3.Using the Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization technique for prenatal diagnosis of Down’s syndrome
Journal of Practical Medicine 2005;530(11):9-11
Fluorescence in Situ Hybridization (FISH) is cytogenetics - molecular technique. FISH is the rapid detection technique of chromosomal aberration by chromosome specific probes applied to interphase cells. In this study, the authors used Kit duple DNA probe for chromosome 13, 21, X, Y to prenatal diagnosis of Down’s syndrome. With 6 amniotic fluid samples, the authors obtained the results as follows: 2 samples were Down’s syndrome trisomy; 1 sample was Patau syndrome trisomy; 3 samples were normal; 1 sample male foetus died without clear causes. Cytogenetic result: 46, XX but FISH result: 46, XY; PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) result: TDF (Testis Determining Factor): (+). These results were confirmed by chrosome analysis.

4.Using G banding technique to determine karyotyp for patients with suspected genetic disorders
Journal of Medical Research 1998;6(2):47-52
In 1997 (1/1997-10/1997) with lymphocytes culture technique, technique for preparing chromosome slides, and Barr body technique (giemsa + trypsin). We determined Karyotyp for 60 patients with suspected genetic disorders. The result showed determined sex for 40 patients (Karyotyp 46,XX or 46,XY). 2 interrex with Karyotyp 46,XX/46,XY. 2 intersex with Karyotyp 46,XX. Determining Karyotyp for 8 patients with suspected Turner Syndrome. One of them: 45,X/46, X, r(X). Determining Karyotyp for 2 patients with suspected Down Syndrome. (1 case: 46,XX; another: 47,XX, +21). Determining Karyotyp for another patients: suspected: panconi; 47,XYY; Sterility..

5.Whether estimated clearance createinine by cockeroft gault can substitute the clearance createnine 24 hours or not in patients with glomerular diseases
Journal of Vietnamese Medicine 2001;263(9):96-102
The 128 patients (78 males, 50 females) managed in the Nephrology Department, Chî RÉy hosptial, were enrolled in this study to compare the classical clearance creatinine 24h with the clearance creatinine estimated by Cockcroft Gault formula. Almost 2/3 patients had glomerular diseases, in which the majority was manifested by the nephritic syndrome. The range of clearance creatinine 24h varied from 0.02 ml/min to 131 ml/min. A good correlation between clearance creatinine/1.73m2 in 24h and estimated clearance creatinine/1.73m2 from Cockroft Gault formula (r=0.89, R2=0.8, p<0.0005), a regression line was drawn. There had a strong correlation in the subgroup of female and subgroup with serum creatinine (3mg% (r=0.985). In conclusion, the Cockroft Gault formula estimated clearance creatinine can be replaced the classical clearance 24h on the evaluation of kidney function in renal disease patients

7.Primary amyloidosis: Diagnosis and treatment
Journal Ho Chi Minh Medical 2003;7(2):91-100
Study two cases of primary amyloidosis with the pathognomonic symptom of macroglossia , the diagnosis and treatment of primary amyloidosis. The first one presented with lesions of the tongue, peripheral neuropathy and the bone marrow aspiration revealed <30% plasmocyte with neither bone destruction nor heart, kidney injury. The second case showed diffuse infiltration of amyloid, not only caused the macroglossia but also led to the injury of the heart, pleura, kidneys, subcutaneous tissues, and the autonomic nervous system with postural hypotension

Journal of Medical Research 2007;49(3):40-46
Background: Idiopathic or Immune Thrombocytopenic Pupura (ITP) is a common disease in Vietnamese children. This is a hemostatic disorder disease diagnosed by clinical symptoms combining with tests of platelet quantity in peripheral blood and other tests. Objectives: to study epidemiology, clinical, para-clinical characteristics and their relations in ITP disease. Subjects and methods: This was a prospective and retrospective study. The study included 579 pediatric patients from 3 months to 16 ages who were diagnosed and treated ITP disease in National Pediatric Hospital from 1/1/2003 to 12/31/2004. Results: Data were analyzed, including 191 infants from >3-<12 months (33.0%), 293 children from 1 - 10 ages (50.6%), 95 children >10-<16 ages (16.4%). The male/female ratio was highest in infants and decreased with age (P < 0.001). The disease occurred more in September, October and November with advantage factor being acute respiratory infection before 2 to 3 weeks. Subcutaneous hemorrhage ratio was highest with 557 cases (96.2%), intracranial hemorrhage happened in 7 cases (1.7%). There were differences among age groups about hemorrhage situation. Anemia level did not corresponding with the decrease of the platelet count. Conclusion: Characteristics of ITP depend on the number of platelet and age. \r\n', u'\r\n', u'\r\n', u'

Journal of Preventive Medicine 2008;0(3):38-44
This paper has highlighted some key findings as follows: from 1991 - June 2007, there are 258 projects/programs in the health sector with the total amount of 1.543,07 million USD, in which the Ministry of Health directly manages 137 projects with a total amount of 1.114.93 million USD, accounting for 72.4% of the total ODA for the health sector. The grant aid funding accounts for 57%, loan accounts for 25.6% and mix aid modality account for 17.6%. ODA from bilateral agencies is 43%, from international banks account for 37% and from UN agencies is 20%. Grant aid is declining while the loan is on the rise. As compared with the government budget, ODA accounts for 12.09% -27.78% of government budget in different periods. Priority was given to preventive medicine areas rather than treatment areas. (31.8% compared with 24.5%), in which ODA for HIV/AIDS control is 27.8% in the total amount of ODA for preventive medicine. Some important area has not received anything due to the attention of donors, such as environmental health, tropical diseases control, non communicable diseases. ODA allocation is also not adequate in terms of regional distribution. Disadvantage areas received less than other regions.
