1.A biomechanical comparison of parallel plating and vertical plating for humeral intercondylar comminuted fractures
Chinese Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma 2012;14(1):58-60
Objective To compare biomechanical performances of parallel plate fixation and vertical plate fixation for better clinical treatment of humeral intercondylar comminuted fractures (HICF).Methods Models of T-shaped fracture were created using an osteotome at the distal end of humerus in 6 specimens of upper limb in 3 human adult cadavers. The 2 fracture models of left and right humeri in the same cadaver were respectively fixated with parallel plating and vertical plating. On a biomaterial-testing machine,a vertical load was applied onto the fixated distal humerus at a speed of 5 N/s till it reached 2000 N.The loading was repeated 3 times.Vertical compression displacement, intercondylar separating displacement, deformation of medial and lateral condyles and vertical compression stiffness were documented for statistic analyses. Results Under the same load, parallel plating led to significantly less compression displacement, separating displacement and deformation of condyles( P < 0.05) but significantly greater axial compression stiffness( P < 0.05) than vertical plating. Conclusion In biomechanics, parallel plate fixation has better performance than vertical plate fixation for HICF.
2.Expression and clinical significance of HER2 and p16 in endometrial carcinoma
Chinese Journal of Postgraduates of Medicine 2008;31(15):15-17
Objective To study the expressions of HER2 and p16 in human endomctrial carcino-ms,and the relation with FIGO stage, cell differentiated degree. Methods Endometrial cancer was 46 cas-es,atypical hyperplasia was 10 cases, endometrial hyperplasia was 10 cases, normal endometrium was 20cases.The immunohistochemical S-P methods were used to detect the expression of HER2 and p16.Results The expression ofHER2in endometrial cancerwasmuch higherthan others(P<0.01),moreover,the expression was increased with the increase of clinical stages(P < 0.05) and the decrease of differentiated degree(P < 0.05). The expression of p 16 in endometrial cancer was lower than others (P < 0.05 ), and the expres-sion was reduced with the increase of clinical stages(P < 0.01 ) and the decrease of differentiated degree(P <0.05).There was negative correlation between expression of HER2 and p16 in uterine endometrial cancer(r = -0.4213, P< 0.01 ). Conclusions The expression of HER2 and p16 in endometrial cancer is associat-ed with the biological behavior of endometrial cancer. HER2 and p16 may be used as objective predictable indicators of endometrial cancer to guide the postoperative treatment.

4.Interpretation of Blood Gas Analysis During Hypothermic Cardiopulmonary Bypass.
Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1989;6(1):121-131
The temperature-corrected values of blood gas analysis were compared to uncorrected values in 40 cases of open heart surgery under moderate hypothermic cardiopulmonary bypass. The results were as follows. 1. The corrected value of pH was significantly higher than uncorrected value, and it's relationship was ΔpH=-0.015 ΔTemp+0.005 (r=0.81, P<0.01). 2. The corrected value of PCO₂ was lower than uncorrected value, and it's relationship was ΔPCO₂=1.11 ΔTemp+1.81 (r=0.50, P<0.01). 3. The corrected value of PO₂ was lower than uncorrected value, and it's relationship was ΔPO₂=5.21 ΔTemp-1.45 (r=0.32, P<0.01). But there was no clinical significance. 4. The corrected values of HCO₃-, base excess, CO₂ content and oxygen saturation were similar with uncorrected values. In summary, the values of pH and PCO₂ were significantly changed by temperature-correction. Because of the neutral point of water (pH=pOH) rise as temperature falls and it change in parallel with the changes in blood pH, a corrected pH of 7.4, PaCO₂ of 40 mmHg during deep hypothermia would reflect a profound respiratory acidosis. Therefore, the use of the uncorrected value at 37℃ is more preferable and valid means of assessing acid-base management regardless of actual patient temperature.

5."The ""3B"" in the clinical management of non-neurogenic male lower urinary tract symptoms"
Chinese Journal of Urology 2017;38(5):326-329
Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS),consisting storage, voiding and postmicturition symptoms,is a comprehensive definition involving multiple organs. There has been an increasing emphasis on the integrated management of non-neurogenic male lower urinary tract symptoms.Instead of focusing on the enlarged prostate, the current treatment has paid more attention on the entire urinary tract as well as multiple organ factors. Therefore,we provided a literature review and summarized the key points during the management of male LUTS as 3B,namely beyond prostate, beyond surgery and beyond urology.
6.Digitized HPLC fingerprints of Compound Danshen Dropping Pills
Chinese Traditional Patent Medicine 1992;0(08):-
AIM:To establish a digitized HPLC fingerprint of Compound Danshen Dropping PilLs (CDDP). METHODS:The RP-HPLC condition was optimized by the chromatographic fingerprint relative index (Fr). The chromatographic fingerprints were characteristically digitized and evaluated by the software of the digitized evaluation system of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the super information characteristics. RESULTS:15 co-possessing peaks were selected as the fingerprint peaks of CDDP by taking protocatechualdehyde peak as the referential peak to establish the digitized fingerprint and the important digitized information for its quality control was obtained. The stabilities among different lots of samples were evaluated by the dual qualitative and dual quantitative similarity method. CONCLUSION:The fingerprints can perfectly reflect the authentical quality of CDDP.

8.Cellular Responses to DNA Double Strand Breaks and Its Medical Significance
Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(09):-
The DNA damage response is a cornerstone of genomic stability. The cell utilizes mutiple mechanisms including damage detection, cell cycle regulation, damage repair and apoptosis to keep cell homeostasis. The DNA damage response include several biochemical pathways:first, the recognition and repair of damaged DNA;second, the activation of DNA damage checkpoint, which arrests cell cycle progression so as to provides time for DNA repair and prevention of the transmission of genomic abnormalities to the daughter cells;third, apoptosis, which eliminates serious damaged cells. The double strand break(DSB) is believed to be one of the most severe types of DNA damage, and errors in DSB repair could result in genomic instability that might lead to malignancy. It has been reported recently that constitutive activation of the ATM-Chk2-p53 pathway and phosphorylation of histone H2AX acts as an inducible anti-cancer barrier in the early stages of human tumorigenesis. This ATM-regulated DNA damage response network maintains genomic integrity and delays or prevents cancer by eliciting growth arrest or cell death. In context with a recent report, the ATM-dependent DNA-damage cellular signaling has also been shown to be involved in the integration of human immunodeficiency virus type-1(HIV-1) into host genomes, and KU55933,a specific ATM inhibitor, attenuated the infection of HIV-1 into host cells. The regulation and mechanisms of the signaling pathways of DSB response, and its role in HIV-1 infection and malignancy genesis were reviewed.
