Vitiligo is a disease of unknown cause in which melanocytes are preferentially destroyed by unidentified mechanisms. Vitiligo does respond slowly to psoralens with ultraviolet light and less often to applications of topical steroids. Many investigators have developed therapeutic regimens for autografts of normal melanocyte in treatment for this disfiguring disease. We present herein a case of localized vitiligo in a 26-year-old female, who was successfully repigmented with autologous skin graft and systemic PUVA therapy. The achieved result demonstrate a possible therapeutic approach for vitiligo.

Primary Cutaneous Neuroendocrine Carcinoma(CNEC : or Merkel Cell Tumor) usually occurs as a solitary tumor in middle aged to elderly individuals. This tumor may occur on any layer of the skin but the most frequent location is in the dermis. Electron microscopic studies reveal that the tumor cell contains round, dense core granules similar to epidermal Merkel cell and other cells of the neural crest derived APUD system. We describe the clinical, histological, electron microscopic, immunohistochemical observation of a case of primary CNEC in a 66-year-old female and discuss the theories regarding the histogenesis of this unusual tumor.

5.A Case of Venous Hemangioma Occuring on The Interdigital Web.

Annals of Dermatology 1993;5(2):86-89
We present a case of venous hemangioma which is seen beneath a clavus (corn) developed in the interdigital area of the foot. Clinically, a violaceous papule was located on the third and fourth interdigital spaces under an overlying corn. Histopathologic examination showed a non-encapsulated dermal mass composed of thick-walled and thin walled vessels lined by a single layer of endothelial cells. Some thick-walled vessels had protruding endothelial cells into the lumen and through Verhoeff-van Gieson and Masson-trichrome stain of the tissue section, we found that the vascular mass was composed of vein.

Korean Journal of Dermatology 1993;31(1):123-126
Subungual exostosis is a bony outgrowth occuring on the distal phalanx beneath the nail. This report concerns a case of subungual exostosis, accompanied with overlying myrmecia which developed in a 18-years-old man. Confirmatory X-ray showed a bony exostosis arising from the dorso-medial aspect of the distal end of the distal phalanx of the right great toe. The purpose of this artiicle is to direct attention to subungual existosis, the diagnosis of which may often be unsuspected in dermatology

Annals of Dermatology 1993;5(1):13-16
BACKGROUND: Interleukin-2 receptor (IL-2) is expressed and released predominantly activated T lymphocyte. Increased serum levels of soluble IL-2R have been noted in a variety of autoimmune diseases and in conditions associated with T lymphocyte activation. OBJECTIVE: We aimed to examine whether the T lymphocyte activation has any association with the pathogenesis of Behçet's disease. METHOD: We have measured the serum level of soluble IL-2R in serum samples obtained from 67 patients with Behçet's disease and 30 healthy people as a control group, using a double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technique. RESULTS: Serum soluble IL-2R levels were found to be significantly elevated in the group of Behçet's disease as compared with the control group. No significant differences were found within clinical subtypes of Behçet's disease. CONCLUSION: These findings suggest the presence of an ongoing T lymphocyte activation in this disease process.
