1.The Effect of the Team-based Cardiac Rehabilitation Program on the Health Behavior Performance, Anxiety, and Quality of Life in the Group of Ischemic Heart Disease with PTCA.
Korean Journal of Rehabilitation Nursing 1998;1(1):83-92
This study was designed to determine the outcomes of the team-based cardiac rehabilitation programs for patients with Ischemic Heart Disease(IHD) on their level of health behavior performance, anxiety, and quality of life. A total of 19 in-patients with IHD who have had PTCA treatment at G.Hospital in Inchon were selected as subject to data collection from} May 1998 to 30 Oct. 1998. The experimental group, consisting of 11 patients participated in the Hospital's cardiac rehabilitation program was compared with the non-rehabilitation control group of 8 patients. The experimental group has been trained on the cardiac rehabliltation programfor 120-150minute during hospitalization by a team consisted of four specialists, those are cardiologist, head nurse, dietian, and the author. Also individual follow-up training and interview were performed for the members of experimental group at their every visit to the Hospital after discharge. For all subjects, scores on health behavior performance, anxiety, and quality of life were collected two days and 12 weeks after PTCA treatment by questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed with the SPSS. The results of this study were summarized as follows: 1) The experimental group shows significant increase in health behavior performance score compared to the control group(-2.27, p=.022). 2) There was no significant difference between two group' s anxiety scores (- .24, p= .803) and quality of life scores(-1.86, p=.061). 3) The correlation between health behavior performance and anxiety ( .07, p=.771), and that between health behavior performance and quality of life( .12, p=.621) respectively were not significant statistically. But the correlation between anxiety and quality of life were significant reversely ( .49, p=.032).

2.DNA Analysis of Hydatidiform Mole by Flow Cytometry and Its Relation to the Prognosis.
Korean Journal of Gynecologic Oncology and Colposcopy 1993;4(4):110-117
Flow cytometric analyms was performed to investigate any relationship between DNA content and clinical outcome in 32 complete hydatidiform moles (CHMs) and 12 partial hydatidiform moles (PHMs). Twenty three and nine of the 32 CHMs were diploid and aneuploid moles, respectively. Of these 23 diploid CHMs, eight (34.8%) regressed spontaneausly and 15 (65.2%) progressed to persiatent gestatiaoal trophoblastic disease (PGTD). Among nine aneuploid CHMs studied, six (66.7%) underwent spontaneous regremion and three (33.3%) required treatment for peraistent GTI). The twelve PHMs consiated of 9 diploid and 3 aneuploid moles, Three of the rune diploid moles (33.3%) remitted complelely, while the remaining 6(66.7%) progressed to PGTD. All aneuploid PHIMs underwent spontaneous remission. The S-phase of cell cycle in the CHMs studied was more frequent in those that progressed to persiatent GTDs, while G0/G1 was more frequent in those that remitted spontanemusly. The PHMs atudied failed to show any significant relationship between the phases of cell cycle and disease prognosis. Our results suggest the potentia] use of DNA ploidy and cell cycle analysis in prerlicting clinical outcome and thus in selecting cases for prophylactic chernotherapy.

3.Study for the Effects of the Polyvalent Pseudomonas Vaccine of the Experimental Pseudomonas sepsis.
Korean Journal of Pathology 1986;20(3):263-276
Recently there is increasing tendency of the nosocomial infection, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the most important and common pathogens causing hospital opportunistic infections with rapid emergence of resistant strain especially in immunologically compromised patients. An experimental study for the effects of polyvalent Pseudomonas vaccine was performed in an animal model of Pseudomonas sepsis on a survival rates and histopathological points of view-using ICR inbred mice. The vaccine was prepared with heat killed whole cells of the 10 representative serotypes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which were isolated from the Department of Microbiology, College of Medicine, Kyung Hee University and Seoul National University, and they were devided into two polyvalent vaccine groups. The animal model of the Pseudomonas sepsis was deveoped by intravenous inoculation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa (serotype F, inoculum size 100 microliter, 109 cells/ml), immediately after cutaneous burns. The results were as follows. 1) The survival rate of the immune mice was 100% and that of non-immune mice was 60%. 2) The histologic findings of lung of the non-immune mice were severe congestion (18/18 mice), hemorrhage (18/18 mice), emphysematous change (18/18 mice), thrombosis (9/18 mice), infarction (9/18 mice) and inflammation (6/18 mice) and those of the immune mice were only congestion (6/20 mice) and focal emphysematous change (2/20) from the 3 day experimental group. 3) The histologic findings of the liver in the non-immune mice were severe congestion, Kupffer cell mobilization, focal necrosis, & portal inflammation in most of them, and from 7 day experimental group there were noted infiltrations of lagre histiocytic cells in sinusoids, and those in the immune mice were only reactive change of varying degree. 4) The histologic findings of the spleen in the non-immune mice were severe reactive hyperplasia in all and ischemic necrosis in about half of them, and those in the immune mice were only reactive change. 5) The histologic findings of the heart in the non-immune mice were severe congestion and inflammation in most and in the immune mice were only occasional nonspecific congestion. 6) The histologic findings of the kidney in the non-immune mice were severe congestion in all, interstitial inflammation, acute tubular necrosis and cortical necrosis in about half of them, and those in the immune mice were only mild congestion. With the above results, we can suspect there is a significant protective effects of the polyvalent pseudomonas vaccine on the pseudomonas sepsis in ICR mice.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1995;29(4):502-510
Twenty-five paraffin-embedded tumor tissues were analyzed for detection of HPV 16 and 18 in cervical adenocarcinoma by polymerase chain reaction with type specific primers and by non-radioactive Southern blot hybridization for confirmation . The suitability of paraffin-embedded tissue as PCR material was confirmed by successful amplification of 100% of cervical specimens with human -globin specific primer. Eighty four percent of the cervical adenocarcinoma tissues were positive for HPV 16 and/or 18. HPV 16 positive rate was 68%, HPV 18 was 60%. The double infection with HPV 16 and 18 was found in 44%. Three cases of the negative specimen in PCR for each type of HPV DNA 16 and 18 were positive in Southern blot hybridization. The total positive rate was 92% for HPV 16 and/or HPV 18, HPV 16 positive rate was 80%. HPV 18 was 72%. The double infection with HPV 16 and 18 was 60%. These results suggest that the pattern of HPV types 16 and 18 is closely associated with carcinogenesis of cervical cancers. HPV type 18 appears to be preferentially related to cervical adenocarcinoma and the poor prognosis of these patients. Therefore, determination of HPV DNA type in cervical carcinoma patients is important in treatment and prognosis.

6.A Comparative Study on Climacteric Symptoms of Natural Menopausal Women and Artificial Menopausal Women.
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing 2001;31(4):692-702
PURPOSE: To extend the understanding on climacteric symptoms, and to improve women's health and the quality of life by providing the basic data relating to the climacteric symptoms of natural menopausal women and artificial menopausal women. METHOD: The subjects of this study were 149 women selected conviniently (89 natural menopausal women and 60 total hystrectomy women) who have visited the climacteric clinic of G. hospital in Inchon, the MENSI questionnaire which was developed by Sarrel (1995)was modified considering Korean culture for the measuring tool of this study with 20 items of question(Cronbach'salpa =.76), duration of data collection with the questionnaire was 5 months from Sept. 1, 2000 to Jan. 30, 2001. Result: Artificial meanopausal women showed statistically significant higher menopausal symptoms than the natural menopausal women in the most of the items, and psychiatric and urogenital symtoms of artificial menopausal women were significantly higher than those of the natural menopausal women. CONCLUSION: Nursing intervention for psychological support upon artificial menopausal women and their spouses is recommended more than natural menpause women.

10.A Comparative Study on Job Stress and Satisfaction between Ward Nurses and Outpatient Nurses.
Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2013;22(2):83-92
PURPOSE: This study was to compare job stress and job satisfaction between ward nurses and outpatient nurses, and to identify the correlation between job stress and job satisfaction. METHODS: The subjects of this study were 200 ward nurses and 85 outpatient nurses in G and I University Hospital in Incheon. The data were collected in March 2010 and analyzed with t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient. RESULTS: There was no significant difference in overall job stress between two groups, but slightly higher stress level for ward nurses. In sub-area of job stress, 'nursing duty' was primary for both groups. And in 'nursing duty' (t=2.05, p=.041), 'conflict with patients' (t=2.73, p=.007), and 'working environment' (t=3.37, p<.001) ward nurses showed significant higher level of stress than outpatient nurses. For job satisfaction, outpatient nurses showed higher level significantly (t=-2.98, p=.003). And both groups of nurses' job satisfaction was negatively correlated with job stress significantly (r=-.31, p<.001). CONCLUSION: It will be possible to reduce job stress and promote job satisfaction level for both groups of nurses by adding staffs, and specifically for ward nurses by improving facilities for relax and appropriate supply, and for outpatient nurses by managing interpersonal stress and reducing side tasks.
