Journal of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine 2000;0(04):-
Placenta implantation is a rare but dangerous postpartum complication. In this study, 17 cases of placenta implantation were allocated to two groups. The treatment group?(9?cases)was treated with modified Xuefu Zhuyu Decoction on the basis of intravenous drip of methotrexate. The control group(8?cases)was treated with intravenous drip of methotrexate combined with oxytocin and antibiotic. The results showed that all of the cases in the treatment group were cured and no one case received uterine curettage or uterectomy. But in the control group,5 received uterine curettage and 1 total uterectomy. It is indicated that Chinese herbal medicine combined with western medicine is a better therapy for placenta implantation.

The proteins and antigens of nine strains of Toxoplasma gondii were analyzed by SDS-PAGE and immunoblotting. These strains including RH strain, Zs-2 strain, CN strain and SHI, SH2, SH3, SH4, SH5, SH8 strains, were obtained from other laboratories or isolated from deformity fetus in our laboratory. SDS-PAGE analysis revealed that these strains were very close in the major bands of proteins and differences were observed only in part. There were common components in antigens of all strains using IgG antibody prepared from high-titre rabbit antisera raised against RH strain of Toxoplasma.

Objective To evaluate the radiobiological effect of different irradiation fractionated regimens in human glioma cells ( BT 325 cell line). Methods The xenografts in Balb/c-nude mice were irradiated with different single and fractionated regimens. The single fraction dose was 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 Gy, respectively. The fractionated regimens were 2 Gy × 5 fractions ( irradiated every day), and 3 Gy ×3 fractions (irradiated every other day), 3 Gy × 5 fractions (irradiated every day) and 4 Gy × 3 fractions (irradiated every other day), with total doses of 125 Gy, 114 Gy, 126 Gy and 112 Gy, respectively. The growth curve was used to evaluate the tumor doubling time. clonogenic assays was performed to draw the cell survival curve and analyze the radiobiological parameters with doses of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 Gy. T1/2 was measured by comet assay. Results Tumor regression were not observed by single fraction irradiation, 2 Gy × 5 fractons and 3 Gy × 3 fractions irradiation regimens. The tumor regress was more significant with the increas of fraction dose. The 4 Gy × 3 fractionrs inhibited tumor more though not curing tumor. The cell doubling time of the BT 325 cell was 30. 16 h and the tumor doubling time of the xenograft was 43 days. When fitted with L-Q model ,α was 0. 36 Gy -1 and β was 0. 057 Gy -2. When fitted with the single-hit multitarget model, D0 was 1. 394 Gy, Dq was 2. 127 Gy and SF2 was 0. 714, respectively. The T1/2 was 9. 999min. Conclusions Glioma is a radioresistant tumor. Increase of the fraction dose improves recent effect.Further study is needed to control the tumor stem cells.

OBJECTIVETo study the histogenesis, pathologic features and differential diagnosis of prostatic primary signet ring cell carcinoma.
METHODS10 cases of the primary signet ring cell carcinoma were detected from 262 cases of prostate carcinomas diagnosed on needle biopsy were investigated by routine pathological, immunohistochemical and histochemical methods, and then compared with 10 cases of signet ring cell carcinomas of the stomach and colon. 3 cases were studied with electron microscopy.
RESULTS9 cases of prostate signet ring cell carcinoma were associated with concurrent high-grade conventional prostatic carcinoma, but at least 25% of the neoplasm consisted of signet ring cells. Only one case was pure signet ring cell carcinoma. Neoplastic signet ring cells may be divided into two types: the first type showed formation of intracytoplasmic lumina or vacuole, and the second type had intracytoplasmic accumulation of excess PSA and/or PAP. Both types of signet ring cells were negative for mucin staining (AB/PAS and mucicarmine). Therefore they differed from signet ring cell carcinomas of the stomach and colon.
CONCLUSIONSPrimary prostate signet ring cell carcinoma is a low-differentiated adenocarcinoma of a special histologic type, which arises from the epithelial cells of the prostate acinus. They can be distinguished from metastatic signet ring cell carcinoma of the stomach and colon and also from vacuolate degeneration of conventional carcinoma after endocrine or radiation therapy.

Chinese Journal of Pathology 2016;45(1):21-24
OBJECTIVETo explore the clinicopathologic features and imaging diagnosis of 17 cases of liposclerosing myxofibrous tumor (LSMFT) and to discuss the mechanism of the disease.
METHODSCases of LSMFT diagnosed in 2014 were included in this retrospective study. The clinicopathologic features and imaging findings were evaluated.
RESULTSThere were 17 cases of LSMFT, occurring in 11 men and 6 women with a mean age of 46 years (range, 26-67 years). Patients were asymptomatic or presented with pain localized over the lesions. Most (13/17) lesions were located in the intertrochanteric region. Radiographs showed well-defined and often extensively sclerotic margin. MRI showed the lesions to be relatively heterogeneous on T1W, and heterogeneous with high signal intensity on T2W with fat suppression. Microscopically, LSMFT was characterized by a complex mixture of histologic elements, including myxofibrous and collagen tissues, lipomatous areas, xanthoma cells, calcification, irregular ossification and pseudo-Paget's bone.
CONCLUSIONSLSMFT is a benign fibro-ossesous lesion with unique imaging characteristics and histologic features, occurring preferentially in some locations. It might represent end-stage degenerative changes in other benign bone lesions such as fibrous dysplasia, simple bone cyst and intraosseous lipoma secondary to trauma from forces and ischemic bone injury exerted on the intertrochanteric region of the femur.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of resveratrol combined with γ-ray irradiation on the biological behavior of cervical cancer cells, and to explore its possible mechanism. Methods:The proliferation of cell populations after different concentrations of resveratrol solution±γ-ray irradiation was detected by CCK-8 assay. Scratch test and Transwell chamber test were used to detect cell migration and invasion. Flow cytometry and Annexin V-FITC/PI double staining were employed to assess cell apoptosis. Western blot was performed to measure the expression levels of PI3K, Akt, p-Akt, mTOR and p-mTOR proteins. Results:Compared with the normal control (NC) group, the resveratrol group±γ-ray irradiation could inhibit the proliferation, migration, and invasion and promote cell apoptosis of human cervical cancer Hela cells, and the combined effect was more obvious. Compared with the NC group, resveratrol and γ-ray irradiation could significantly down-regulate the expression levels of Bcl-2, PI3K, p-Akt and p-mTOR proteins, up-regulate the expression level of Bax protein, but did not significantly alter the expression levels of Akt and mTOR proteins in human cervic1 255al cancer Hela cells. Conclusions:Resveratrol combined with γ-ray irradiation can dramatically inhibit the proliferation, migration, invasion, and promote the apoptosis of cervical cancer Hela cells. The mechanism may be related to the inhibition of the PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling pathway and down-regulating the expression levels of downstream related proteins.
