Pigmented neurofibroma, a variant of neurofibroma, has rarely been observed in patients with or without neurofibromatosis. Pigmented neurofibroma is characterized histologically by the coexistence of scattered melanin-laden cells and benign spindle cells with neural differentiation. We report a case of pigmented neurofibroma in a 22-year-old female patient.

The Korean Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 1997;30(3):300-307
We have experienced 25 cases of aortic aneurysm from October 1987 to January 1996. Patients ranged in age from 26yrs to 73yrs(mean age 52.5yrs). There were 13 males and 12 females. Eighteen cases were thoracic aneurysm and seven were abdominal aneurysm. The cause of aneurysm were dissecting in 16cases aneurysms and non-dissecting in 9 cases. Risk factors of aortic aneurysm were hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, Marfan's syndrome. In thoracic aneurysm patients, 12 cases of dissecting aneurysm underwent aneurysmectomy and replacement of vessel interposition graft with or without coronary artery implantation on the graft. 6 cases of non-dissecting aneurysm underwent operation with same policy as dissecting aneurysm. In 7 case of abdominal aneurysm, all patients underwent aneurysmectomy and graft interposition with straight or Y graft. There were 5 postoperative death(mortality 20%). Several cases of complications were improved with proper managements. All survivors showed improvement in clinical symptom and sign and discharged without specific complications.

Korean Journal of Urology 2010;51(12):863-869
PURPOSE: The number of patients waiting for kidney transplantation is incessantly increasing, but the number of cadaveric kidney transplantations or ABO-compatible donors is so insufficient that ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation is being performed as an alternative. There are overseas studies and research showing that the 5-year survival rate and 5-year graft survival rate of ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation are not much different from those of ABO-compatible kidney transplantation. However, domestic research on the subject is rare. Therefore, we report the results of 22 ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation cases performed in our hospital. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This research was from 22 patients in our hospital who underwent ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation from 15 February 2007 to 20 May 2010. RESULTS: As yet, there have been no donor graft losses and no deaths after transplantation. The results of the two groups were analyzed by analysis of covariance of the creatinine value of the recipients at 6 months after the operation, corrected for the preoperative value in order to statistically identify whether there were differences in renal function after the operation between ABO-compatible and ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation. The results of the analysis of covariance showed no statistical difference in renal function after the operation between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: Even though there were not many cases, our initial results for ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation were positive. Considering the increasing number of patients waiting for kidney transplantation, longer-term domestic research studies of ABO-incompatible kidney transplantation are necessary.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2007;50(7):1044-1047
The ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) is one of the notorious complications of assisted reproduction procedure. Severe and moderate OHSS associated with a spontaneous pregnancy is rare. We experienced a case of two normal, spontaneously conceived pregnancies with OHSS and her past obstetric history included prior spontaneous OHSS in the first trimester and term vaginal delivery of normal baby.

The Korean Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery 1998;31(8):756-762
BACKGROUND: The authors studied factors that affected operative mortality and clinical course by analysis of 98 patients who had underwent total correction of TOF at department of thoracic surgery, Pusan Paik hospital from Sept, 1985 to Aug, 1996 to predict the outcome of operation and improve the result of total correction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: To analyse the factors that affect operative mortality, patients were divided into two groups, non-survivor (group I) and survivor (group II), compared body surface area (BSA), aortic clamping time (ACT), total bypass time (TBT), preoperative PRV/LV, postoperative PRV/LV, operation method between them. These same patients were also divided into two groups, group A (non-survivor or severe complication group) and B (survivor and only mild complication group), comparing the same items. RESULTS: There were statistical differences between group I and II about postoperative PRV/LV as 0.67+/-0.13, 0.46+/-0.15. There were statistical differences between group A and B about postoperative PRV/LV as 0.62+/-0.12, 0.44+/-0.15. Transventricular cases were predominant in group A, transatrial cases in group B (p<0.01). CONCLUSIONS: We suggested that the operative results of TOF were better in cases of lower postoperative PRV/LV and transatrial approach.
