The purpose of this study was to compare the casting problem and corrosion behavior in two types of HL Hexed abutments of the Steri-Oss system : gold/plastic coping and gold coping. The anodic Polarization behavior, the galvanic corrosion between abutments and Type III gold alloys, before and after casting were analyzed, and the crevice corrosion of casting samples was analyzed with the CPPT test and the SEM. The results are as follows ; 1. Anodic polarization behavior of samples ; Before casting, gold/plastic coping and gold coping was shown to have a similar corrosion patterns. TypeIII casting gold alloy was shown to have a lower corrosion potential and passivation film. Corrosion potential of the case of gold/plastic coping after casting was higher than that of gold coping, but the region of passivation film for gold/plastic coping was smaller than that of gold coping. 2. Galvanic corrosion behavior of samples ; Contact current density between casting gold alloys and gold/plastic before casting was higher than that between gold coping and casting gold alloy. Galvanic corrosion of samples after casting was shown to have similar contact current density. 3. Crevice corrosion behavior of samples ; Crevice corrosion resistance of casting sample using gold coping was lower than that of casting sample using gold/plastic coping, and a severe corrosion pattern was observed at the abutment-casting gold alloy interface by the SEM.

Pott's paraplegia has been frequently serious complication of tuberculous spondylitis, although antituberculous drugs have improved the prognosis and healing of the disease. There are much controvercy on treatement of Pott's paraplegia, which comprises immobilization with or without anterolateral antituberculous drugs, immobilization and early posterior arthrodesis, anterolatear decompression and radical anterior decompression with anterior spinal fusion. The method of anterior decompression and anterior interbody fusion which was introduced by Hdgson since 1956 has good reults. The author analyzed 27 consecutive cases of Pott's parsplegia operated at orthopedic departement, In Je Paik Hospital from May 1980 to August 1988. The results were as follows, 1. Number of cases in child was nine(33%), both sexes were similar. 2. Regions of spine involved were most common at thoracic spine(62%). Number of affected vertebrae was averaged 3.3 vertebrae. 3. There were nineteen early(70%) and eight late(30%) paraplegia. 4. There were two complete and twenty five incomplete paraplegia. 5. In operative finding, inflammatory products and sequestrated material was extrinsic factor in early in paraplegia. 6. The recovery of the paraplegia occur in twenty cases(74%) 7. The recovery of paraplegia after treatment was far better in type of early onset, type of incomplete paraplegia less than one year duration. 8. The radical anterior decompression and anterior interbody fusion was considered as recommendable method for remove of all pathologic foci, recovery of paraplegia and healing the tuberculosis with stability.

5.Subacute, Silent Embolization of Amplatzer Atrial Septal Defect Closure Device to the Pulmonary Artery.
Journal of Cardiovascular Ultrasound 2012;20(4):201-204
Embolization of the closure device is a rare but potentially fatal complication of percutaneous atrial septal defect (ASD) closure. We report a case of 45-year-old woman who underwent ASD device closure with 32 mm Amplatzer device, which was embolized to the pulmonary artery without symptom one day after successful device implantation.

7.Clinical Implications of Serum Biomarkers in Diabetic Cardiovascular Complications.
Korean Diabetes Journal 2009;33(5):363-372
Diabetes is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, with atherosclerosis responsible for most associated morbidity and mortality. Atherosclerosis often causes acute thrombotic events through plaque rupture and formation of platelet-rich thrombi. The principal clinical manifestations of atherosclerosis are coronary artery disease, ischemic stroke, and peripheral arterial disease. Endothelial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and low-grade inflammation are key features in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(1):173-176
Palisaded, encapsulated neuroma is characterized clinically by a solitary, slowly-growing and dome-shaped papule or nodule, usually accompanied by telangiectasia on the surface, and histopathologically by an encapsulated nodule in the dermis and the palisading arrangement of nuclei. A 57-year-old female patient presented with a 1cm-sized, solitary nodule on the right ala nasi which had been present for about 5 years. The nodule had a tendency to slow growth and it became a polypoid nodule. Telangiectasia was shown on the surface of the lesion. Histopathlogical findings showed a well-defined and encapsulated nodule in the dermis, composed of spindle cells with basophilic and plump nuclei in a palisading fashion. On immunohistochemical staining, the tumor cells of the nodule were positive for S-100 protein, while the capsule of the nodule was negative for S-100 protein. Epithelial membrane antigens were focally positive only on the capsule of the nodule. We report herein a case of palisaded, encapsulated neuroma, one case of which has been reported in Korea.

10.Unusual Left Ventricular Endocardial Metastasis from Primary Lung Cancer.
Journal of Cardiovascular Ultrasound 2012;20(3):157-160
The heart is frequently the site of metastasis of various malignant tumors. Lung cancer is one of the most common primary tumors of cardiac metastasis and usually involves the pericardium or epicardium by direct invasion and/or lymphatic spread. However, metastasis of lung cancer involving the left ventricular endocardium is extremely rare. We report a patient with adenocarcinoma of lung, metastasized to the left ventricular myocardium and endocardium, diagnosed by echocardiography and 18-fludeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography.
