Journal of the Korean Pediatric Cardiology Society 2000;4(1):78-80
A case of supracardiac type of total anomalous pulmonary venous return into the superior vena cava is reported which was successfully diagnosed using spiral CT and three-dimensional image reconstruction. Spiral CT with three-dimensional reconstruction is non-invasive method of visualizing the vascular system and in some instances can replace conventional angiography in pediatric patients.

Angiosarcomas are rare tumors that are derived from vascular endothelial cells. They may occur in various sites, including the skin, breast, visceral organs and deep soft tissues. The pleura usually a metastatic site from angiosarcomas. However, thirty one cases of primary pleural angiosarcomas have been reported worldwide. Here, we report a 61-year-old man with a primary angiosarcoma of the pleura with a brief review of the literature.

4.Effectiveness of the Preprocessed Foods on Productivity and Satisfaction in School Foodservices.
Journal of the Korean Dietetic Association 2009;15(3):262-277
Fresh-cut foods have been widely used in the school foodservice industry due to their convenience and saving effects of labor and working hours. This study evaluated the effectiveness of using fresh-cut foods in school foodservice with respect to cost efficiency, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and productivity. First, in terms of cost efficiency, the cost of the fresh-cut food per meal price significantly increased by 2.6% via the new production plan. Meanwhile, the costs of labor and food wastes significantly decreased by 3.0% and 0.3%, respectively, after implementing the new plan. Second, customer satisfaction towards foodservice significantly increased, from 2.94 points prior to the new plan to 3.45 points. Third, foodservice productivity such as of the number of meals per full-time equivalent employee increased by 5.7 meals, from 143.0 meals to 148.7 meals after intervention. The productivity index of work hours for producing a meal also increased and was reflected by a work time reduction of 0.77 minutes, specifically from 4.25 minutes to 3.48 minutes. The labor cost per meal also decreased by 29.9 won, from 331.91 won to 301.97 won, but there was no significant difference. Through these results, we identified that using pre-process foods in school foodservice has positive effects on labor saving, customer satisfaction, and employee work satisfaction.

6.The Perception for Management of School Foodservice Using of Environmentally Friendly Agricultural Products of Elementary School Children's Mothers in Gunsan.
Korean Journal of Community Nutrition 2008;13(6):867-878
The purpose of this study was to compare the degree of understanding about school foodservice management and environmentally friendly agricultural products between urban and rural elementary school children's mothers. The subjects were 280 elementary school children's mothers who lived in Gunsan city and the nearby countryside. The results are summarized as follows. The mothers in urban schools were higher on the degree of participation (p < 0.01) and interest (p < 0.01), but were lower on the degree of satisfaction (p < 0.001) for school foodservice than rural ones. The best improvement of school foodservice management was improving food tastes and qualities of the foodstuffs in urban schools and sanitation at the service area in the rural schools (p < 0.001). The school foodservice program contributed to cure the unbalanced diets and developing of bodies and minds; there was no difference of urban and rural schools. But eating habits in rural schools were more improved than urban schools (p < 0.001). The primary reason for using environmentally friendly agricultural products was to improve their health and in securing safe foods, there was no difference of urban and rural schools, but generating the farmer's income from the products in rural schools was higher than urban schools (p < 0.001). There are conflicting views between urban and rural schools for the additional costs brought by using the environmentally friendly agricultural products (p < 0.001). The order of preference on using environmentally friendly agricultural products was rice and various grains, vegetables, fruits, livestock, seasoning, etc. In conclusion, our central and local governments should change their roles in financially positive ways and reflect the issues in making the policy effective. Responsible administrators of school food suppliers run the system more faithfully with the above government support.

Korean Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2004;47(7):1447-1449
Torsion of the follopian tube is an infrequent but significant cause of acute lower abdominal pain in females that is difficult to recognize preoperatively, although prompt diagnosis and timely sugical treatment are vital to salvage the oviduct. Unless a high index of suspicion is maintained for torsion of the fallopian tube in a adolescent females, this disorder may not be detected until after tubal destruction.

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumor of the female genital organ. Menorrhagia is the most common symptom associated with uterine fibroid. Since the first suggestion that embolization of uterine arteries might have a role in the management of fibroids by Ravina et al (France) in 1995,3 uterine artery embolization for management of fibroids has been performed actively in United states, United Kindom and Japan, and excellent therapeutic results have been reported. We have performed uterine artery embolization on patients with symptomatic fibroids or adenomyosis since August 1998. There have been few case reports of expelled fibroids out of vagina after uerine artery embolization, so we present a case in which successful embolization in woman with submucosal myoma resulted in a subsequent vaginal expulsion.

Journal of Korean Academy of Community Health Nursing 2006;17(1):56-64
PURPOSE: This study is to conduct a comparative analysis of influencing factors on the experience of mammography targeting ordinary women and outpatients. METHODS: The target subjects were 116 ordinary women and 105 outpatients, and the study period was around 8 months from May to December. RESULTS: When mammography experience was examined, it was found that mammography experience was conducted in 44.8% of ordinary women and 59.0% of outpatients, but this study showed that there was a statistically significant difference. When the relation between the characteristics of the targeted objects and the experience of mammography was examined, it was found that ordinary women have a lot of experience when they have regular exercises and a high health belief. On the other hand, in case of outpatients. mammography experience was more frequent in the older group. In addition, outpatients had experiences in breast-related diseases or high self-efficacy. It was also found that the influencing factors on the experience of mammography were a high health belief in case of ordinary women, and old ages and high self-efficacy in case of outpatients. CONCLUSIONS: In order to increase the rate of conducting early detection behavior for mammography, it is needed to conduct an intervention that increases health belief for ordinary women, while it is effective to conduct an intervention that increases self-efficacy for outpatients.

10.Developing a Statistical Software for Predicting Hospital Bankruptcy using Data Mining Tool.
Hye Jung CHANG ; Maeng Seok NOH
Journal of Korean Society of Medical Informatics 2001;7(3):9-16
Since the hospital bankruptcy rate is increasing, it has been an important issue to predict the bankruptcy of hospital using the existing hospital management information. Fortunately, the implementation of data mining methodology and decision support system(DSS) are becoming popular. Therefore, this study developed the statistical software for predicting hospital bankruptcy using data mining tool. Stepwise procedures were taken as follows: 1) adopting the HGLM and Logit Models; 2) implementing the input and output processes; 3) linking to the iBITs interface, the data miming tool; and 4) evaluating the software by fitting the hospital management data in practice. The software is written in Visual C++ 5.0 under windows NT/95, and allows the interconnection with other interfaces and libraries. This program initiates encouragement of implementation of DSS models using data mining methodology, in health care fields. This kind of software will play a pivotal role in improving the efficiency and adequacy of managing health care institutions.
