Yeungnam University Journal of Medicine 1993;10(1):135-143
The susceptibilities of 45 clinical isolates of bacteroidis fragilis to cefaclor, ciproflxacin and imipenem were determined by new method, E-test (AB Bidisk, Solna, Sweden) and were compared with those from conventional agar dilution method by using brain heart infusion, Mueller-Hinton and Wilk:..s Chalgren agar plates. And the susceptibility of 60 clinical isolates of bacteroides fragilis group (B. fragilis 45 strains, B. distasonis 6 strains, B. ovatus 5 strains, B. thetaiotaomicron 4 strains) to 5 quinolones (ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin, pefloxacin) were determined by in vitro agar dilution method. Compared with agar dilution MICs for B. fragilis 45 strains, 90.3% of E-test MICs were within +/- 1 dilution of the agar dilutions, and 98.4% were within 2 dilutions. And there were little effect of different medium bases to determine MICs except Mueller-Hinton agar. On Mueller-Hinton agar, B. fragilis showed have or no growth activity. In vitro susceptibility of B. fragilis group to quinolones, most of the test strains showed resistant patterns to quinolones except ofloxacin and there was little difference of susceptibility patterns between species of B. fragilis group.

4.Meningioma, Hemangiopericytic Type, with Bone Metastasis: A report of a case.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1991;25(1):59-67
Since Lebert stated, in 1851, that fibroblastic and sarcomatous tumors of the intracranial cavity had different survival times, many neuropathologists tried to set up histopathological grading system predicting the prognosis of the tumor of the nervous system. Especially, the histological assessment of the aggressiveness of meningiomas has not always been useful in conforming the biological characteristics of these tumors, and the definition of malignancy is still subject to controversy. However, metastases from meningioma to remote sites have always been considered rarities. The authors experienced a case of metastatic meningioma, hemangiopericytic type, with a history of recurrence. A forty years old male patient received a craniotomy to remove a mass in right parasagittal region, in June 1981. He had suffered from Jacksonian type of seizure started from left foot throuth leg, thigh, and arm to face. During operation, a well defined mass was noted in left parasagittal region with cleavage plane. The tumor was completely removed with cauterization of invasion site. In microscopic examination, the mass had typical findings of hemangiopericytic type of meningioma. In September 1987, he received a repeat operation to remove a recurred tumor mass in vertex, at age of forty-six. The removed tumor revealed same histologic features as those seen in primary tumor. In January 1990, at age of forty-nine, he noted pain and tenderness on the right iliac crest and the left iliac tuberosity, Plain pelvis AP x-ray ad Pelvis CT scan revealed osteolytic expansile mass lesions involving both iliac bones, the body of second sacral vertebra, and the right superior ramus of the pelvic bone. An open biopsy of the iliac bone was performed. The microscopic findings of the bone lesion were same as reccruent lesion of the brain.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1982;20(6):885-889
We herein describe two cases of sudoriparous angioma consisting of increased number of eccrine sweat glands associated with angiomatous vascular channels. Case 1 is a 16 year-old girl developing two, painful and tender cavernous hemangiomas which sweated whenever compressed. These were located on her left gluteal area since early childhood. The biopsy specimen revealed an increased number of cystically dilated eccrine glands in the mid-dermis in addition to vascular components in the lower dermis. Case 2 is a five year-old girl manifesting non-tender, slightly hyperhidrotic nevus flammeus-like eruption on her left suprapopliteal area since birth, the biapsy apecimen of which revealed an increased number of eccrine glands admixed with capillary hemangioma in the mid-dermis.

6.Influence of Clinical Nurses’ Job Stress on Mental Health Problems:Mediating Effect of Appreciation Moderated by Health-Promoting Lifestyle
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing Administration 2020;26(4):378-387
Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the moderating mediation effect of health-promoting lifestyle in the relationships between clinical nurses’ job stress, appreciation and mental health problems.
Methods:
The participations were 230 clinical nurses working in general hospitals in Seoul City and Gyeonggi Province. Data were collected in November 2019 via an online survey that covered job stress, appreciation, health-promoting lifestyles and mental health problems. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0, SPSS PROCESS Macro(Model 4, Model 7) and bootstrapping method.
Results:
Appreciation had a significant mediation effect in the relationship between job stress and mental health problems. Health-promoting lifestyle had a significant moderation effect in the relationship between job stress and appreciation. Further, health-promoting lifestyle significantly moderated mediation effect of job stress on mental health problems through appreciation.
Conclusion
The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to effectively manage health-promoting lifestyle in the context of clinical nurses’ mental health problems due to job stress. In order to improve clinical nurses’ mental health, it is necessary to provide them with increased appreciation and lead health-promoting lifestyle.
7.Development and Validation of the Nurse Needs Satisfaction Scale Based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs Theory
Journal of Korean Academy of Nursing 2020;50(6):848-862
Purpose:
The purpose of this study was to develop an instrument to evaluate the needs satisfaction of nurses and examine its validity and reliability.
Methods:
The initial items for the instrument were developed through a literature review and interviews, using the conceptual framework of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. The initial items were evaluated for content validity by 14 experts. Four hundred and eighty-six clinical nurses participated in this study through offline and online surveys to test the reliability and validity of the instrument. The first evaluation (n = 256) was used for item analysis and exploratory factor analysis, and the second evaluation (n = 230) was used to conduct a confirmatory factor analysis and to assess the criterion-related validity and internal consistency of the instrument. Test-retest reliability was analyzed using data from 30 nurses.
Results:
The final instrument consisted of 30 items with two sub-factors for five needs that were identified through the confirmatory factor analysis. The criterion-related validity was established using the five need satisfaction measures (r = .56). Cronbach’s a for total items was .90, and test-retest reliability was .89.
Conclusion
The findings from this study indicate that this instrument has sufficient validity and reliability. This instrument can be used for the development of nursing interventions to improve the needs satisfaction of clinical nurses.
8.Correlation between Histopathologic Grade, Stage, and Degree of EGFR Expression in Transitional Cell Carcinoma of the Urinary Bladder.

Korean Journal of Pathology 1996;30(9):784-791
This study was performed to estimate the correlation between the histopathological grade and the clinical stage, which are known as important prognostic factors, and EGFR expression status in 57 cases of transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder. There was a significant correlation between the histopathological grade and clinical stage of transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder and between expression grades of EGFR and histopathological grades, or clinical stages of transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder. Therefore, the presence of a high intensity of EGFR staining in the transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder was associated with poor differentiation and invasion. On the basis of the above results, it was suggested that the degree of EGFR expression is one of the objective and reliable prognostic factors in transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder.
