. However, the concentrations of MDA, CPK and LDH were all reduced. In conclusion, L-carnitine has a protective effect on ischemia-reperfusion injury, which is partly due to its prevention of energy loss and its antioxidant activity.

Objective To understand the state of self-congruence in nurses and discuss their rela-tion with psychological health. Methods Self coasisteney and congruence scale (SCCS) and state-trait anxiety inventory (STAI)were used to test 216 nurses. Results The degree of self-congruence of nurses was relatively low,difference existed in self-congruence among nurses in different departments (P<0.05). Self-congruence was significantly related with state-trait anxiety(P<0.01). Conclusions Selective psy-chological intervention needs be given to some nurses to maintain their psychological health.

Objective To study the relationships of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and genetic polymorphisms of glutathione s-transferase P1 (GSTP1) with gastric cancer (GC). Methods The 98 patients with GC and 149 controls with normal finding at endoscopy were enrolled for this study. The rapid urease test (RUT), 13C- urea breath test (13C-UBT) and Giemsa staining of biopsy samples were used to check Hp infection. PCR-based restriction fragment length polymorphisms (PCR-RFLP) was used to detect GSTP1 genotype. Results The rate of Hp infection was higher in GC group than in control group (54.1% vs. 40.9%, x2 =4.11, P＜0. 05). The risk of GC would significantly increase in the GSTP1 homozygous mutant gene (MM) group with Hp infection (OR=5.44, 95%CI 1. 26-26. 79, x2=7.13, P＜0.05). Conclusions Hp infection and GSTP1 genetic polymorphisms are associated with gastric cancer risk in the elderly.

Objective:To evaluate the efficacy of Liangxue-Xiaofeng Decoction combined with acitretin A capsule in the treatment of psoriasis vulgaris. Methods:A total of 80 patients with psoriasis vulgaris from March 2015 to June 2019 in our hospital, who met the inclusion criteria, were divided into two groups according to the random number table method, 40 patients in each group. The control group was given acitretin A capsules on the basis of conventional western medicine treatment, and the study group was given Liangxue-Xiaofeng Decoction on the basis of the control group. Both groups were treated for 2 months and followed up for 6 months. The skin lesion area and Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) scores were performed before and after treatment. The levels of IL-8, IL-6 and TNF-α were detected by real time PCR amplification, and the levels of histone acetyltransferase (HATs) and histone deacetylase (HDACs) by ELISA. The adverse reactions and recurrence during the follow-up period were recorded and the clinical efficacywas evaluated. Results:The total effective rate of the study group was 82.5% (33/40) and that of the control group was 62.5% (25/40). The difference between the two groups was statistically significant ( χ2=4.012, P=0.045). After treatment, the PASI score of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( t=7.921, P<0.01), and the serum levels of IL-8, IL-6 and TNF-α were significantly lower than those in the control group ( t=12.749, 13.933, 10.856, all Ps<0.01); the activity of HATs [(35.03 ± 3.79) g/L vs. (29.26 ± 2.41) g/L, t=8.125] of the study group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P<0.01), and HDACs activity [(31.00 ± 2.71) g/L vs. (37.55 ± 3.08) g/L, t=10.098] of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( P<0.01). Conclusions:Acitretin A capsule combined with Liangxue-Xiaofeng Decoction can reduce the level of inflammatory cytokines in patients with psoriasis vulgaris, and prevent the disease progression. The mechanism may be related to the regulation of homeostasis balance in acetylation.

Objective:To explore the psychological factors influencing seasickness in different individuals, so as to provide guidelines for prevention and treatment of seasickness from psychological perspective. Methods: Medical undergraduate students (n=124) were subjected to the following tests before training on the sea: rod and frame apparatus, motion sickness history questionnaire, seasickness self-efficacy scale, body vigilance scale, EPQ, and state-trait anxiety inventory. The total number of valid questionnaires was 123. During sailing the seasickness state of students was assessed by Graybiel’s diagnostic criteria based on their seasickness symptoms and signs. Results: Among the 123 students 75 had seasickness and 48 did not have. Single factor analysis showed that motion sickness history and seasickness self-efficacy were statistically significant(P

BACKGROUND:Previous study has proved that implantation of the tissue-engineering bone with vascular bundles or sensory nerve tracts can promote bone formation, which may be related to the expression of sensory neuropeptide receptors. OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effect of implantation of tissue-engineered bone containing vascular bundles and sensory nerve tracts on the middle-and long-term expression of calcitonin gene-related peptide type Ⅰ receptor (CGRP1R) in the repair of rabbit large femoral defects. METHODS:Thirty-six New Zealand white rabbits were enrol ed and modeled into 1.5 cm femoral defects, and then randomized into three groups. Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) were subjected to osteoblastic induction for 7 days, and then seeded onto the β-calcium phosphate scaffold to construct the tissue-engineered scaffold.In sensory nerve group, the tissue-engineered scaffold was implanted into the defect region, and autologous sensory nerve bundles were implanted into the lateral groove of the tissue-engineered bone;in vascular bundle group, the tissue-engineered scaffold was implanted, and autologous femoral blood bundles were implanted into the lateral groove of the tissue-engineered bone;in blank control group, only the tissue-engineered scaffold was implanted. X-ray examination, immunohistochemistry and real-time PCR were performed at 24 and 48 weeks postoperatively. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The X-ray scores in the sensory nerve and vascular bundle groups were significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05), but no significant difference was found between sensory nerve and vascular bundle groups. Real-time PCR found that the expression level of CGRP1R mRNA in the vascular bundle group was significantly higher than that in the other two groups (P<0.05), but showed no significant difference between sensory nerve and blank control groups.Immunohistochemistry findings showed that CGRP1R positive expression rate in the sensory nerve and vascular bundle groups was higher than that in the blank control group. These results reveal that implantation of the tissue-engineered bone containing vascular bundles can promote the CGRP1R expression.

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value of microscopic observation drug susceptibility assay (MODS) in extrapulmonary tuberculosis. Methods MODS technology was constructed by using 24-well cell culture plate and liquid culture.Ziehl-Neelsen smear,Lowenstein-Jensen culture and MODS were used to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis in 74 pleural fluid samples collected from patients with tuberculous pleurisy,63 cerebrospinal fluid samples collected from patients with tuberculous meningitis and 18 samples collected from non-tuberculosis suspects.The immunochromatography was used to distinguish Mycobacterium tuberculosis from nontuberculosis mycobacteria. The results of Ziehl-Neelsen smear, Lowenstein-Jensen culture and MODS were compared by x2 test.Results The positive rates of MODS,Lowenstein-Jensen culture and Ziehl-Neelsen smear were 58.1 ％ (43/74),18.9 ％ (14/74 ) and 6.8％ (5/74),respectively in tuberculous pleurisy patients; 54.0％(34/63),20.6％ (13/63) and 4.8％ (3/63),respectively in tuberculous meningitis patients.The positive rate of MODS technology was significantly higher than that of Lowenstein Jensen culture in tuberculous pleurisy patients (x2 =24.00,P＜0.01) and tuberculous meningitis patients (x2 =14.97,P ＜ 0.01). Each Mycobacterium obtained from MODS and Lowenstein-Jensen culture was identified as Mycobacterium tuberculosis by immunochromatography.All of the 18 pleural fluid and cerebrospinal fluid samples which collected from non-tuberculosis suspects were all negative detected by Ziehl-Neelsen smear,Lowenstein-Jensen culture and MODS.The median time to culture positive of MODS was 9 days in cerebrospinal fluid and 14 days in pleural fluid samples,which were both significantly shorter than that of Lowenstein-Jensen culture (31 days in both cerebrospinal fluid and pleural fluid samples). Conclusion Compared to conventional microbiological diagnosis methods,MODS is a rapid detection method of Mycobacterium tuberculosis with a higher positive detection rate,which is suitable for rapid diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis.

125 strains of the symbiotic and epiphyte microorganisms were isolated from marine organisms (sea cucumber, sea urchin,anemone, sea actinia, Ulra, Sargassum, Undaria). Among them,21 strains of bacteria,8 strains of actinomycetes and 2 strains of fungi showed antagonistic activity on bacterial or fungal growth. In the 21 strains of bacteria, 7 strains belong to Bacillus sp., 11 strains Vibrio sp., and 3 strains Pseudomonas sp.. In the 8 strains of actinomycetes, 5 strains belong to Streptomyces sp., 3 strains Micromonospora sp., 2 strains fungi Penicillum sp..

Objective To assess the value of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) and abdominal CT scan on preoperative T and N staging of advanced gastric cancer.Methods A total of 188 patients with advanced gastric cancer received EUS and CT scan to evaluate the T and N staging and lymphatic metastasis before surgical operation.The postoperative pathologic results acted as gold standard for comparison of the two methods.The results consistent with pathologic results were considered as correct otherwise were incorrect.The accuracy of EUS and CT and the each consistency of two methods with pathology were analyzed.Results For T staging, the accuracy of EUS and CT was 87.2%(164/188), 76.6%(144/188), respectively, and Kappa value of EUS and CT was 0.726 and 0.509, respectively.There was a statistical difference between the two methods(χ2=7.181,P=0.007).For lymph node metastasis, the accuracy of EUS and CT was 72.9%(137/188) and 79.8%(150/188), respectively, and Kappa value of EUS and CT was 0.397 and 0.487, respectively.No statistical difference was found between them(χ2=0.963,P=0.326).The consistency test between the two methods for T and N staging and lymph node metastasis revealed that the Kappa value was 0.507 and 0.649, respectively.The accuracy of EUS on T staging was 93.0%, 93.3%, 96.8% and 91.5% in cardiac cancer, gastric fundus cancer, gastric corpus cancer, and gastric antrum cancer, respectively.Corresponding Kappa value in the 4 different positions were 0.843,0.881,0.940 and 0.710, respectively according to consistency tests.The accuracy of gastric antrum cancer with pylorus invasion was 63.2% and the consistency test Kappa value was 0.340.Conclusion EUS is an accurate method for T staging and lymphatic metastasis of advanced gastric cancer, but there is a lower accuracy for T staging of gastric antrum cancer with pylorus invasion.

Objective To evaluate the colon cleaning efficacy and safety of prucalopride combined with polyethylene glycol electrollytes powder in bowel preparation for colonoscopy examination and treatment under colonoscopy in elderly patients.Methods Elderly patients who prepared for colonoscopy were enrolled from October 2014 to January 2015.They were divided into group A,B and C.Patients of group A only took polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder (137.12 g dissolved in 2 000 mL warm water,stired until completely dissolved),patients of group B took polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder (same usage as group A) combined with prucalopride 2 mg/d for one day,patients of group C took polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder (same usage as group A) combined with prucalopride 2 mg/d for three days.The bowel preparation effects,especially ascending colon and ileocecal junction and cardiovascular adverse effects in all the patients and constipation patients of three groups were compared.Student t test,chisquare test and analysis of variance were performed for statistical analysis.Results A total of 124 elderly patients were divided into group A (64 cases),group B (23 cases) and group C (37 cases).Bowel preparation scores of total colon and ascending colon-ileocecal junction of group A,B,C were 8.34±0.90 and 2.56±0.56,8.96±0.21 and 2.96±0.21,8.86±0.35 and 2.86±0.35,respectively.The cleaning effects in total colon and ascending colon-ileocecal junction of group B were better than those of group A (t=5.52 and 5.15,both P＜0.05).The cleaning effects in total colon and ascending colon-ileocecal junction of groupCwere better than those of group A (t=4.69,3.65,both P＜0.05).There was no statistically significant difference between group B and group C in cleaning effects in total colon and ascending colon-ileocecal junction (both P＞0.05).There were 33,11 and 29 constipation cases in group A,B and C,respectively.The bowel preparation scores for total colon and ascending colon and ileocecal junction of group A,B,C were 7.85±0.94 and 2.24±0.56,8.91±0.30 and 2.91±0.30,8.83±0.38 and 2.83 ± 0.38,respectively.The cleaning effects in total colon and ascending colon-ileocecal junction of group B were better than those of group A (t=6.72 and 5.49,both P＜0.05).The cleaning effects in total colon and ascending colon-ileocecal junction of group C were better than those of group A (t=104.04 and 59.65,both P＜0.05).There was no significant difference between group B and group C in cleaning effects in total colon and ascending colon ileocecal junction (both P＞ 0.05).No obvious cardiovascular adverse events were observed in the patients of three groups.Conclusions The cleaning effects of prucalopride combined with polyethylene glycol electrolytes powder are good for colonoscopy examination in elderly patients,including elderly patients with constipation,especially in ascending colon and ilecocecal junction.No obvious cardiovascular adverse events are observed.
