On a total 233 sera from the VDRL reactive patients without a history of syphilitic symptoms or treatment for syphilis, TPHA and 19S(IgM)-FTA tests were performed, Also the reactivities of the 19 S (IgM)-FTA test in relation to the VDRL and the TPHA titers were observed. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Among 233 sera, 103 sera(44%) showed negative results in the 19S(IgM)- FTA test. 2. Reactivities of the 19 S(IgM)-FTA test were significantly increased in relation to the VDRL, titers arnong 233 sera reactive in the VDRL test: 47% in the VDRL titer 1: 1, 61% in 1: 2, 71% in 1: 4, 62% in 1: 8, 96% 1: 16 or more. 3. There was no relationship statistically (IgM)-FTA test and the TPHA titers. It can be derived from the above results that when a person with no history of treatment for syphilis and clear of any signs of syphilis shows a positive reaction in the VDRL test, he is less likey to be a syphilis patient when the VDRL titer is low.

6.The quantity of immunoglobulin IgG, IgA, IgM, IgE in serum of ordinary Vietnamese adults in 1990s
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2004;295(2):31-35
Using high-immunological techniques (immunoturbidimetry and ELISA), we quantify: IgG, IgA, IgM in 60 persons, of whom 36 are male and 24 are female from 18 to 45 years old with good health. Results: IgG (mg%): 1707247; IgA (mg%): 23665; IgM (mg%): 27788.5. IgE in serum of 62 persons, of whom 38 are male and 24 are female from 18 to 45 years old with good health and no allergic prehistory: IgE (ng/ml): 435171. Comparing to the results found by some authors, who studied by using RID technique, it is shown that: their IgG and IgM quantity are lower than ours, but the IgA quantity is higher than ours

7.Immunoglobulin Response, Following D.T. Vaccination.
Journal of the Korean Pediatric Society 1982;25(2):157-161
The author investigated the changes of serum protein, protein fraction and immunoglobulin in 6 infants who had been immunized with D.T. vaccine at 3, 4 and 5 months of age and in 6 infants who had not been immunized, as control group. The results obtained were summerized as follows. 1) There were no differences in the changes of total sserum protein and protein fraction between two groups. 2) Although, in the level of immunoglobulin, there were no differences in the levels of IgG and IgM between two groups, IgA was increased slightly in immunized group than in nonimmunized group.

8.The Study of the Quantitation for Immune Globulins ( I & G. I & A and I & M ) in Syphilis.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1971;9(3):15-22
The sera of 86 patients with untreated secondary syphilis were anaIyzed by immunoelectrophoresis with the specific antisyphilitic rabbit serum. Twenty-seven out of the 86 sera (31. 4%) showed more prominent IgA precipitate arcs as compared to the precipitate arcs of the normal serum. Fourteen out of the 86 scra (16. 3%) showed more promincnt IgM precipitate arcs as compared to the normal. However there was no speciific abnormal precipitate line for the syphilis serum, Quantitative analyscs of the 86 sera from the syphilitics by the Lim's modification of the Oudin capillary tube method showed that the mean of the IgG level is 2.415+53.2mg/100ml, IgA 293+8.3mg/100mI and Igm 102+3.6mg/100ml. This result represents a statistically significant increases of immune globulin levels in the syphilitics as compared with the normal controls (p<0.05).
