1.Primarily results of surgery of hypertrophy simple goiter with complication
Journal of Practical Medicine 2000;392(12):64-66
A study on the clinical, paraclinical and epidemiological features of 68 patients with hypertrophy simple goiter with complication in Hue hospital during 1996-1998 has shown that the disease occurred mainly in the women with ages of 31-50. The goiter accompanying with the nuclear accounted for high rate, especially multinuclear. The operation indicated for cases of goiter with pressing the neck region or with nuclear. The results of postoperative monitoring within 4 months found good (86,8%), normal (8,8%) and poor (4,4%).

Objective: Recently, holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP) has been established as one method of endoscopic surgery for the treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). The purpose of our study was to assess initial clinical experiences with HoLEP at our hospital.;Patients and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted of 28 patients with obstructive symptoms due to BPH who underwent HoLEP during the 13 months between February 2004 and March 2005.;Results: The mean age of the patients was 67.4 years (range 59 to 78 years). The mean enucleation tissue weight was 24.3 g (range 2 to 95 g), and the average operation time was 94.1 minutes (range 40 to 268 minutes). The mean duration of postoperative catheterization was 3.4 days (range 1 to 6 days). The mean urine flow rate improved, and each patient's satisfaction for voiding, measured on a 5-point scale, was good. There were no major complications during the operations except one case, which was completed with TUR-P because of uncontrollable bleeding. No patients required transfusions. Long-term complications included five cases of stress incontinence (19%), four of urethral stricture (14%), and three temporary retention, two of which required re-catheterization (10%).;Conclusion: HoLEP can be performed without major intraoperative complications. It is an effective treatment for obstructive symptoms due to BPH. However, there are many postoperative problems that must be resolved, including stress incontinence and urethral stricture because of our lack of experience, with HoLEP.

Journal of the Korean Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery 2003;9(1):22-26
Nipple hypertrophy is not a common condition in male but it can cause psychological and social disturbances to young male patients and hinder them from participating in various recreational activities. The main goal of nipple reduction is cosmesis in male, but functional goals are more important in females. Several methods1-5 of reduction have been described. However very few 6-8 adress the problem of male nipple hypertrophy. In our report, we have described the technique for nipple hypertrophy in male using sinusoidal wave form excision and purse-string suture method. We have used this technique for a male nipple hypertrophy patient and had good aesthetic result without any postoperative complications.

Adenoid hypertrophy is a disease that mostly occurs among children of 3-5 years old. It is caused by repeated inflammation and infection of nasopharynx and its adjoin parts, or the adenoid itself, which will finally leads to pathological hyperplasia of adenoid. With so much information we have acquired about this disease, its specific mechanism remains unknown. In recent years, some researches have indicated that adenoid hypertrophy may have something to do with extra-gastroesophageal reflux, in which pepsin plays a very important role, and pepsin will do a series of pathological damages to the upper airway as it reaches the upper respiratory tract. Based on relative domestic and foreign literature, this paper attempts to make a review about the relationship between gastroesophageal reflux and adenoid hypertrophy.

5.The value of terminal force of P wave in V1 lead in the diagnosis of coal-worker's pneumoconiosis with pulmonary heart disease complicated by left ventricular hypertrophy.
Chinese Journal of Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Diseases 2012;30(1):64-65
OBJECTIVETo determine the value of terminal force of P wave in V1 lead (Ptf-V1) in the diagnosis of coal-workers' pneumoconiosis with pulmonary heart disease complicated by left ventricular hypertrophy.
METHODSSelect the coal-worker with pneumoconiosis postmortem examination cases which were pathologically diagnosed as pulmonary heart disease complicated by left ventricular hypertrophy and can measure Ptf-V1. Select 14 cases with ECG left axis deviation, no deviation and right axis deviation. Measure and analyze the Ptf-V1 value, the thickness of left and right ventricular wall.
RESULTSThere's obvious discrepancy in ventricular wall thickness mean in ECG left axis deviation, no deviation and right axis deviation groups, the discrepancy have statistical significance (F1 = 32.18, P < 0.01, F2 = 8.02, P < 0.01). The left ventricular wall is thicker in ECG left axis deviation group [(1.81 +/- 0.18) cm] than in no deviation [(1.47 +/- 0.15) cm] and right axis deviation groups [(1.39 +/- 0.10) cm], the discrepancy have statistical significance with (P < 0.01). The right ventricular wall is thicker in ECG left axis deviation group [(0.79 +/- 0.14) cm] than in no deviation group [(0.58 +/- 0.14) cm], the discrepancy have statistical significance with (P < 0.01). The right ventricular wall is thicker in ECG right axis deviation group [(0.71 +/- 0.14) cm] than in no deviation group, the discrepancy have statistical significance with (P < 0.05). ECG left axis deviation Ptf-V1 relevance ratio 85.71% is higher than in no deviation (35.70%) and right axis deviation groups (28.57%), the discrepancy have statistical significance with (P < 0.01). The Ptf-V1 absolute value is positively related with left ventricular wall thickness in ECG left axis deviation and no deviation groups (r1 = 0.92, P < 0.01, r2 = 0.93, P < 0.01).
CONCLUSIONPft-V1 absolute value is the criterion index of left ventricular morphosis and function especially left atrium loading change. ECG Ptf-V1 combined with ECG left axis deviation is valuable to the diagnosis of coal-workers with pneumoconiosis complicated by left ventricular hypertrophy.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(14):1315-1318
Otitis media with effusion (OME), a kind of inflammatory disease of the middle ear, is characterized by the retention of middle ear effusions and hearing loss. There are many factors involved in the development of OME including bacterial infection, formation of bacterial biofilms, eustachian tube dysfunction, adenoid hypertrophy, immune system disorders. Recently, some studies showed that gastroesophageal reflux has correlation with OME.

OBJECTIVE:
To evaluate the condition of subclinical cardiac damage in children with primary hypertension and the association between serum uric acid and subclinical cardiac damage.
METHODS:
A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical data of 55 children who were hospitalized and diagnosed with primary hypertension in the Department of Cardiology, Children's Hospital of Soochow University from January 2015 to June 2020. Forty-five healthy children, matched for age and sex, were enrolled as the control group. The two groups were compared in terms of clinical features, laboratory examination, and parameters for left ventricular structure, systolic function, and diastolic function. The correlation of serum uric acid with the parameters for left ventricular structure, systolic function, and diastolic function in children with primary hypertension was analyzed.
RESULTS:
Compared with the control group, the hypertension group had significantly higher left ventricular mass (LVM), left ventricular mass index (LVMI), and relative wall thickness (RWT) (
CONCLUSIONS
Children with primary hypertension may have subclinical cardiac damage such as left ventricular hypertrophy, left ventricular diastolic dysfunction, left atrial enlargement, and proximal aortic dilation. Elevated serum uric acid is significantly associated with cardiac damage in children with primary hypertension.
