Korean Circulation Journal 1976;6(2):17-23
Tibric acid is a new oral hypolipidemic agent with the chemical name of 2-chloro-5(3,5-dimethyl piperidinosulfonyl) benzoic acid. The results of tibric acid administration in 22 patients with primary hyperlipidemia were as follows. 1) Serum triglyceride level was significantly decreased in 84.6% of 22 cases with an average 43.9% decrease in serum triglyceride. 2) Serum cholesterol level was decreased in 59.1% of 22 cases with an average 15.8% decrease in serum cholesterol. The decrease in serum cholesterol level was not significant. 3) It seemed that there were significant falls in the serum triglyceride of the hyperlipoproteinemia type IV and IIb patietns and in the serum cholesterol of type IIa patients 4) The side effects of tibric acid were indigestion, loose stool and anorexia. There was no side effects in 63.6% of cases.

Korean Circulation Journal 1975;5(1):31-35
The results of alpha-acetyldigoxin(Dioxanin(R)) administration in 21 patients with congestive heart failure were as follows. Alpha-acetyldigoxin is a new oral preparation of cardiac glycoside derived from lanatosid C. 1. For rapid digitalization in 2-3 days, the initial dose was 1.2 to 2.6mg (average 1.96mg). For medium-fast digitalization in 4 days, the loading dose was 2.0 to 3.2mg (average 2.7mg). For slow digitalization 0.1 to 0.4mg was required for 5 to 6 days without loading dose. The maintenance dose was 0.1 to 0.4mg (average 0.33mg) daily. 2. The therapeutic effect of acetyldigoxin was excellent in 15 cases (71%), good in 4 cases (20%) and stationary in 2 cases (9%). 3. Side effects were observed in 2 cases with usual dosage regimen. One accidental case who took single dose of 4mg(20 tablests) developed supraventricular tachycardia with varying degree of atrioventricular block, ventricular bigeminy and premature beat but recovered completely after 6 days.

We report a case of prenatal diagnosis of fetal congenital goiter at 31weeks of gestation by ultrasonogram and fetal hypothyroidism confirmed at birth as thyroid function test by umbilical cord blood sampling. Maternal Graves' disease and the drugs used to treat hyperthyroidism in pregnant women can affect the fetus, causing hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism and goiter. Fetal hypothyroidism may be caused by transplacental passage of either maternal thyrotropic-binding inhibitory immunoglobulin(TBII) antibodies or maternal treatment with propylthiouracil(PTU). Untreated fetal hypothyroidism may result in mental retardation, perceptual-motor, visual-spatial, and language developmental problems. In this article fetal thyroid function was not assessed by cordocentesis, but fetal congenital goiter was detected ultrasound. Ultrasound should be used to detect fetal goiter from 20 weeks onward. Fetal goiter should resolve when maternal PTU treatment is decreased. We have diagnosed fetal hypothyroidism in utero by ultrasonography. Significance of in utero management of fetal hypothyroidism is discussed.

8.Mediating effect of moral sensitivity on the relationship between nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence in nursing students
Journal of Korean Academic Society of Nursing Education 2023;29(2):180-189
Purpose:
The purpose of this study is to confirm the relationship between nursing students’ nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence, and to clarify the mediating effect of moral sensitivity which has a mutual influence on nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence.
Methods:
The data collection for this study was conducted from January 23 to February 1, 2021 with junior and senior nursing students enrolled in five nursing departments in two regions. The data collected in this study were analyzed using the IBM SPSS statistics version 23.0 program.
Results:
Through this study, it was found that nursing professionalism (β=.47) and moral sensitivity (β=.32) acted as important influencing factors on the ethical decision-making confidence of nursing students, with an explanatory power of 31.2%. In addition, it was confirmed that there was a partial mediating effect of moral sensitivity in the relationship between the nursing professionalism and ethical decision-making confidence of nursing students, and the mediating effect coefficient of moral sensitivity was .16.
Conclusion
Based on the results of the study, it is suggested to prepare a plan to increase ethical decision-making confidence and moral sensitivity when planning interventions to improve nursing professionalism in nursing students.

Heterotopic pregnancy, simultaneous intrauterine and extrauterine pregnancy, is an extremely rare case. The incidence of heterotopic pregnancy was about 1 to 30,000 pregnancies, but it has increased after wider use of assisted reproductive technology. The rising incidence presents a serious problem as the diagnosis of this potentially fatal condition is often missed. Careful pelvic examination combined with serial beta-hCG determinations, and transvaginal sonography to evaluate the adnexal region are necessary prerequisites for early diagnosis. We report a case of heterotopic pregnancy following in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer(IVF-ET) with a brief review of literature.

10.Immediate Conservative Breast Reconstruction Technique using Lateral Thoracodorsal Fasciocutaneous Flap.

Journal of Breast Cancer 2007;10(3):217-222
PURPOSE: A lateral thoracodorsal fasciocutaneous flap (LTFF) is a local fasciocutaneous flap that has been used in breast reconstructions since the 1980s. Although the LTFF is a wellstudied reconstruction procedure after radical surgery in Western countries, there is no report in Korea. By introducing the LTFF procedure, we suggest an easy reconstruction technique that can be performed by the breast surgeon directly. METHODS: Patients with lateral breast cancer and redundant lateral thoracic region might be candidates for this procedure. The flap consists of the lateral and dorsal extensions of the inframammarian fold as well as an extended line from the anterior axillary line. A quadrantectomy is performed through a planned skin incision, and an axillary lymph node dissection can be performed simultaneously if the sentinel lymph node is positive. The skin and subcutaneous fat with the fascia of the serratus anterior and latissimus dorsi muscle should be dissected carefully. A wedge-shaped flap can be acquired successfully. The lateral breast defect is then reconstructed by a rotation of the flap. The axis of the flap is drawn following the inframammarian fold so that the final scar would be under the brassiere line. RESULTS: Nineteen patients were treated with the LTFF after breast conserving surgery. All tumors were located in lateral breast regions. Seroma occurred in three and partial fat necrosis and partial flap necrosis were observed in each one. The cosmetic result based on four-point scoring system of breast cosmesis showed excellent in seventeen and good in two. CONCLUSION: Despite its long scar line, with appropriate patient selection, a LTFF might be a useful method for breast reconstructions.
