3.A study of histomorphological change of curved root canal preparation using GT rotary file, profile and stainless steel K-file.
Journal of Korean Academy of Conservative Dentistry 2002;27(6):612-621
The purpose of this study was to compare the histomorphological change of curved root canal preparation using GT rotary File, Profile .04 taper and stainless steel K-file. 45 mesial canals(over 20 degree) of extracted human mandibular first molars were mounted in resin using a modified Bramante muffle system and divided into three groups. The roots were cross-sectioned at 2.5mm, 5mm and 8mm levels from apical foramen. Tracings of the canals were made from preinstrumentation pictures of the cross section. The canals were prepared using a step-back technique with stainless steel K file(group 1), Profile .04 taper rotary file(group 2) and GT rotary file(group 3). Tracings of the prepared canals were made from postinstrumentation picture. Canal centring ratio, amount of transportation, area of dentin removed and shape of canal were measured and statistically were evaluated with Student-Newman-Keuls test using Sigma Stat(Jandel Scientific Software, USA). The results were as followings: 1. Amount of transportation of group 2 was the lowest at apical part, but there was no statistical difference. The direction of transportation was the outside of curvature at apical part. 2. Centering ratio at the apical part of group 1 was the highest, and there was statistical differences between apical and middle part, apical and coronal part(p<0.05). Centering ratio at the middle part of group 3 was the lowest, and there was statistical difference between apical and middle part(p<0.05). Centring ratio of group 2 was the lowest at apical part, but there was no statistical difference. 3. Amount of dentin removed of group 1 was the highest at coronal, middle and apical part among three groups, and there was statistical difference(p<0.05). 4. The majority of the cross-sectioned canal shape after instrumentation were irregular at coronal, middle and apical part. But there are more number of round shaped canals at group 3 than other group.

Journal of the Korean Radiological Society 1984;20(3):655-659
Author analyzed 154 cases of transabdominal ultrasonography of normal adults who had normal urinalysis, no complaint of symptoms related with urinary system and no evidence of prostate disease. The maximum anteroposterior, transverse and longitudinal diameters of prostate were measured. The weight of prostate was computed using the formular for the weight of ellipsoid object (W=SGx4/3 pie r1.r2.r3, w; weight, SG; specificgravity about 1.05 gm/ml, r; radious of prostate in any dimension). The results were as follows; 1. The averagesized of prostate were 4.12±0.68 cm in transverse diameter, 3.46±0.49 cm in longitudinal diameter and 2.36±0.40cm in AP diameter. Transeverse diameter was the longest and AP diameter was the shorteset in all cases. 2. Theaverage weight of prostate in each age groups were 19.25±6.78 gm in the 3rd decade, 16.64±5.18 gm in the 4th decade, 16.28±5.31 gm in the 5th decade, 22.31±6.95gm in the 6th decade and 13.06±8.18 gm in over the 7th decade. The average weight of prostate in groups more than 50 years of age were significantly greater than youngerage groups (p<0.005). Total average weight was 18.96±6.78 gm. 3. The distribution of prostate weighting over 30gm in each groups were 14.29%(5/35) in the 3rd decade, 0%(0/34) in the 4th decade, 2.63%(1/38) in the 5th decade,20%(6/30) in the 6th decade and 23.5%(4/17) in the 7th decade.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 2022;65(5):710-718
Objective:
: Although endovascular treatment for intracranial aneurysms is considered effective and safe, its durability is still debated. Also, few studies have described angiographic follow-up plan after endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysm, especially in ruptured cases. Hence, we report the long-term results of follow-up angiography protocol.
Methods:
: Radiological records of 639 cases of coil embolization with ruptured aneurysms from March 2003 to December 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. Patients who received treatment of a saccular aneurysm less than 7 mm resulted with near complete occlusion were included. Two hundred thirty-eight aneuryms which received the follow-up angiography at least once were enrolled. We classified four periods of follow-up as follows : post-treatment 1 year (defined as the first period), from 1 to 2 years (the second period), 2 to 5 years (the third period), and over 5 years (long-term).
Results:
: We identified 14 cases (6.4%) of recurrence from 218 aneurysms in follow-up angiography in the first period. Among 143 aneurysms in the second period, five cases (3.5%) of recurrence were identified. There were no findings suspicious of recanalization in 97 patients in the third period. Of the total 238 cases, there were 19 recurrences, for a recurrence rate of 8.0%. Six (31.6%) out of 19 recurrences showed a tendency toward repeat recurrences even after additional treatment. Twenty-eight received long-term follow-up over 5 years and there was no recurrence.
Conclusion
: Most of the recurrence were found during the first and the second year. We suggest that at least one digital subtraction angiography examination may be necessary around post-treatment 2 years, especially in ruptured cases. If the angiographic results are favorable at 2 years post-treatment, long-term result should be favorable.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1999;42(8):1665-1670
OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to evaluate of course of delivery & perinatal outcomes for postterm pregnancy compared with fullterm pregnancy. METHODS: This study included 360 cases of postterm pregnancy out of 16,992 cases delivered at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology from January 1, 1993 to December 31, 1997. 16,143 cases of full term deliveries of 38 to 42 gestational weeks conducted in same period were used as the control group. Postterm pregnancy was defined as a pregnancy that it exceeds 295 days calculated from first day of the last menstrual period. RESULTS: The incidence of postterm pregnancy was 2.13% with the highest incidence occurring in the 26 ~30 years age group. This study group was significantly different from the control group in the incidence of fetal distress (10.28% vs. 2.20%), large fetus (10.83% vs. 6.95%), perinatal death (1.67% vs. 0.27%). CONCLUSIONS: Adverse perinatal outcomes were increased markedly as the gestational weeks to be prolonged. Therefore, careful prenatal care, accurate determination of delivery date is very important.

Journal of Korean Medical Science 1988;3(4):157-162
The aim of this case report is to draw the attention to the occurrence of cystic fibrosis (C.F.) in a Korean infant and thus increase the awareness for the diagnosis. The male infant was presented with a history of recurrent bronchiolitis manifested by severe cough, wheeze and dyspnea from three weeks of age, in whom the diagnosis of C.F. was clinically suspected and was confirmed by demonstration of two elevated sweat chloride levels (97 mEq/L and 99 mEq/L) in the patient. The diagnosis was delayed because the main manifestations of C.F. were the same as the main symptoms of common diseases such as cough, diarrhea and failure to thrive. C.F. is probably underdiagnosed in Korean population both because the diagnosis is not considered since the disease is thought to be uncommon or even not to occur and because diagnostic facilities including the quantitative iontophoresis sweat test are lacking.

Journal of the Korean Academy of Family Medicine 2002;23(5):620-626
BACKGROUND: Herpes zoster is a significant and troublesome disease. The pain of acute herpes zoster may be severe, but is usually transitory. Some patients, especially the elderly at particular risk, go on to develop neuralgia. Unfortunately, neuralgia is often severe and refractory to most forms of treatment. The purpose of this study was to estimate improved rates of neuralgia according to associated factors. METHODS: We observed the improved rates of neuralgia in 123 patients who had herpes zoster with severe pain and treated with antiviral therapy after admission. Also, we compared them by age group, dermatomal distribution, and initiating day of antiviral therapy. RESULTS: At 4 weeks of treatment, the improved rates of neuralgia according to age younger group was high and older group was low. The improved rates of neuralgia according to the starting day of treatment was high 100% in 1 day, 76.5% in 2, 65.0% in 3days, and 18.2% in 7 days after skin eruption. CONCLUSION: In herpes zoster with severe pain, age and initiation of antiviral therapy are significant predictors of neuralgia.

We have constructed several panels of MAbs which specifically recognize B-subunit of HCG (BHCG). Splenocytes from Balb/c mice immunized with B-subunit of HCG were fused with SP2/o-Ag14 myeloma cells by PEG method. Fifteen different hybridorna clones (individually named as mG10.127, mG10.61, mG9.5, mG9.18, rnG9.20, mG6.3, mG6.36, mG6.8, mG7.31, mG7.79, mG9.11, mG9.51.6, mG9.51.12, mH4.17, and mH4.4) were obtained by indirect ELISA screening and three to five successive cloning procedures. The distinct features of these MAbs were determined by specificity, western blot, isotyping, and isoelectrofocusing. All of the MAbs except mG9.20 and mG6.8 specifically bind to BHCG without cross- reaction with B-subunit of LH (BLH). In western blot analysis, all of the MAbs bind to non-denatured form of BHCG suggesting that the MAbs recognize conformation-dependent epitope of BHCG. This new panels of MAbs to BHCG should be useful for developing diagnostic reagent such as pregnancy, choriocarcinoma, Down's syndrome as well as for the fine quantitation of serum or urinary HCG.
