Objective To investigate the circadian change of autonomic nervous system in hyperthyroidism (HT) patients. Methods Recording 24 h dynamic electrocardiography from 33 HT patients( HT group) and 35 controls (control group). The cardiac autonomic nervous function was evaluated by the time domain and frequency domain analysis of heart rate variability( HRV). Results Comparing with control group, the SDNN, SDANN, ASDNN and rMSSD were significantly lower in HT group[ (82.3 ± 29.0)ms vs. (139.4±40.2 ) ms, ( 75.0 ± 27.4) ms vs. ( 130.3 ± 43.9) ms, (29.9 ± 14.9 ) ms vs. (57.3 ± 14.4) ms,( 19.8 ± 10.9 ) ms vs. (29.5 ± 9.4) ms ] (P < 0.01 or < 0.05 ), the long term total power (TP), high frequency (HF), low frequency (LF) and very low frequency (VLF) were significantly lower in HT group [ (566.1±573.2) ms2/Hz vs. ( 1894.2 ± 984.3)ms2/Hz, (68.1 ± 88.9 ) ms2/Hz vs. (232.7 ± 155.5 ) ms2/Hz, ( 127.4 ±163.0) ms2/Hz vs. (551.3 ± 390.6) ms2/Hz, (330.3 ± 300.6) ms2/Hz vs. (1073.2 ± 570.2) ms2/Hz] (P <0.01 ). Comparing with control group, short term VLF was higher in HT group during most time in 24 hours (P< 0.05 ). Short term LF was higher in HT group mainly in day time (P< 0.05 ). Short term HF was higher in HT group occasionally in the whole day (P<0.05). Short term LF/HF didn't show significant difference between HT group and control group at most time points (P>0.05).Conclusion In HT patients, cardiac chronotropic property is impaired, sympathetic activity increases in whole day, vagal activity increases correspondently but the increase in day is more marked than that in night.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2004;0(08):-
This paper introduces an assist system for the blind. It utilizes ultrasonic to measure the distance and speed. Then the distance signal is converted to position of slip block and the speed signal is converted to tone. The main function of this sytem is to assist the blind to determine distance and speed of objects. It is practical,Simple and inexpensive.

A buofulm reactor ( BFR ) was fabrucated vua a cultuvatuon process usung naturally occurrung mucrobual seeds from locally collected wastewaters, and a serues of researches were carrued out wuth thus BFR based onlune Buochemucal Oxygen Demand ( BOD) monutor. The results showed that the BFR cultuvatuon tume was less than 14 h, and the buodegradatuon effucuencues was 18. 5%. The munumum detectuon lumut was 0. 5 mg/L, as well as the upper detectuon lumut was 20 mg/L. The relatuve error and relatuve standard devuatuon un accuracy and long term stabuluty to standard were -0. 8% and ±3. 2%, respectuvely. The real sample determunatuons showed an average relatuve error of +5. 6% to conventuonal BOD5 method. The BFR mauntauned a good performance un long term stabuluty and accuracy durung thus test peruod, and the broad lunear range ensured the demand for surface water onlune monutorung.

Chinese Medical Equipment Journal 2003;0(12):-
Ultrasonic estimation of fetal weight is important in the management o f labor and delivery. Lots of charts and formulas have been put forward in virtu e of regression methods. Artificial neural network, a kind of computer artificia l intelligence technology, can simulate human thinking based on neural structure and physiology. With the excellence in complex and non-linear information proce ssing, artificial neural network is fitter for the forecasting of fetal weight t han traditional regression methods.

Background Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a serious neurological injury that often leads to permanent disabilities for the victims. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of glial-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) mediated by recombinant adeno-associated virus type 2 (rAAV2) alone or in combination with early rehabilitation training on SCI.Methods SCI was induced on the T8-9 segments of the spinal cord by laminectomy in adult male Sprague-Dawley rats. Then besides the sham operation group, the SCI rats were randomly divided into four groups:natural healing group, gene therapy group, rehabilitation training group, and combination therapy group (gene therapy in combination with rehabilitation training).Motor dysfunction, protein expression of GDNF,edema formation, and cell injury were examined 7,14,and 21 days after trauma. Results The topical application of rAAV-GDNF-GFP resulted in strong expression of GDNF,especially after the 14th day,and could protect the motor neuron ceils.Early rehabilitative treatment resulted in significantly improved motor function, reduced edema formation, and protected the cells from injury, especially after the 7th and 14th days, and increased the GDNF expression in the damaged area, which was most evident after Day 14.The combined application of GDNF and early rehabilitative treatment after SCI resulted in a significant reduction in spinal cord pathology and motor dysfunction after the 7th and 14th days. Conclusion These observations suggest that rAAV2 gene therapy in combination with rehabilitation therapy has potential clinical value for the treatment of SCI.
