Korean Journal of Dermatology 1987;25(2):274-278
Herein we report a 51-year-old male with angioimmunoblastic lymphadenopathy who had developed rnaculopapular eruptions after the administration of crystalline penicillin, acetylsalicylic acid and sulpyrine. Skin biopsy showed mild lyrnphohistiocytic infiltration and extravasated RBCs around the blood vessels in the upper dermis. He had run a progressively downhill course in spite of vigorous chemotherapy and ultimately died.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1986;24(5):671-673
Fiddler's neck was first described by Peachey and Matthews in 1978 to denote a condition characterized by focal lichenification and pigmentation on the left side of violinist and violist neck just below the angle of the jaw. The etiologic facters are friction, local pressure, occlusion, poor hygiene and sweating. In only a few cases has a specific hypersensitivity to one or more of the ch!n rest material(wood, lacquer, dye) or the metallic fixing been found responsible. We report a case of 15-year-old female patient with Fiddler's neck who has played the violin for 8 years.

The vermilion border of the lips has a modifed epithelium, which is much more likely to develop allergic contact sensitivity reactions than oral mucosa. Allergens in contact with both the oral mucosa and the lips oftens produce only cheilitis. Allergic contact cheilitis may result from topical medicaments, dentifrices, cosmetics, foods, plants or metals. We present six cases of allergic contact cheilitis confirmed by patch test. The toot4paste was incriminated in 2 cases, the lipstick in 3 cases and the bubble gum in one rase as producing chelitis respectively.

Korean Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 1993;13(3):567-572
The usefulness of microscopic examination of pure bile directly collected from the biliary tract during endoscopic retrograde cholangiography and without hormonal stimulation was evaluated in 86 patients. Cholesterol monohydrate crystal and/or calcium bilirubinate granule were observed in the bile of 64% of GB stones, 88% of CBD stones and l00% of IHD stones. But only 4% of non stone control group were positive crystals examinations. According to this results, microscopic examinations:of bile samples collected during endoscopic retrograde cholangiography exhibited a sensitivity and a specificity for cholelithiasis recognition of 82.3% and 95.8%, respectively, with a positive and negative predictive value of 98.1% and 67.6%, respectively. We conclude that microscopic bile examinations of bile samples collected during ERC is useful to investigate in patients with suspected cholelithiasis.

Korean Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy 1993;13(1):21-30
Despite significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of various malignancies, the management of esophageal cancer remains one of the least responsive malignancies, Unfortunately complete excision of the tumor is impossible, because expandable anatomic structures are involved early when the diagnosis is made. Prurigo pigmentosa is a chror ic pruritic inflammatory dermatosis characterized by erythematous papules in a reticulated pattern that resolve leaving a reticulated, mottled hyperpigmentation and rapidly response to dapsone therapy. Most cases that have been reported are from Japan. We report two cases of prurigo pigmentosa in a 21 year-old female and a 23-year-old female. Histopathologic findings of erythematous papules showed exocytosis, spongiosis, liquefaction degeneration of basal cell layer and perivascular lymphohistiocytic infiltration on the upper dermis. We treated them with dapsone, 100mg daily, which resulted in a remarkable regression of the ery thematous papules and improvenien of pruritus.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1993;31(5):806-811
Cutaneous manifestations of sarcoidosis are highly variable and can be devided into the specific lesions which reveal noncaseating granuloma and the nonspecific lesio is which are referred to as cutaneous changes. Among speciific lesions, annular lesions may be foimied from coalescing papular lesions that may clear centrally and elevate peripherally. We report a case of sarcoidosis with multiple annular lesions on the face in a 33-year-old female who had systemic involvements in the intrathoracic organs and eyes. The main histopathologir. findings were well-demarcated islands of epitheloid cells with a few giant cells in the dermis. In addition, a slight admixfure of lymphoid cells was present at the margins of the epitheloid cell granulomas. Complete regression of t!he skin lesions was obtained with systemic cortiocosteroid therapy and no recurrence has been found for 2 1/2years.

A 44 year-old male without a specific past history demonstrated violaceous colored. angulated flat papules in a zosteriform arrangement along the medial aspect of left arm and upper anterior chest for 3 months. In addition, whitish patches with a lace-like pattern were seen on the buccal mucosa. The histopathologic findings were characteristic of lichen planus. The zosteriform lichen planus is a rare variant of lichen planus, Especially, it has been rarely observed in cases that developed without a previous history of herpes zoster or factors that lead to the Koebner phenoinenon In this context, it piqued our scientific curiousity enough to investigate it.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1993;31(3):439-443
Kaposi's sarcoma is a neoplasm of multifocal origin which manifest primarily as vascular nodules in the skin and other organs. We report a case of Kaposis sarcoma of classic type in a 17-year-old boy, who had a 4 x 5cm sized, dusky erythematous plaque with multiple spots of acupuncture on the left foot for 1 year. Histopathologic examination showed dilated, bizarre-shaped vessels, ndothelial cell proliferation, and spindle cell formation with vascular slits throughout the dermis. He was treated with 3000 rads of radiation(300 rad per day for l0 successive days). Six months after radiotherapy, gross findings were much improved and histopathologic findings showed only fibrosismc hemosiderin deposits in the dermis.
