1.Linar Scleroderma: Report of Three Cases.
Korean Journal of Dermatology 1971;9(3):65-69
Three cases of linear scleroderma with typical clinical and histopathological findings were presented. Case 1: A 10 year old female had a "coupe de sabre" type of linear scleroderma on the right side of the frontal scalp and face and hemiatrophy of the right side of the face. Case 2: A 10 year old female had a type of scleroderma en bande on the palm and dorsum of the left hand and clubbed finger of the left third finger. Case 3: A 21 year old male had a linear type of skin atrophy and sclerosis of the right lower exteremity and mild walking disturbance.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1985;19(4):449-452
The concurrence of typical carcinoid admixed with adenocarcinoma of the gastrointestinal tract is a well known but unusual phenomenom that has been reported in the esophagus, stomach, gall bladder, colon and appendix. The amine precursor uptake and decarboxylation (APUD) concept included the idea that neuroendocrine cells of the gastrointestinal tract were dervied from the neural crest by a process of migration during embryogenesis. However the intimate admixture of cells which have morphologic and immunocytochemical properties of both carcinoid tumors and adenocarcinoma suggests that these tumors are derived from a multipotential stem cell showing bidirectional differentiation rather than from unrelated cell lines. The term composite carcinoma-carcinoid tumor is therefore an appropriate designation for these neoplasms. We report a case of composite carcinoma-carcinoid tumor of the stomach in a 38 year-old female with brief review of literature.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1998;36(2):275-279
BACKGROUND: PUVA photochemotherapy has been accepted as an effective mode of treatment for psoriasis. Many combination therapies have been tried to reduce the possible adverse effects of long-term exposure to UV radiation. OBJECTIVE: This study was performed to compare calcipotriol-PUVA combination therapy(D-PUVA) with conventional PUVA in the treatment of Korean psoriasis patients. METHODS: We treated 38 Korean psoriasis patients with conventional PUVA and 12 with D-PUVA. We compared the total number, duration and total UVA dose of PUVA therapy to reach grade 4 between the two groups. We categorized each patient into clearing, improvement, or failure groups based on the therapeutic efficacy, and measured the PASI score at each of the patients visits. RESULTS: The total cumulative dose of D-PUVA phototherapy was significantly smaller than PUVA phototherapy. CONCLUSION: Combining PUVA with a vitamin D analogue, calcipotriol, in the treatment of psoriasis may lead to lowering the risk of long-term exposure to UV radiation with higher efficacy.

OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to evaluate the expressions, microvessel counts and angiogenic pathway of VEGF and PD-ECGF and proliferative activity of Ki-67 according to clinicopathologic feature of cervical tumor. METHODS: Two hundred three cervical specimens were evaluated; among these 20 were designated normal epithelium, 36 mild dysplasia, 28 moderate dysplasia, 36 severe dysplasia, 28 carcinoma in situ, 17 microinvasive carcinoma and 38 invasive cervical carcinoma (21 squamous cell carcinoma and 17 adenocarcinoma). Microvessel count was determined by immunohistochemical staining using anti-factor VIII-related monoclonal antibody. The expression of VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and PD-ECGF (platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor) were evaluated by immunohistochemical staining with anti-human VEGF monoclonal antibody and anti-dThdPase monoclonal antibody. The proliferative activity was examined using a Ki-67 equivalent monoclonal antibody (MIBl). RESULT: There was no statistical significance on microvessel count except invasive cancer comparing with mild dysplasia including normal tissue, but there was a little increase in microvessel counts according to severity of tumor. The intensity of VEGF and PD-ECGF expression was significantly correlated with severity of cervical tumor. And the microvessel density was significantly higher in the positive expression of VEGF and PD-ECGF than in the negative expression. The intensity of PD-ECGF expression in invasive adenocarcinoma was significantly lower in comparison with VEGF expression. The intensity of Ki-67 expression had no correlation with severity of cervical tumor and was significantly higher in moderate and severe dysplasia than in microinvasive and invasive carcinoma. Ki-67 expression had no statistical correlation with VEGF and PD-ECGF. CONCLUSION: The VEGF and PD-ECGF are important angiogenic factors and associated with progression of cervical tumor. The VEGF may be involved in the progressions of squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, but the PD-ECGF may not be involved or be minimally involved in the progression of adenocareinoma. There seems to be a different angiogenic pathway pertaining to the histologic difference of cervical cancer. There was no difference of Ki-67 expression according to severity of cervical tumor.

9.The reciprocal relationships between parenting attitudes and emotional problems in adolescence: A longitudinal cross-lagged analysis
Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education 2023;29(4):440-449
Purpose:
This study aimed to identify the reciprocal relationship between parenting attitudes (positive and negative) and adolescent emotional problems as indicated by aggression, social withdrawal, and depression.
Methods:
This study analyzed longitudinal data from 2,325 parents and their children from the Korea Children and Youth Panel Survey 2018 at three time points over a three-year period (the first to third grade of middle school). Autoregressive cross-lagged modeling was conducted using AMOS 26.0.
Results:
The results indicated that both parenting attitudes and adolescents’ emotional problems were relatively stable over time. In other words, the parenting attitude at a previous point affects the parenting attitude at a later point, and the emotional problem at the previous point continues to affect the emotional problem at the later point. There were no significant cross-lagged effects from both positive and negative parenting attitudes to adolescents’ emotional problems. In contrast, adolescents’ emotional problems at previous time points positively predicted negative parenting attitudes at later time points. In other words, if there were many emotional problems of aggression, social withdrawal, and depression in adolescents at a previous time, negative parenting attitudes such as rejection, force, and inconsistency at a later time increased.
Conclusion
This study can reflect the characteristics of the development of independence in adolescence. Parents should deal with their children’s emotional problems based on their understanding of the developmental characteristics of adolescence, and this study provides a strategy for parents to establish appropriate parenting attitudes for adolescents with emotional problems.
