PURPOSE: This study was to serve the sexual health education of the hysterectomy patients and to get the basic data of the nursing intervention on sexual health education. Sexual health education for the patients is an independent function as well as a professional responsibility of nurses. METHOD: The subjects were composed of 108 post-op patients who had undergone doing a hysterectomy 5 to 10 days previously and 101 nurses at OBGY hospitals. For data analysis, the study executed a frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Duncan Multiple Range test and Spearman's rho correlation coefficient, in accordance with the purpose of the study using SPSS Win 10.0. RESULT: Mean score of the needs degree of sexual health education was 3.30 point. The need for education was highest in the sexual health promotion with education related to sexual interaction the lowest. Mean score of the nurses' teaching performance degree of sexual health education was 1.80 point. The nurses' teaching performance was highest in the sexual health promotion. There exist significant correlations between the degree of patients' educational needs and the degree of nurses' teaching performance on physiosexual (rho=-.667, p< .05), psychosexual (rho=.762, p< .05), sexual interaction (rho=.667, p< .05) respectively. There was no significant difference on sexual health promotion (rho=.359, p> .05). CONCLUSION: The degree of sexual health education needs of hysterectomy patients was very high. Therefore, continuous nursing education program should be developed and provided for the promotion of the performance of sexual health education as the nursing professional role.

PURPOSE: This study measures the subjectivity on stressful life events of middle- aged women. METHOD: Q-Methodological method was used for that purpose. As for the research method, Q-statements were collected reliminary to the study of through in-depth interviews and a literature review. For the study 38 Q-statements were selected. There were 28 middle aged women as subjects for the research. Q-Factor Analysis by using PC Quanl Program to supply the material. RESULT: Through the result of this study, the stressful life events of middle-aged women could be identified by 4 types. The type I is called the conflict in relationship with husband's family members. The type II is called lack of marital intimacy. The type III is called low self-esteem. The type IV is called changing life cycle itself. CONCLUSION: Therefore, identifing the subjectivity on the stressful life events of middle-aged women would be a basic step for the understanding of middle aged women.

Purpose: : This descriptive survey aims to identify the prevalence of factors associated with sarcopenia among hemodialysis patients. Methods: : The study subjects were 137 patients with chronic kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis in three artificial kidney centers in B and Y cities. Data were collected from August 1 to September 30, 2020, using the SARC-F (Strength, Assistant walking, Rising from a chair, Climbing stairs, Falls) questionnaire, Mini Nutritional Assessment-Short Form (MNA-SF), International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ-SF), Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA), and a grip dynamometer. The collected data were analyzed using t-tests, crossover analysis, and logistic regression using the IBM SPSS 23 program. Results: : The prevalence of sarcopenia among hemodialysis patients, determined using the SARC-F questionnaire, was 16.1%. The associated factors of sarcopenia among hemodialysis patients were found to be gender (OR=6.44, p =.002), age (OR=1.07, p =.015), nutritional status (OR=10.37, p =.027), and albumin level (OR=0.10, p =.014). These findings are supported by an explanatory power of 46.3% (p =.597). Conclusion : The identified risk factors for sarcopenia in hemodialysis patients were; sex, age, nutritional status, and albumin level. The findings of this study can serve as clinical evidence for the development of an intervention program for preventing and managing sarcopenia in patients undergoing hemodialysis.

PURPOSE: This study elicited Korean women's perceptions of the life situations that contribute to Hwabyung, a culture bound psychiatric illness in Korea, and delineated a typology of the perceived causative factors for this illness. METHOD: A purposive sample of 21 Korean women was recruited from a church, a senior center in Seoul and a clinic that provides traditional Korean and westernized medical services to patients in the Gyeonggi area. Inclusion criteria were: 1) the diagnosis of Hwabyung by a traditional doctor or "stress reaction and depression" by a westernized doctor; and 2) a score greater than 40 on the Hwabyung Self Report Instrument. Surveys using the HSRI and individual interviews using Q methodology were used. RESULT: The average age of the participants was 53.7 years (range 35-84). The mean score on the HSRI was 46.2 (range = 42-52). Data analysis showed that participants perceived three life situations to cause Hwabyung: vulnerable situation, lowered self esteem, and negative life events. CONCLUSIONS: Korean women, suffering from Hwabyung, perceived at least three different causal patterns for this illness. Nursing care plans should be tailored to meet these differences.

Angiosarcomas are rare tumors that are derived from vascular endothelial cells. They may occur in various sites, including the skin, breast, visceral organs and deep soft tissues. The pleura usually a metastatic site from angiosarcomas. However, thirty one cases of primary pleural angiosarcomas have been reported worldwide. Here, we report a 61-year-old man with a primary angiosarcoma of the pleura with a brief review of the literature.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of music therapy on anxiety, stress and maternal-fetal attachment in pregnant women during a transvaginal ultrasound. METHODS: This study was a nonequivalent control group nonsynchronized design. Pregnant women (n = 232) were assigned to experimental (n = 117) and control (n = 116) groups respectively. The data were collected from August 2 to 27, 2010. The experimental group received general prenatal care and single 30-minute session of music therapy, while the control group received only general prenatal care. Anxiety, stress, and maternal-fetal attachment was assessed using three self-report measures by State scale of the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (1976), Pregnant women's stress scale of Ahn (1984) and Cranley's (1981) maternal-fetal attachment scale. RESULTS: The music therapy group showed statistically significant decrease in anxiety compared to control group but no significant difference was identified in stress and maternal-fetal attachment. CONCLUSIONS: The finding provides evidence for use of nursing intervention in prenatal care unit to reduce pregnant women's anxiety. Further research is necessary to test the benefits of music therapy with different frequency and duration.

This study measures the subjectivity(opinions attitudes)of college women. Identifying the schemata(structure of subjectivity) would be a basic step for the women's health education and the promotion to alternative strategies of women's health nursing. More concretely, these following research questions are focused. 1) The subjective schemata: find out typologies based on the opinions and attitudes toward the health lifestyle. 2) Applications: describe the characteristics of each type. 3) Alternatives: provide suggestion of the promotion to alternative strategies for women's health nursing. Q-Methodological method was used for that purpose. As for the research method, Q-statements were preliminary collected in the study fro through in-depth interviews and a literature review. For the study 36 Q-statements were selected. 33 college women were used as subjects for research. the 33 college women sorted the 36 statements using the principle of forced Normal distribution. The principle of forced Normal Distribution, which has nine scales to measure the individual opinions, was called. Q-Factor Analysis by using PC Quanl Program to supply the material. According to the outcomes of this study, there were three categories of special opinions about the health lifestyle in college women. The first type is called Initiatived Health Management Type. the second type is called Social Activity Centered Type. the third type is called Positive Outlook Type. Through the result of this study, the health lifestyle could be identified by 3 types, therefore the nurses needed to understand each women's meaning to health lifestyle so they could develop the appropriate nursing intervention based the typology of the health lifestyle this study explore. Finally, the result of the study will provide clues for developing a nursing interventional program and alternative strategies for the health promotion lifestyle in college women.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships among variables of body image, self-esteem and depression in college female students according to the normal and overweight. METHOD: The subjects of this study consisted of 245 college female students. The data was collected through personal interviews using questionnaires from May to June of 2001. The data was analyzed by the SPSS computer program, and it included descriptive statistics, x2-test, t-test and the pearson correlation coefficient. RESULT: Demographics provided a significant difference in grade, household income, weight control experience. There was a perceived health status difference, according to the normal and overweight subjects. There was a significant difference in body image, self-esteem and depression between the two groups. There was a significant positive correlation between body image and self-esteem, and negative correlation between body image and depression, and self-esteem and depression in college female students. CONCLUSION: The Findings of this study give useful information to construct further studies in intervention program relating overweight control for college female students.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Kangaroo Care(KC) on anxiety, maternal role confidence, and maternal infant attachment of mothers who delivered preterm infants. METHODS: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest. Data was collected from September 1. 2006 to June 20. 2007. The participants were 22 mothers in the experimental group and 21 in the control group. KC was applied three times per day, for a total of ten times in 4 days to the experimental group. RESULTS: The degree of anxiety was statistically significantly different between the two groups but maternal role confidence and maternal infant attachment was statistically insignificant. CONCLUSION: This data suggests that KC was effective for mothers anxiety relief but it was not effective for maternal role confidence and maternal infant attachment of mothers. The implications for nursing practice and directions for future research need to be discussed.
