The term endometriosis refers to ectopic endometriume. It most often involves the pelvic organs, including ovaries, broad and round ligaments, fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina and the pouch of Douglas. We report a case of vesical endometriosis in a 4- year old female patient and review literature. Segmental resection of this mass with involved bladder resulted in cure and this lesion was confirmed histologically as endometriosis of the bladder.

Korean Journal of Urology 1987;28(5):683-686
Inverted papilloma of the urinary tract is a unique and rare tumor. It is generally considered a benign lesion, although previous reports have alluded to the possibility of malignant change. The lesion is believed to arise mainly from trigon and bladder outlet as a result of chronic. proliferative cystitis. The most commonly associated clinical symptoms are hematuria and those of urinary obstruction. We report two cases of vesical inverted papilloma which were proved histologically.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: The annual risk of transformation of non-hypervascular magnetic resonance (MR) hepatobiliary phase imaging (HBPI) hypointense nodules into hypervascular hepatocellular carcinomas (HCCs) was evaluated. METHODS: Cirrhotic patients with non-hypervascular HBPI hypointense nodules were retrospectively analyzed if they were diagnosed as HCC and MR followed up longer than 1 year during the period from January 2010 to October 2016 with regular intervals of 3 to 6 months. Risk factors for transformation into hypervascular HCCs were analyzed using the Cox proportional hazard model. RESULTS: Among the 103 non-hypervascular HBPI hypointense nodules meeting the inclusion criteria, transformation into hypervascular HCCs occurred in 44 tumors (42.7%). The median follow-up period was 24 months. Multivariate analysis revealed that hyperintensity on T2-weighted images (T2WI) and diffusion-weighted images (DWI) were the two independent predictors of transformation into hypervascular HCCs (p=0.036 and p=0.041, respectively). Most tumors with hyperintensity on T2WI or DWI on the initial or follow-up MR were transformed into hypervascular HCCs within the first year. Among the 22 nodules (21.3%) showing a new change in dynamic phases during follow-up, 14 nodules (13.6%) showed malignant transformations. CONCLUSIONS: The transformation rates of HBPI hypointense nodules into hypervascular HCCs could be predicted according to the initial or serial MRI findings.

Heterophyid metacercarial infections in brackish water fishes, i.e., perch, shad, mullet, redlip mullet, and goby, of Jinju-man (Bay), Kyongsangnam-do, Korea, were investigated using a digestion technique. Among 45 perch (Lateolabrax japonicus), the metacercariae of Heterophyopsis continua were found in 55.6% (18.5 metacercariae per fish), Stictodora spp. in 28.9% (3.6), and Metagonimus takahashii in 6.7% (17.0). The metacercariae of H. continua were detected in 23 (65.7%) of 35 shad (Konosirus punctatus). Among 15 mullet (Mugil cephalus), the metacercariae of Pygidiopsis summa were found in 100% (105.9 metacercariae per fish), Heterophyes nocens in 40.0% (8.5), H. continua in 13.3%, and Stictodora spp. in 6.7%. Among 12 redlip mullet (Chelon haematocheilus), the metacercariae of P. summa were detected in 91.7% (1,299 metacercariae per fish), H. nocens in 16.7%, and Stictodora spp. in 16.7%. Among 35 gobies (Acanthogobius flavimanus), the metacercariae of Stictodora spp. were found in 82.9% (44.5 metacercariae per fish), and H. continua in 25.7% (2.8). The adult flukes recovered from a cat experimentally infected with metacercariae from perches were compatible with M. takahashii. The results confirm that the estuarine fish in Jinju-man (Bay) are heavily infected with heterophyid metacercariae. Furthermore, it was found for the first time that the perch acts as a second intermediate host for M. takahashii.

Journal of Korean Neurosurgical Society 1980;9(1):321-326
Tuberculoma, once the most frequent cause of intracranial mass lesion, are now rare. Except in cases in which meningitis develops owing to extension to the subarachnoid space, the symptoms of them are those of an expanding cerebral or cerebellar mass. A 18 years old female was admitted to Chungnam National University Hospital complaining of headache and severe vomiting. Neurological examination showed severe papilledema, trunkal ataxia and mild ataxic gait. Chest P-A and skull X-rays showed non specific finding. Total removal of mass in right cerebellar hemisphere after exploration of posterior fossa was done and it was confirmed of tuberculoma histologically. Postoperative course was uneventful and discharged with good health.

Primary rhabdomyosarcoma of the frontal and temporal bone is very rare. Rhabdomyosarcoma is usually a relentless, progressive which results in death of patients in a relatively short time. The authors report a case of rhabdomyosarcoma arisen right frontotemporal bone and reviewed the literatures.

8.Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasm Detected due to the Protrusion of Mucin, in the Absence of Appendiceal Distension: A Case Report

Journal of Digestive Cancer Report 2020;8(2):109-111
A mucocele is a cystic dilatation of the vermiform appendix that contains mucous material. The symptoms associated with it are not specific and the diagnosis is seldom made prior to surgery. The reported prevalence in appendectomy specimens procured during surgery is 0.2-0.3%. Recently, we experienced a case of patient with appendiceal mucocele detected by colonoscopic examination. This case did not show typical colonoscopic features of a mucocele, demonstrating protrusion of mucin, in the absence of a smooth mound with normal overlying mucosa surrounding the appendiceal orifice. The case involved a 64-year-old woman who underwent a colonoscopy. An abdominopelvic computed tomography scan suggested a normal appendix. Subsequently, we performed an appendectomy. The pathologic finding was a low-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm.

Leiomyosarcomas of the ovarian vein are very rare. Four cases have been reported in the English language clinical literature. We present a case of leiomyosarcomas where the use of multi-detector CT had a substantial role in the establishment of the preoperative diagnosis. The radiological images as well as intraoperative features are illustrated. We also discuss the radiological findings of the ovarian vein leiomyosarcoma in comparison with those of other venous or retroperitoneal leiomyosarcomas. We expect that the use of multi-detector CT will be the choice for the diagnostic work-up of vascular leiomyosarcomas.
