Korean Journal of Dermatology 1985;23(4):441-446
Authors have performed patch test to evaluate the differences between the allergic contact dermatitis to topical medicaments and to the other substances including cosmetics. One hundred eighteen patients were evaluated according to age, sex, and causative agents of the disease. Furthermore, these patients were analysed as to the causative allergic contact factors by clinical inspection and history. The most common causative allergic contact factors by clinical, history and patch test were topical medicarnents(45.8%), cosmetics(24. 6%), rubbery(10.2%), and metals(8.59%.). The common etiogloic medicaments of contact dermatitis were Madecassol, Betadin, Tiger balm, Canesten, Mercurochrom, and Tego solution. The causative agents were confirmed by the patch test with Hollister-Stiers standard allergens in 57 patients from Jan. 1983 to Dec. 1984, 1 hirty eight among 57 patients were positive to patch test, Back ground possible explanation of the patch test results were discussed and a comparison was made between this report and others.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1994;31(3):411-414
Magnetic Resonance image(MRI) is used as the diagnostic modality for evaluation of suspected intramedullary tumors and differential diagnosis of these tumors at the spinal cord. We experienced intramedullary astrocytoma of cerviced cord with large syrinx and multiple peritumoral cysts consisted of subacute and chronic hemorrhage at the margin and within the syrinx and cysts on MRI.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1990;28(6):822-825
Nethertons syndrome is characterized by a triad of ichthyosiform dermatosis, multiple hair-shaft defects(including trichorrhexis invaginata), and an atopic diathesis. Intermittent amminoaciduria, mental retardation, or recurrent infection have been observed in some cases. We have seen an 8-year-old girl presenting with polycyclic, erythematous patches bordered by distintive double-edged scales as a skin manifestation and ball-and-socket deformity as a hair defect.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(6):798-805
This is an analysis of 174 patients classified as generalized vitiligo by Ortonnes' classification during the period from May till December in 1985. The retults are summarized as follows. There were 89 females(51.l%) and 85 males(48, 9%). 2. The mean age of onset was 24.2 years(male: 23.4, female: 24. 8). 3. The mean age at the first visit was 33 years(male: 32. 2, female: 34, 8) 4. The mean duration of t.he disease was 10. 8 years (male: 10. 3, female: 11. 3). 5. The mean interval between onset and visiting was 9 years(male: 8. 8, female: 10). 6. Mode of onset was unicentric in 90, 2% and multicentric in 9. 8% 7.The most common site of initial involvement was abdomen(15. 0%). 8. The most common precipitating factor was trauma(11%). 9.The most common previous treatment was sunlight irradiation after application of topical oxoralene(33.3%). 10. The most common degree of depigmented lesion was 5~10%.(39.7%). 1l. Family history was present in 12% and thyroid disease was associated in only one case.

Spinal fusion has performed for instability and anatomical reconstruction since 1985 by Barthe. Bone grafts and synthetic materials has been used for spinal fusion, but they have several limitations and complications. Recently a new synthetic polymer B.O.P.(Biocompatible Osteoconductive Polymer) was developed and it overcome the limitations of other materials. The B.O.P. showed no foreign body reaction and gave scaffolding for the osteoconduction and osteointegration. Authors operated 35 cases of spinal fusion with B.O.P. and the results and literature reviews were discussed.

Anterior interbody fusion has used for instability and anatomical reconstruction in various cervical diseases since 1958 by cloward. Bone grafts such as autograft, allograft, xenograft and synthetic materials were utilized in fusion as a graft material. But conventional fusion materials have problems including postoperative morbidity, transmission of diseases, foreign body reaction, collapse, prolongation of operation time. A new synthetic material, Biocompatible Osteoconductive Polymer(B.O.P) is developed and it was useful for cervical anterior interbody fusion as a substitute for other fusion materials.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1984;22(6):593-598
The influence of serum IgE level on T cell function and number in atopic dermatitis was performed. For the study we selected 2 groups of atopic derrnatitis patients which were 10 cases of atopic dermatitis patients with more than 400 IU/ml of serum 1gE level and 1(l cases with less than 400 IU/ml, The lymphocyte transformation test with phytohernagglutinin and E-rosette test with AET treated sheep cell were perforrned in each group and compare the result of each group with each other and al'o with those of control group. The reults are as follows; l. The mean serum level of IgE in AD(538. 8 407.42 IU/ml) was higher than in normal control(126. 5 133, R8 IU/ml) (p<0.01). 2 The mean LTT S.I. in AD(8.83 -3.85) was lower than in nomnal control (13.99 5.55) (p<0.01). 3. The mean percentage of E-rosette in AD(68,65+6.6g) was lower than 4pp IU/ml(mean+2x SD of serum IgE of control groups), 1) The LTT S, I. was decreased in both groups according to increment of serum IgE, The higher IgE group(8.64+3,9p) had statistical significance compared to normal control(13.gg+5.55) (p<0.01) but not in low IgE group(9.08:4.11).2) The percentage of E-rosette was decreased in both groups according to increment of serum IgE. The both groups of low IgE(71.08.-6,24) and high IgE(66. 22 6. R7) had statistical significance compared to normal control(77.65+4.39 %) (p 0.01).
