Objective:To observe the effects of Chinese herb baicalin on proliferation and cell cycle of periodontal ligament cells(PDLC) by stimulation of lipopolysaccharide(LPS) in vitro.Methods:Human PDLC was cultured in vitro.MTT colormetic method was used to evaluate the effects of Chinese herb baicalin on proliferation of PDLC by stimulation of LPS.Flow cytometry was used to analyze the possible DNA index and cellular cycle changes of PDLC.Results:PDLC showed a significant growth inhibition after being treaded with 100 ?g/ml LPS 3 h by MTT methods,and proliferation ability of PDLC improved greatly after adding baicalin.FCM results showed that the cell number increased in G1 phase,while the cell number decreased in S phase at 12 h after treated with 100 ?g/ml LPS,but the cell number decreased in G1 phase,and increased in S phase after treated with Chinese baicalin.Conclusion:Chinese herb baicalin can significantly promote the proliferation of PDLC.It can make some static cell in G1 phase enter S phrase and improve the growth of human PDLC.

Objective To investigate the relationship between the level of serum brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) and the severity of coronary artery disease in elderly patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods We recruited 498 elderly CHD patients undergoing coronary angiography(CAG) from our hospital.Based on CAG results,patients were divided into two groups:406 patients with lesion of vessel(s)and ≥50％ vessel stenosis as the CHD group,and the other 92 patients with ＜ 50％ vessel stenosis as the negative control group.Their clinical data such as left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and serum BNP was recorded.The patients was further divided into 177 single-,129 double-,100 triple-,and 92 negative vessel disease groups according to the number of vessels with significant stenosis.The patients with CHD were divided into three different age groups:(1) A group:60-69 years old,254 patients ;(2) B group:70-79 years old,112patients;(3)C group:equal or greater than 80 years old,40 patients.Serum levels of BNP were measured before CAG.The relationship between BNP and the severity of coronary disease was analyzed.Results The level of BNP was significantly elevated in the CHD group[(387.5±132.3)ng/L]than the negative control group [(58.6±22.1) ng/L](t =23.83,P ＜ 0.01).The level of BNP was significantly enhanced(F =87.42,P ＜0.01) along with the increasing number of coronary artery Stenosis,with single vessel disease group(202.2±116.6)ng/L,double vessel disease group(487.5±152.3)ng/L and triple vessel disease group(768.7±264.3) ng/L; the level of BNP significantly increased(F =57.33,P ＜ 0.01) along with increasing age,with A group(182.6±93.1)ng/L,B group(352.2±121.2)ng/L and C group(491.2±158.7) ng/L.The level ofLVEF did not change in the procedure(P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion The levels of BNP were closely associated with the severity of coronary artery disease and were a strong clinical predictor for myocardial ischemia.

FoxM1 is a specific transcription factor related to proliferation .Previous studies have found that FoxM1 can enhance the proliferation ,metastasis and invasion of cancer cells ,and play a crucial role in canc-er.Recent studies indicate that the abnormal expression of FoxM 1 plays an important role in breast cancer ,and its overexpression is negatively correlated with the overall survival of patients .For the early diagnosis of breast canc-er,clinical prognosis and study on combination therapy provides a new direction .This article reviews the relation-ship between FoxM1 and breast cancer .

Objective To discuss the diagnosis and management for lower uterine segment pregnancy.Methods Clinical data of 6 cases of lower uterine segment pregnancy between January 2005 and February 2006 were retrospectively analyzed.Results Five patients had a history of caesarean section,while another one had undergone repeated pregnancy.Uterine artery embolization(UAE) in combination with methotrexate(MTX) injection was carried out in 2 cases,and uterine artery embolization only,MTX injection only,and total hysterectomy were employed in 1 case,1 case,and 2 cases,respectively.Conclusions Previous caesarean section and repeated pregnancy are risk factors of the occurrence of lower uterine segment pregnancy.Uterine artery embolization in combination with methotrexate injection is a safe and reliable management option.

The garlic oil and oil of Oenothera erythrosepala Borb. in Compound Dashuan Capsules were analysized with several kinds of specific qualitative methods. The content of their main components was also determined by GC. These methods showed relatively high sensitivity and accuracy, and could effectively control the product quality.

Objective:To improve the understanding of brucellar spondylitis (BS) and to further improve the diagnosis and treatment ability of BS patients.Methods:The epidemiological and clinical data of 74 cases of BS misdiagnosed in Department of Orthopedics, Zhangye People's Hospital Affiliated to Hexi University from January 2014 to December 2019 were analyzed.Results:The average age of BS onset was 34-71 (54.1±4.5)years old. The incidence rate of female was higher than that of male. The morbility of rural individual farmers were higher than that of herdsmen. These patients were infected mainly through browsing and breeding beasts. It was very common that two adjacent lumbars vertebrae were invaded. It took about mean (10.1±2.2)months to diagnosis and (7.1±1.9)times to visits doctors. All patients were misdiagnosed as lumbar disc herniation, spinal tuberculosis and so on.Conclusions:There are characteristic features in clinical epidemiology of BS.It tends to be misdiagnosed as spinal tuberculosis and lumbar disc herniation in early clinical stage. It can be diagnosed as early as possible according to its epidemiology, clinical symptoms and imaging examination.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of endobrochial ultrasound (EBUS) examination,a new ultrasound technique.Method 15 patients with space occupying lesions in lung or doubted obstructive pneumonia or atelectasis were examined by EBUS.The procedure was performed with ultrasound catheters,which were introduced into bronchi through the operating channel of fiberoptic bronchoscope and a full 360℃ cross-sectional image was obtained.Result The bronchial wall was highly echogenic and laminated.The lung parenchyma appeared echo rich and patchy.Pulmonary vessels can be identified by the echo free lumen and the pulsatile changes.Echo poor bronchial carcinomas proved in pathology destructed bronchial wall in different extent were detected in 10 patients.1 patient with nodule in right apical segment who had intact bronchial wall was with tuberculosis proved by operation.1 patient with pleural effusion and atelectasis was detected by EBUS and found no abnormal echo,showing that the reason for atelectasis was compression instead of obstruction.Among the 3 patients who were suspected to have obstructive pneumonia,in 1 case ultrasound scanning showed enlarged lymph node outside the bronchus compressing the wall caused the channel mild narrow;as to the other 2 cases,because bronchial wall was complete and no tumor like echo were found,the obstructive factor was excluded.The ultrasound examination had no particular risk and caused little discomfort.Conclusion Endobronchial ultrasound scan can clearly demonstrate the adjacent extraluminal lesion or structure within the brochial wall itself,which is safe and effective.

Objective To understand the feedback of seven-year students of clinical medicine about the application of PBL teaching method and investigate its related factors.Methods Four classes of seven-year students of clinical medicine of Nanjing Medical University which had received PBL teaching method were randomly selected in grade 2009 and 2010 (243 students)and 233 valid questionnaires were analyzed statistically.The questionnaire has four main parts and they are about basic situation,factors that may affect the PBL Teaching,students' subjective attitude,their effect evaluation and suggestion for improvements.SPSS 11.0 was used to analyze the first part of the resuhs withx2 analysis(P＜0.05).Results 233valid questionnaires were recovered and 79.0％(184/233) of students held a favorable position toward PBL application in their course.It is irrelevant to no other related factors but the accessibility of information(P=0.000).More than half of the students think it is suitable for PBL on the clinical medical students(57.5％,134/233),PBL teaching is more free and easy(51.9％,121/233)and can improve their awareness of participation(72.5％,169/233).However more students (193) are in favor of more traditional teaching combined with PBL,with the former dominated.Conclusion PBL teaching method in seven-year clinical medical program has been proved to be quite effective.Though with certain drawbacks,it is a good supplement to the traditional teaching methods in many aspects,and it is definitely of great significance in improving the quality of teaching.

This article aims to seek a moral and ethical model to achieve effective cost control of medical service after investigating the ethical problems initiated by current control process of medical service cost.It should be a standard model that combines the long-term profitability and the short-term one as well as the economic efficiency and the social efficiency.

Objective To compare the effect of application of constant speed injection pump and manual injection on hysterosalpi-nography (HSG).Methods A total of 220 infertile patients were selected and classified into experimental group and control group. Then the patients were scheduled to undergo HSG.The experimental group was undergone constant speed pump injection and control group manual injection.Observe the effectiveness of the two methods on patients in two groups,respectively.Results The excellent rate of the images in experimental group (94.55%)was significantly higher than the control group (85.45%)and the risk of adverse reactions were significantly decreased in the former.There was statistical difference between the two groups.Conclusion Constant speed infusion pump is a convenient,safe and effective method in hysterosalpinography compared with manual injection,which is worthy of application in clinic.
