1.A Case of Eccrine Acrospiroma in Scrotum.
Korean Journal of Urology 1996;37(12):1424-1430
Acrospiroma is a rare benign tumor and a clinicopathologically distinctive neoplasm differentiating toward the distal part of the eccrine sweat gland. I experienced a case of dermal acrospiroma in a 59-year-old man who had a 7.0x6.5 x 5.3 cm sized, slowly growing, brown colored, smooth-surfaced mass on the right scrotum for 3 years. Histological examination revealed lobular structures composed of small fusiform cells and large eosinophilic polyhedral cells. Histochemically some of large polyhedral cells had PAS-positive DPAS-negative glycogen and Alcian-positive mucin in cytoplasm. Immunohistochemical stainings for vimentin, S-100, low molecule keratin, and EMA were positive in the tumor cells. During 6 months follow up period after excision, there was no recurrence. However, it is necessary to follow up for a long period because some acrospiroma may recur after a long silence period.

2.A Study on the Development of R-R Interval Analyzer using Microcomputer (1).
Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1985;2(1):77-80
The R-R interval analyzer was developed to measure the autonomic nervous system function using microcomputer. The system based on 8 bit microcomputer including bandpass filter, R-wave detector and clock generator in order to obtain the mean value, standard deviation, total time, CV value, maximum value and minimum value in the specific view point of R-R interval variation. The pattern of R-R interval change after resting, voluntary standing and deep breathing can be analyzed in normal subjects and diabetics with autonomic nervous dysfunction. The amplitude of the R-R interval variation showed sensitive pattern for normal subjects at resting, standing and deep breathing. On the contrary, the periodicities of amplitude for abnormal subjects with autonomic nervous dysfunction showed dull pattern. It was suggested that R-R interval analyzer is a good detection method for dysfunction of autonomic nervous system.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1990;24(1):85-90
The authors report a case of malignant teratoma in a 3-year-old girl who suffered from occipital headache and vomiting for about 2 months. The tumor occupied left cerebellopontine angle resulting in a moderate degree of hydorcephalus. Histologically, the tumor consisted mainly of neuroepithelial tissues showing varying degrees of differentiation, with areas of epidermis, mature fat tissue, connective tissue, gastrointestinal glands and smooth muscle bundles containing ganglions. Also noted are groups pf polygonal or spindle cells representing immature mesodermal tissue. In contrast to two malignant intracranial teratomas previously reported in Korean literatures, this case is characterized by the presence of predominent neuroepithelial components and by uncommon tumor location, the posterior fossa far from middle line of the body.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1981;19(6):875-879
The authors observed 5 cases with leukonychia striata caused by Trichophyton rubrum infection. They were 4 males and 1 female in the 28-32 years age group. In 4 of the 5 cases the lesions disappeared in 1-3 months with treatment-avulsion of the involved nails followed by oral griseofulvin 500mg/day, one case did not have follow-up observation.

A statistical observation ryas made on Genito-Urinary-Tract injuries of Korean Army Personnel in Vietnam War during the period of November, 1965 to November, 1966. and the following results were obtained. 1. The Genito-Urinary-Tract injuries were 15 cases(5.3 per cent) among 825 war causalities. 2. As for the causes of injuries, 25 cases (55.5 per cent) were caused by gunshot, 9(20.O per cent) by booby trap, 5(11. O per cent) by mortar, 3(6.6 per cent) each by crush and grenade. 3. Concerning the frequency of injuries in each organ, 12 cases (6. 6 per cent) each were observed in urethra, in scrotum and testis, 10 (22.2 per cent) in kidney, 8 (17.7 per cent) in bladder, and 3 {6. 6 per cent) in penis. 4.The incidence of Genito-Urinary-Tract injuries associated with the other organs was as follows. In kidney injuries, Z cases were associated with intestine, 4 with liver, 3 with spleen and one each with radial nerve and iliac vessel. In bladder injuries. 2 cases were associated with pelvic bone, and one with spleen. In urethra injuries, 6 cases were associated with pelvic bone and 2 with intestine. 5. As for the multiplicity of Genito-Urinary-injuries, 4 cases were observed in scrotum, testis and urethra, and 3 each in urethra and bladder, and scrotum and testis. 6. The evacuation time from battle fields to the evacuation hospital was one hour in average by helicopter

The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1996;31(1):92-101
There are many difficult problems and various methods in the treatment of difficult fractures of the femur. Form May 1991 to August 1994, 9 cases of difficult fractures of the femur were treated with Ilizarov external fixator. We obtained good result for all cases as follow : 1. There were 1 case of severely segmental and comminuted fracture with bone loss, 3 cases of infected nonunion after internal fixation(2 cases combined with bone loss), 2 cases of non-union after internal fixation and 3 cases of severely segmental and comminuted fractures. The traffic accident injury was in 6 cases and the falling down injury was in 3 cases. 2. The bone union was obtained in all cases and the duration of Ilizarov external fixator application was minimum 7.7 months up to 19 months with an average of 1.3 months and full weight bearing was possible in all cases after removal of the Ilizarov external fixator. 3. We experienced 9 complication; there were 6 cases of pin tract infection which were controlled by antibiotic injection at that site and there were three cases of limitation of motion of knee. So we conclude that the Ilizarov external fixation technique is one of the effective methods for the treatment of difficult fracture of the femur(ex. segmental, comminuted fracture, bone defect, osteomyelitis and nonunion) in spite of having experienced only few cases.

Korean Journal of Anesthesiology 1994;27(10):1497-1502
Malignant hyperthermia is a metabolic and genetic disease which present with multiple signs of variable intensity and time course. Most of signs are nonspecific to malignant hyperthermia an4 it is not unusual for malignant hyperthermia-susceptible patients to under- go their first anesthesia uneventfully. Thus, the accurate prediction of preanesthetic susceptibility and early diagnosis of malignant hyperthermis can be lifesaving. Recently, some episodes of signs and symptoms suggestive of malignant hyperthemia after spinal an- esthesia those were suspected to be malignant hyperthermia have been reported. In our hospital, two patients suffered from signs and symptoms suggestive of malignant hyperthermia after spinal anesthesia. One patient showed severe muscle rigidity on the un- blocked upper extremities and thorax, tachycardia (120-160beat/min) and hypertension (180-160/120-100mmHg) and later he showed high fever(38-40degrees C), generalized seizure and severe acidosis. He expired the next day of operation in spite of intensive care. The other patient showed shivering, high fever(39degrees C) and elevated serum CPK level(more than 1,500IU/ L) after spinal anesthesia. Intensive treatment with cooling was immediately initiated. Then, he recovered completely 6 hours later. His mother and a brother showed increased serum CPK level(91,112IU/L, respectively), too. Although we could not performed confirmatory diagnostic test, signs and symptoms were very similar to those of malignant hyperthermia. So, we suspected that it might be malignant hyperthermia.
