Objective: To investigate the effect of all trans retinoid acid (ATRA) on bone cell proliferation and differentiation. Methods: Newborn rat calvarial osteoblastic cells were isolated and the metabolism of the osteoblastic cells were determined by MTT, Goldens method and immunocytohistologic method. Results: 10 -5 , 10 -6 , 10 -7 , 10 -8 , 10 -9 mol/L ATRA could increase osteoblastic cells proliferation after 72 h culture; 10 -5 , 10 -6 , 10 -7 mol/L ATRA could increase ALP activity. The expression of cyclin D 1 was decreased. Conclusion: ATRA stimulates the proliferation and differentiation of rat calvarial osteoblastic cells in vitro. Cell cycle relative proteins may play an important role in control of cell proliferation and differentiation induced by retinoic acid and derivatives.

Aim To study the effects of Shenfu soup onthe ISO -induced myocardial ischemia injury model ofrats and the influence of apelin level changes on myocardial ischemia.Methods The myocardial ischemiainjury model of rats was established by the subcutaneous injection of ISO.For 1 5 days,rats in Shenfugroups were given by gavage 3,6 and 1 2 g · kg -1Shenfu soup and rats in SF injection group were given6.67 g·kg -1 Shenfu injection,rats in sham group andmodel group were given the same volume of distilledwater.Rats were subcutaneously multipoint injectedISO for 5 days on the eleventh administrating day.Theeffects of Shenfu soup on myocardial morphology,serum myocardial enzyme levels,apelin mRNA level inserum and apelin protein level in myocardial tissue,and relationship between myocardial enzyme and apelinexpression were evaluated. Results Shenfu soupcould reduce the degree of myocardial tissue necrosisand compared with model group,CK values and LDHvalues of rats in middleand highdose groups were significantly lower (P <0.05 or P <0.01 ).However,the apelin mRNA level in myocardial tissue and apelinprotein level in serum of the rats in middleand highdose groups compared with model group had increased(P <0.05,P <0.01 ).Meanwhile,serum levels ofapelin and the expression of myocardial enzyme CK andLDH were negatively correlated.Conclusion Shenfusoup has a protective effect on myocardial ischemia injury in rats induced by ISO and the mechanism is involved with the promotion of apelin mRNA and proteinexpression,the inhibition of myocardial enzyme production and the improvement of myocardial ischemia.

Objective:To summarize the clinical characteristics of the patients suffering from sudden senserineural hearing loss (SSNHL) with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV),and to investigate the possible pathogenesis.Methods:The clinical materials of thirsty-five patients with SSNHL complicated with vertigo were retrospectively analyzed.The clinical information,including the traits of vertigo and prognosis of hearing loss of the patients in SSNHL with BPPV group (n=9),and SSNHL with non-BPPV group (n=26) were compared.Results:All patients had profound hearing loss and unsatisfied prognosis of hearing loss,and the response rate was 17.1％,the effective rate was 11.4％,and the curative rate was 5.7％.25.7％ of all cases were diagnosed of BPPV by medical history and postural tests,who had heavier hearing loss than the others.And BPPV comlicated with SSNHL was often found within 1 week after the hearing loss (average value:4.1 d),and all on the same side with the hearing loss ear.BPPV tended to happen in total deafness (6 cases,66.7％) and flat type (3 cases,33.3％),and were often involved in horizontal semicircular canal (6 cases,66.7％) and posterior semicircular canal (3 cases,33.3％).The patients with SSNHL complicated with BPPV needed more times of reduction maneuver (average value:2.3 times),with a satisfied therapeutic effect for reducing the vertigo of the patients.Conclusion:SSNHL complicated with BPPV has a high morbidity in the patients with heavy hearing loss,and often affect the horizontal semicircular canal,which needs the repeated reduction maneuver.
