1.Clinical Analysis of Meniscus Injuries in Korean Soldier: 60 Cases
The Journal of the Korean Orthopaedic Association 1979;14(1):15-19
Clinical analysis was done on 60 meniscus injuries operated on at Orthopaedic Department of Capital Armed Forces General Hospital from Mar. 1977 to Sept. 1978 with the following results. 1. All cases were military personel aged from 21 to 40, most of them 23 and 24 years old. 2. The fall down accident was the most common cause of injury mechanism. 3. The lateral meniscus was more frequently injured than the medial with 43:17, and the right side knee than left with a ratio of 35:25. 4. The posterior horn tear was the most common type of the injuries involved 23 cases (48.3%). 5. The complete healing after menisectomy ranged from 1 month to about 3 months. 6. It seems resonably certain that habit of exaggerated flexion of the knee in Korean is an important factor in the production of the lesion, combined possibly with medial ratation of the tibia, for subsequent episodes of the exaggerated flexion enlarge the rent untill the popliteus attachment and all peripheral attachments behind the hiatus are torn away, and the posterior half of the lateral meniscus is released from normal control.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1984;22(3):310-313
A 72-year-old woman with a pea sized, bluish, firm nodule was diagnosed as having a cellular type of dermatofibroma histopathologically. A biopsy specimen revealed a relatively well circumscribed, non-encapsulated, nodular infiltration of irregularly distributed histiocytes in the deep dermis. Foam cells were also noted. Gomoris iron stain revealed large amounts of hemosiderin deposits and some collagen were present as individual fibers in the lesion with Masson's trichrome stain.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1980;18(4):349-353
Generalized pustular psoriasis is a severe form of paoriasis and is frequently associated with arthritis and nail deformity. We present a case of generalized pustular psoriasis in a 40 year-old man, with nail change, arthritis of both knee and ankle joints, spondylitis, and glomerulonephritis. We found a positive results of HLA A-9, B-27 in this patient. Skin lesions, arthralgia and hematuria improved marked1y by plasmapheresis and application of topical corticostertoid.

The fracture of acrylic resin dentures remains an unsolved problem. Therefore, many investigations have been performed and various approaches to strengthening acrylic resin, for example, the reinforcement of heat-cured PMMA resin using glass fibers, have been suggested over the years. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of short glass fibers treated with silane coupling agent on the transverse strength of heat-polymerized PMMA denture base resin. To avoid fiber bunching and achieve even fiber distribution, glass fiber bundles were mixed with PMMA powder in conventional mixer whose blade was modified to be blunt. Composite of glass fiber (11micrometer diameter, 3mm & 6mm length, silane treated) and PMMA resin was made. Transverse strength and Young's modulus were estimated. Glass fibers were incorporated with 1%, 3%, 6% and 9% by weight. Plasticity and workability of dough was evaluated. Fracture surface of specimens was investigated by SEM. The results of this study were as follows 1. 6% and 9% incorporation of 3mm glass fibers in the PMMA resin enhanced the transverse strength of the test specimens (p<0.05). 2. 6% incorporation of 6mm glass fibers in the PMMA resin increased transverse strength, but 9% incorporation of it decreased transverse strength (p<0.05). 3. When more than 3% of 3mm glass fibers and more than 6% of 6mm glass fibers were incorporated. Young's modulus increased significantly (p<0.05). 4. Workability decreased gradually as the percentage of the fibers increased. 5. Workability decreased gradually as the length of the fibers increased. 6. In SEM and LM, there was no bunching of fibers and no shortening of fibers.

Keratoacanthoma is a benign neoplasm that develops as a protruding mass especially on the central part of face, We experienced a case of keratoacanthoma that developed on the nasal vestibule after the eradication of verruca vulgaris on the same site by surgical intervention 3 months before. We treated it with total excision and skin graft.
