3.Local bacterial flora changes in the experimental supraficial thermal burn under hyperbaric oxygen
Journal of Practical Medicine 2002;242(6):81-82
16 adult rabbits induced the experimental superficial thermal burn was randomly divided into 2 groups: group I treated by hyperbasic oxygen combining with saline and group II (control) only treated by saline. The bacterial tests implemented after 3,7 and 14 days of the treatment have shown that the hyperbasic oxygen inhibited the common bacteria in the infected burns. In the 14 days, the rate of burns infected S.aureus and P.acruginosa and number of bacterials/1cm2 of burn surface in the group I was less this in group II (control).

Chinese Journal of Medical Instrumentation 2022;46(1):47-51
In order to effectively prevent the damage to the human body caused by abnormal oxygen concentration in the medical hyperbaric oxygen chamber, a ZigBee-based medical hyperbaric oxygen chamber oxygen concentration automatic control system is designed. The data acquisition module uses the microprocessor STM32F103C8T6 to receive the oxygen concentration data of each acquisition point, and the ZigBee of the data processing module transmits the processing results to the MSP430G2553 single-chip microcomputer at the receiving end of the slave. The MSP430G2553 single-chip microcomputer uses a self-organizing TS fuzzy neural network (SOTSFNN) and adds activation. The intensity concept realizes automatic control of the oxygen concentration in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, and controls the buzzer to give an alarm when the oxygen concentration is lower than 19 mg/L and higher than 23 mg/L, and displays the current real-time oxygen concentration through LCD12864. The experimental results show that as the communication distance increases, the packet loss rate of the system is always lower than 5%, and the signal strength under the same communication distance is better; the system can effectively control the oxygen concentration value within the set range, and the oxygen concentration. The control accuracy is high and the stability is good.

7.Effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on human psychomotor performance: A review.
Journal of Integrative Medicine 2023;21(5):430-440
Psychomotor performance is the coordination of a sensory or ideational (cognitive) process and a motor activity. All sensorimotor processes involved in planning and execution of voluntary movements need oxygen supply and seem to be significantly disrupted in states of hypoxia. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has become a widely used treatment in routine medicine and sport medicine due to its beneficial effects on different aspects of human physiology and performance. This paper presents state-of-the-art data on the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on different aspects of human psychomotor function. The therapy's influence on musculoskeletal properties and motor abilities as well as the effects of hyperbaric oxygenation on cognitive, myocardial and pulmonary functions are presented. In this review the molecular and physiological processes related to human psychomotor performance in response to hyperbaric oxygen are discussed to contribute to this fast-growing field of research in integrative medicine. Journal of the Korean Neurological Association 2003;21(1):77-81
BACKGROUND: Recompression therapy is well established in the treatment of decompression sickness (DCS) including spinal type. However it was not confirm whether each United State Navy (USN) treatment tables had different therapeutic effect in spinal type of DCS. The purpose of this study is to find if the use of different tables results in a different outcome in spinal type of DCS. And we want to reconfirm an unsatisfactory cure rate of USN table 6. METHODS: We applied different USN treatment tables, 6, 6a and 6a1, to spinal type of DCS for 10 years. 68 patients with spinal type of DCS were treated with recompression therapy, 16 patients by table 6, 31 by 6a, and 21 by 6a1. We reviewed the outcome of motor power before and after each treatment. And we investigated age, diving experience, depth of dive, bottom time of dive, and onset of treatment before the treatment in each treatment group. RESULTS: There were no significant differences between each treatment group in age, diving experience, depth of dive, bottom time of dive, onset of treatment and the grade of motor power before the treatment. Marked motor power improvements were noticed in 59.6% (table 6; 18.7%, 6a; 74.2%, and 6a1; 81%). There were significant differences of motor power improvement between groups 6 and 6a (p=0.0057), 6 and 6a1 (p=0.0053) and 6a and 6a1 (p=0.0139). CONCLUSIONS: We think that table 6a1 should be used in spinal type of DCS. And table 6 is not useful in spinal type DCS.

9.Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss after Failure from Oral and Intratympanic Corticosteroid.

Clinical and Experimental Otorhinolaryngology 2012;5(Suppl 1):S99-S102
Systemic and intratympanic steroids are most widely used for treating idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss. Other treatments include vasodilator, immunosuppressant and antiviral medication. However, only 61% of patients achieve full recovery, and controversies about the standard treatment still exist. In this case report, we present a patient with idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss who failed to respond to systemic and intratympanic steroid treatments but subsequently recovered after undergoing hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
