5.The Effects of Depression Intervention Programs for Breast Cancer Patients in Korea :A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Purpose:
This study aims to investigate and collect literature related to the effects of depression intervention programs on depression of breast cancer patients in Korea, and review these precedent studies on the effectiveness of depression intervention programs through meta-analysis.
Methods:
To achieve a systematic literature review, a review question was defined according to PICO-SD:“How do depression intervention programs affect depression reduction in breast cancer participants compared to the control group?” The subjects of this study were research papers on depression intervention programs, which were released in Korea between 1990 and February 2020. Through the literature quality assessment in accordance with the SIGN (2012) Guidelines on Quality Assessment, a total of 30 pieces were selected as the final subjects of this study. Result: The overall effect size of a total of 30 pieces was -3.92 (95% CI: -4.82, -3.03, p<.001), which indicates that these depression intervention programs have a great effect on depression reduction.
Conclusion
Intervention in depression of breast cancer patients in Korea is considered to contribute to improving the quality of their life and the ability to manage their symptoms, thus helping them have a positive meaning of life.
6.The lived experience of health-management in patients with Parkinson’s disease

Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to describe the health care experiences among patients with Parkinson’s disease.
Methods:
Of the qualitative research methods, Colaizzi’s phenomenological method was used in this study. A total of nine patients, who were diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and receiving outpatient treatment, were selected as the subjects of this study. Subsequently, data were collected through individual in-depth interview.
Results:
The four categories obtained as a result were ‘strenuous efforts to control my own body,’ ‘subject of health that no one can replace,’ ‘focus on the current while expecting a breakthrough in health management,’ and ‘human dignity that cannot be lost to the end.’
Conclusion
The study results are expected to help health care providers deeply understand the experiences in health care among patients with Parkinson’s disease and to provide source data for nursing intervention development that can be helpful in managing the health status of patients with Parkinson’s disease.

Background:
Hand eczema refers to eczema located on the hands, regardless of its etiology or morphology. Despite its high prevalence and significant impact on patients’ quality of life, treatment is frequently challenging because of its heterogeneity, chronic and recurrent course, and lack of well-organized randomized controlled trials of the various treatment options.
Objective:
These consensus guidelines aim to provide evidence-based recommendations on the diagnosis and management of hand eczema to improve patient care by helping physicians make more efficient and transparent decisions.
Methods:
A modified Delphi method, comprising two rounds of email questionnaires with face-to-face meetings in between, was adopted for the consensus process that took place between February and September 2020. Forty experts in the field of skin allergy and contact dermatitis were invited to participate in the expert panel.
Results:
Consensus was reached for the domains of classification, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment; and a therapeutic ladder to manage chronic hand eczema was developed.
Conclusion
These are the first consensus guidelines for chronic hand eczema in the Asian population, which will help standardize care and assist clinical decision-making in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic hand eczema.

9.Removal of Deep Orbital Tumor through Small Incision Approach.

PURPOSE: We report on the effectiveness of the small incision anterior approach for the deep orbital tumor. METHODS: The authors operated on 5 patients with deep orbital tumor using the small incision anterior approach. RESULTS: Five cases , 2 neurilemmomas, 1 orbital dermoid cyst, 1 angiofibroma, and 1 osteoma, were treated surgically with the small incision anterior approach and had good cosmetic result, early recovery, and showed no serious complications. CONCLUSIONS: The small incision anterior approach for the deep orbital tumor has a number of advantages over lateral orbitotomy, including shorter operation time, early recovery and good cosmetic results. Nevertheless, this technique requires a precise preoperative diagnosis.

10.Standard Performance Measurements of GE AdvanceTM Positron Emission Tomography.

PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to establish optimal imaging acquisition conditions for the GE Advance(TM) PET imaging system by performing the acceptance tests designed by National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) protocol and General Electric Medical Systems (GEMS) test procedures. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Performance tests were carried out with 18FDG radioactivity source and phantoms by using a standard acquisition mode. Transaxial resolution and scatter fraction tests were performed with a line source and axial resolution with a point source, respectively. A cylindrical phantom made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) was used to measure sensitivity, count rate losses and randoms, uniformity correction, and attenuation inserts were added to measure remaining tests. The test results were acquired in a diagnostic acquisition mode and analyzed mainly on high sensitivity mode. RESULTS: Transaxial resolution and axial resolution were measured as average of 4.65 mm and 3.98 mm at 0 cm, and 6.02 mm and 6.71 mm at 20 cm on high sensitivity mode, respectively. Average scatter fraction was 9.87%, and sensitivity was 225.8 kcps/micronCi/cc of trues. Activity at 50% deadtime was 4.6 Ci/cc, and the error of count rate correction at that activity was from 1.49% to 3.83%. Average nonuniformity for total slice was 8.37%. The accuracy of scatter correction was -0.95%. The accuracies of attenuation correction were 5.68% for air, 0.04% for water and -6.51% for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). CONCLUSION: The results satisfied most acceptance criteria, indicating that the GE AdvanceTM PET system can be optimally used for clinical applications.
