The absorptioa of zinc in the fermented soybean weaning food was studied using methed of neutron activation analysis of a stable isotope 70Zn. The results indicated that the rate of zinc absorption (38.7%), activity of alkaline phosphatase in serum (102.3V/L) and the increment of weight (0.5kg) of the infants (7-18m) eating the soybean fermented weaning food were higher than those eating the nonfermented soybean weaning food (30.9%, 71.0V/L, 0.4kg) and the traditional grain weaning food (rice gruel and noodle) (27.5%, 61.5V/L, 0.4kg)

A rat model of laryngeal allotransplantation was established by employing an end- to-side anastomosis of donor bilateral common carotid arteries to recipient common carotid artery and external jugular vein separatively.Thirteen allotransplants were performed in 26 SD rats. All recipients survived.Three days after the operation,a visible fibrinous adherence was observed around the laryngeal grafts.By the 7th day,the adherence became intensified. The airway was plugged with mucoid material, and the viable grafts were surrounded by connective tissues. Our results confirmed that the rat model was practicable for laryngeal allograft.Besides the difference of the major histocompatibility between the donor and recipient, the skill of microsurgery, the prevention of infections and the methods of donor organ flushing are all vital to a successful trans- plantation.

Objective To observe the preventive effect of the new nursing mode on the formation of deep venous thrombosis(DVT)in pregnant women with high risk factors. Methods 186 pregnant women who had high risk factors were selected,by using digital table method they were randomly divided into control group(93 cases)and observation group(93 cases). The control group was treated with routine nursing, the observation group was given the new nursing mode on the basis of routine nursing. The postpartum 2 weeks of lower limb swelling, pain, lower extremity deep vein thrombosis formation of incidence, and the nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results 2 weeks postpartum, the incidence rates of lower limb pain occurrence, lower extremity deep vein thrombosis in the observation group were 8.6%,2.1%,which in the control group were 20.4%,9.7%,there were statistically significant differences between the two groups(χ2 =4.56,4.82,all P <0.05).The satisfaction of the observation group was 95.6%,which of the control group was 81.7%,the difference between the two groups was statistically sig-nificant(χ2 =5.27,P <0.01).Conclusion The new nursing model used in pregnant women with high risk factors can effectively prevent the occurrence of DVT,reduce the incidence of DVT,improve the satisfaction of nursing.

A series of research results on the influence of soybean to the bioavai?lability of non-heme iron in diet are reported. It is proved that Soybean and some of its products decrease the bioavailability of non-heme iron in diet by human observation and animal experiments. This result is due to insufficient control over the inhibitors and utilization of the enhancers of the bioavailability of iron in soybean itself.Experiments show that through some special treatment processes such as sprouting, fermenting and making bean curd, the above disadvantages may be effectively reduced and remarkably increase the bioavailability of the non-heme iron. These conclusions possess both theoretical and practical meaning for full utilization of soybean protein and effective prevention of iron deficiency anemia.

Objective To systematically assess the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in treating type 2 diabetes. Methods Related literature was retrieved with a computer. After the data were sifted out from the literature according to the established criteria, they were collected and crossly checked by two researchers independently. The data were input to RevMan5.2 for statistical analysis. Results A total of ten studies were included with a total of 743 patients. The results of Meta analysis showed 1) Post-treatment total efficacy rate was higher in the acupuncture or combined acupuncture and medicine group than in the control group [OR=3.60, 95%CI (2.11,6.13)] and there was a statistically significant difference (Z=4.71,P<0.00001); 2) Post-treatment range of decrease in fasting blood glucose (FBG) was significantly higher in the experiment group than in the control group [WMD=-1.20,95%CI (-1.38,-1.02)] and there was a statistically significant difference (Z=12.88,P<0.00001); 3) Post-treatment range of decrease in 2-h postprandial blood glucose (2hPBG) was significantly higher in the experiment group than in the control group [WMD=-1.27, 95%CI (-1.47,-1.06)] and there was a statistically significant difference (Z=12.02,P<0.00001).Conclusion Clinically acupuncture or combined acupuncture and medicine is more effective than Chinese herbal medicine or Western medication alone in treating T2DM and has no toxic and side effects.
