2.Influence of Job Stress and Depression on Suicide Ideation of Women-workers in Service Industries.
Korean Journal of Occupational Health Nursing 2014;23(3):189-196
PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship of job stress, depression and to identify factors influencing suicide ideation of women-workers. METHODS: The research was a cross-sectional, descriptive study. Data collection was done using self-report questionnaires with 348 women-workers who agreed to participate in the study. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, chi2-test, logistic regression analysis by using SPSS/WIN 18.0. RESULTS: The results showed, among the independent variables, drinking, job stress, depression are significant factors that influence women-workers' suicide ideation. Women-workers' depression is 3.05 times higher (p<.002), and job stress 1.03 times higher suicide ideation (p<.045), and drinking 2.15 times higher suicidal ideation (p<.006). CONCLUSION: The results indicate that suicide ideation is highly prevalent in women-workers, especially among people with depression and job stress. It is necessary to seek how to prevent and manage womenworkers' suicide ideation considering features.

Journal of the Korean Academy of Family Medicine 1997;18(5):511-520
BACKGROUND: Family physicians help the patients to be adapted to a new life cycle with anticipatory guidance. But the later life of empty nest stage seems to be the most stressful since during this time is made preparation of his/her own death. Anticipatory guidance in later life for death is not encouraged because after death, the patient no longer exists. METHODS: From August 1, 1995 to August 31,1995, we gathered the data by the means of questionnaire to persons aged over 60 who visited the department of family medicine and geriatric center in Yong-dong Severance Hospital. The questionnaire was consisted of demographic factors, attitude toward death, fear of death, preparation of death in aspect of his/her own and also in his/her family. RESULTS: The total 104 subjects responded to the questionnaire, consisting of 58 males and 46 females. To the question asking the attitude tpward death, 71(67.6%)answered death as a spiritually new life, 39(37.1%)as an end of life and 11(10.5%)as just and event in life. 75(72.1%)persons insisted the need of preparation of death, and the content of the preparation were consideration of the family 35(33.3%), preparation of mind 34(32.4%), devotion to religion 33(31.4%), arrangement of fortune 19(18.1%). The answer about the fear of death was 42(40.0%)and the reasons for fear were pain of death 26(24.8%), separation from the family 19(18.1%), uncertainty of the nature after death 17(16.2%), suffering of the family 10(9.5% ) in rank order. The contents of preparation of death as family were being together with dying person 57(45.7%), evangelizm 32(30.5%), helping arrangement of life 30(28.6%), and the answer about fear of death of family were pain of death 40(37.1%), regret 31(26.5%), lack of preparation of after death 22(21.1%), loneliness after separation 14(13.3%). CONCLUSIONS: Family physicians should recognize death as one of the life cycles because the most persons insist of the need of preparation of death. So family physician can help the the patient prone to death by anticipatory guidance with stimulation of performance of developmental tasks.

Kallmann syndrome is characterized by hypogonadotropic hypogonadism resulting from insufficient release of GnRH and associated with anosmia or hyposmia. We experienced two cases of Kallmann syndrome with abnormal brain MRI findings(olfactory bulb aplasia) & secondary sexual dysfunction.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1999;33(3):225-227
Nasal chondromesenchymal hamartoma is a distinctive mixed mesenchymal lesion of sinonasal region with a complex histologic appearance and benign clinical course and clinicopathologically similar to those of the mesenchymal hamartoma of the chest wall of infancy. We report a case of nasal chondromesenchymal hamartoma occurred in the right nasal cavity in a 3-month-old female. She was admitted with a history of profuse nasal bleeding and obstruction. CT revealed complex solid and cystic mass, measuring 3.5x2.5x2.5 cm in dimensions which filled the right nasal cavity and extended into ethmoid sinus and cribriform plate. The received piecemeal fragments of tissue were brown tan-colored firm semitranslucent tissue with a cartilaginous appearance. Microscopically, the basic morphologic elements were irregular islands of hyaline cartilage and myxoid to spindle cell stroma with various cellularity.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 1999;42(8):1820-1822
Myometrial pregnancy developing in an previous cesarean section scar is the rarest of all ectopic pregnancy and provavly one of the most dangerous because of the risk of rupture and hemorrhage. For a young patient wanting to maintain her fertility, an earlier diagnosis and more conservative treatment are highly desirable. We present a case of an ectopic pregnancy embedded in the myometrium of a previous cesarean section scar in which the patient preserved her fertility through more noninvasive method, transvaginal ultrasound-guided Methotrexate injection.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1989;23(1):36-42
This study was performed with the purpose of histochemical comparison of CEA and EMA localization between adenoma and well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the stomach. The specimen was 12 lesions of adenoma and 15 foci of well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the stomach. The markers in neoplastic tissue and neighbouring mucosa of the tumors were examined in paraffin sections using peroxidase-antiperoxidase method. The data obtained were evaluated statistically. The results were summarized as follows: 1) In 12 lesions of stomach adenoma, the positive reaction to CEA was seen in 3 lesions (20.0%), and to EMA in 10 lesions (83.3%). The positive rate of CEA in adenoma was lower than that of the neighbouring normal mucosa, but the positive rate of EMA was similar between the two. 2) In 15 foci of well-differentiated adenocarcinoma of the stomach, the positive reaction to CEA was seen in 13 foci (86.7%), and to EMA in 12 foci (80.0%). The positive rate of CEA in well-differentiated adenocarcinoma was higher than that of the neighbouring normal mucosa, while the positive rate of EMA was similar to each other. 3) Immunoreactivity to CEA in adenocarcinoma showed good positive correlation with the development of cuticular border of the neoplastic glands, while reactivity to EMA in adenocarcinoma was not related with the development of cuticular border. 4) The positive rate and intensity of CEA reaction in adenocarcinoma were higher than those in adenoma, but the positive rate and reactiveity of EMA were similar to those of adenoma. 5) The positive rate of CEA or EMA in the neighbouring mucosa of adenoma was not different compared with those in the neighbouring mucosa of adenocarcinoma. With the above results, it is concluded that adenoma and adenocarcinoma of the stomach may be different each other, biologically, and further more, it is presumable that adenoma may not be a premalignant lesions. It is considered that examination of CEA immunoreactivity may be helpful in differentiated of adenoma from well-differentiated adenocarcinoma, in most cases.
