2.Diagnostic significance of blink reflex in cranial Guillain-Barré Syndrome
Chinese Journal of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation 2001;23(2):96-98
Objective To study diagnostic significance of blink reflex(BR) in cranial Guillain-Barré Syndrome (cGBS). Methods A comparative study was carried out on BR in 7 cGBS cases and 39 normal subjects. Results As compared with controls, the cGBS group showed significant differences on latency and amplitude of R1,R2i, R2c component of BR,M wave and R1 conduction time (R1CT) inside the cranial part(P<0.001). Conclusion The result suggested that BR and facial electromyogram were of great significance in the diagnosis of cGBS and might provide an objective index for clinical differential diagnosis.
3.Study of the tracings of the condylar movements during opening/closing of the unilateral posterior crossbite
Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1981;0(03):-
Objective To discuss the influence of dental occlusion on mandibular movements. The characteristic tracings of mandibular movements at the condyle of unilateral posterior crossbite patients were investigated using a computerized axiography. The differences between patients with normal occlusion and unilateral posterior crossbite were compared by some recordings of condylar movements in three dimensions. Methods Seven unilateral posterior crossbite patients (at least two posterior teeth were crossbite) were chosen as experiment group, and five with normal occlusion without signs or symptoms of temporomandibular disorders (TMD) were chosen as controls. By computer-aided axiography (CADIAX) and gamma dental software for windows 2.3.2.22 (GDSW) from Grbh company (Germany), the tracings of condylar movements in right and left parasagittal planes during opening/closing were recorded, and the data were input into the computer and analyzed using GDSW software. The drifts in X, Y and Z coordinated with condylar movements, respectively, and the transverse condylar inclination from the orbital axis line and the horizontal condylar inclination were calculated, respectively. Results The lengths of the axiographical in opening/closing movement were significantly shorter in the experiment group than that in normal occlusion group; the bilateral condylar tracing of opening/closing movement was symmetric in younger cases but asymmetric in older cases; the lateral deviation of opening/closing movement was significantly larger in unilateral posterior crossbite than that in control group. Conclusion The condylar tracings of envelope of movement in unilateral posterior crossbite patients are significantly different in the patients with normal occlusion. With age increasing, tracings of the affected side and contralateral side vary from symmetry to asymmetry. The results suggest that the functional opening movements are limited in the patients with the unilateral posterior crossbite.

Journal of Chinese Physician 2009;11(9):1174-1177
Objective To explore effects and mechanism of inactivation of vitamin D receptor (VDR) in intestinal tumor growth of APCmin/+ mice. Methods To generate APCmin/+VDR -/- mice through breeding, the number and size of small intestinal and colonic tumors were assessed and compared between APCmin/+ and APCmin/+ VDR -/- mice. The intestinal tumors were diagnosed with HE stain. The expressions of BCL-2,vimentin-1,Stat-1 and MSH-2 proteins of tumors were determined by immanohistocbemistry and compared be-tween APCmin/+ and APCmin/+VDR -/- mice. Results A comparison between APCmin/+ and APCmin/+ VDR -/- mice revealed that the number of the tumors, which were larger than 3mm, was significantly increased in APCmin/+ VDR -/- mice at 4 months of age (P< 0.01). HE staining indicated fistulous adenomas from small intestine and colon of two groups, Immunostaining showed Stat - 1 level in APC-min/+ tumors were increased and MSH-2 and vimentin-1 levels in APCmin/+ VDR-/- mice were increased, compared to APCmin/+tumors. Conclusion These observations suggested that inactivation of VDR promoted the intestinal tumor growth of APCmin/+ mice.
5.Diagnosis of isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta by echocardiography
Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2009;18(6):476-478
Objective To evaluate the value of echocardiography in patients with isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta. Methods The eehoeardiographie results of five patients with isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta were reviewed retrospectively. Results Severe pulmonary hypertension occurred in all the patients, besides accompanied with patent duetus arterious, no other congenital malformations combined. Three patients underwent operation. Patent ductus arterious was missed in one patient's diagnosis. Another patient was missed isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta in several echoeardiographic examinations, once misdiagnosed as complete transposition of the great arteries. Conclusions There are many anatomic and hemodynamic similarities in patients with isolated anomalous origin of right pulmonary artery from ascending aorta. Grasping their common charaeters and exploring multi-position and multi-section are helpful to make correct diagnosis.

West China Journal of Stomatology 2014;32(3):246-251
OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes in the craniofacial morphology ofdeepbite from childhood to adulthood using cross-sectional methods. To analyze the maxillofacial characteristics of adult deepbite.
METHODSThe sample included 159 children (with average age of 12.47 years old) and 81 adults (with average age of21.76 years old) with class III deepbite. The control group consisted of51 normal individuals (with average age of 18.41 years old). Lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken and recorded in a computer through a scanner. Cephalometric measurements were conducted by using Winceph 7.0 software, and results were analyzed with SPSS 12.0 software.
RESULTSSignificant differences between child and adult deepbite were observed in the following: N-ANS, ANS-Me, A-Ms, A-Ptm, Wits, Mo-Ms, Ii-Ii, A-B plane angle to the mandibular plane angle, Gonial angle, L1 to NB length, overjet, mandibular body to anterior cranial base, Mo-Mi, posterior facial height, U1 to NA length, Pog-Go, Cd-Go, occlusion plane angle to SN, and U1 to SN. In addition, significant differences between adult deepbite and normal occlusion were observed in SNB, ANB, convexity, APDI, ODI, Wits, A-B plane to mandibular plane, Gonial angle, overjet, mandibular body to anterior cranial base, S-Ptm, Mo-Mi U1 to SN; Pog-Go, Cd-Go, posterior cranial base, and occlusion plane to SN and posterior facial height.
CONCLUSIONDeepbite patients have certain growth potential after puberty, but the sagittal relationship of their jaws exhibits no improvement. Adult deepbite patients exhibit significant problems in the vertical and sagittal jaw positions.

Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2013;22(1):66-74
PURPOSE: This study examined the relationships among menopausal symptom, self-efficacy, health promoting behaviors, and investigated factors affecting health promoting behaviors of teachers with middle-aged women experiencing menopause. METHODS: From September to October 2012, a convenience sample of 252 subjects aged 40 to 60 years was recruited from 8 elementary schools, 3 middle schools and 5 high schools. The data analysis was done by ANOVA and stepwise multiple regression. RESULTS: Menopausal symptom of subjects was slightly lower than general middle aged women and the average level of health promoting behaviors was similar to general middle aged women. Health promoting behaviors were differentiated by severity of menopausal symptom, not by menstruation state. Menopausal symptom was negatively related to health promoting behaviors. The most significant factor affecting health promoting behaviors was self efficacy (14.3%). The combination of self efficacy, menopausal symptom, and elementary school teachers accounted for 20.1% of health promoting behavior. CONCLUSION: When developing health promotion program for teachers with middle-aged women, such program should consider self-efficacy, menopausal symptom, and school type.

10.Prevalence of Penicillinase-Producing Neisseria Gonorrhoeae (PPNG) in Seoul (1995).
Annals of Dermatology 1997;9(4):258-262
BACKGROUND: In recent years gonorrhea has been pandemic and remains one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases(STD) in the world, especially in developing countries. OBJECTIVE & METHOD: For the detection of a more effective therapeutic regimen and to assess the prevalence of penicillinase-producing Neisseria gonorrhoeae (PPNG), we have been studying patients who have visited the VD Clinic of Choong-ku Public Health Center in Seoul since 1980 by means of the chromogenic cephalosporin method. RESULTS: In 1995, 97 strains of N. gonorrhoeae were isolated, among which 41(42.3%) were PPNG. CONCLUSION: Since the prevalence of PPNG was reported as 21.9% in 1981, the rate fluctuated. However, in 1993, there was an increase up to 74.3%. Thereafter, the prevalence rate decreased to 64.3% in 1994 and 42.3% in 1995. These changes will therefore need continuous observation.
