Chinese Journal of Interventional Imaging and Therapy 2009;6(4):388-391
18F fluorodeoxyglucose, as a kind of tracer, has its limitations in positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). 18F-fluorothymidine (18F-FLT) is a kind of new tracer. The value of 18F-FLT in diagnosis of tumor, tumor staging and assessment of therapeutic effects was reviewed in this article.

Ophthalmology in China 2006;0(05):-
Objective To analyze the effect of intensive pupillary dilation on intraocular pressure(IOP) in early stage after vitreoretinal surgery(VRS).Design Retrospective case series.Participants 32 patients(34 eyes) with 30 mmHg or more of IOP at the first day after VRS were enrolled in this study. Methods Tropicamide-phenylephrine eyedrop(Mydrin-P~(?)) was applied to the operated eye 3 times with interval of 5 minutes and IOP was measured again 2 hours later.IOPs were compared with t test.Main Outcome Measures IOP.Results The mean IOP was 37.26?6.07 mmHg before using tropicamide-phenylephrine eyedrop and 34.82?8.46 mmHg after using it two hours later(P=0.02),and mean decline of IOP was 2.44 mmHg in general.IOP was decreased in 20/34 eyes(58.82%) with mean decline 6.2 mmHg.IOP was unchanged in 4/34 eyes(11.76%).IOP was increased in 10/34 eyes(29.41%) with mean IOP up 4.1 mmHg.Conclusions The IOP increasing after vitreoretinal surgery is not the reason for stopping pupillary dilator. On the contrary, the IOP of about 60%patients can decrease with rational using pupillary dilator.

AIM: To study the pharmacokinetics of ligustilide in the volatile oil from Angelica Sinensis(Oliv.) Diels in the rabbit. METHODS: HPLC method for ligustilide determination in the blood was developed. The HPLC system consisted of C_(18) column using MeOH-H_2O(65∶35,v/v) as mobile phase at a flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and UV detection at 236 nm. RESULTS: Linear calibration curves were obtained over the concentration range of 0.40 ?g?mL~(-1)~10.00 ?g?mL~(-1) for ligustilide. The minimum limit detection was 0.40 ?g?mL~(-1).The recovery of ligusitilide in blood was 90.90% with RSD 2.74%. CONCLUSION: After oral administration of volatile oil, intracorporal process of ligustilide in rabbit accords with 2-compartment model with 1 st order absorption,(2.6638) h and 108.88 h are obtained as t_(1/2?) and t_(1/2?) respectively.

Objective To investigate the effect of lamivudine (LAM) on serum interferon (IFN)-γ and interleukin (IL)-4 levels in patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB). Methods Serum IFN-γ and IL-4 levels were measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in 66 CHB patients at baseline and 3, 6, 9 and 12 months after LAM treatment respectively. And 20 healthy volunteers served as healthy control. The comparision of pretreatment and post-treatment was done using t test and numberation data were analyzed by non parametric rank sum test. Results In HBeAg positive patients, the serum level of IFN-γ was (21.03±4.44) ng/L in complete response group, which was higher than partial response group [(13.85±3.92) ng/L] and non-response group [(10.63± 3.11) ng/L] (t=7.56,t=11.87, both P<0.01). Take that IFN-γ is 15.66 ng/L as boundry patients with high baseline IFN-γ level showed much higher complete response rate (31.0% vs 8.7%, x2 =8.391, P<0.01) and lower non-response rate (13.8% vs 52.2%,x2=4. 256, P<0.01) than those with low baseline IFN-γ levels. After LAM treatment, the IFN-γ/IL-4 ratios in complete response patients were approximate or even higher than those in healthy group, whereas the IFN-γ/ IL-4 ratios of patients with partial response and non response were lower than those in healthy group. In HBeAg negative patients, the IFN-γ/IL-4 ratios increased slowly but didn't reach the same levels of healthy group. Conclusions It is suggested that LAM treatment can increase IFN-γ release and reduce IL-4 release in CHB patients. The response type to LAM therapy is associated with the recovery of T helper cell (Th) 1/Th2 balance post-treatment and pretreatment IFN-γ levels.

Journal of China Pharmaceutical University 2021;52(2):171-176
Using syringaldehyde as raw material, the phosphine ylide intermediate was efficiently synthesized through acetylated hydroxyl protection, aldehyde group reduction, chlorination and reaction with triphenylphosphine. On this basis, moscatilin (MST) and its 12 analogs (MST-1-MST-12) were synthesized by wittig reaction, deacetylation and double bond reduction. All the structures were confirmed by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and ESI-MS. Bacterial lipopolysaccharide-induced mouse macrophage RAW264.7 inflammation model was used to conduct preliminary anti-inflammatory activity tests in vitro for the target compounds. Results showed that all compounds could inhibit the production of inflammatory factor NO, and that MST-5 exhibited the strongest anti-inflammatory activity (IC50= 0.428 μmol/L).Further exploration is expected for the study of the anti-inflammatory mechanism of MST-5.

Metabolic characteristics of 39 human brain tumor tissues, including 15 astrocytomas, 13 fibroblastic meningiomas and 11 transitional meningiomas from 39 individual patients, have been studied using high resolution magic-angle spinning (HRMAS) 1H NMR spectroscopy in conjunction with principal component analysis (PCA). With rich metabolite information, 1H NMR spectra showed that the tumor-tissuc metabonome was dominated by lipids, lactate, myo-inositol, ereatine, choline metabolites such as choline, phosphocholine and glycerophosphocholine, amino acids such as alanine, glutamate, glutamine, taurine, N-acetyl-aspartate and glutathione. PCA of the tumor NMR spectra clearly showed metabonomic differences between low-grade astrocytomas and meningiomas whereas such differences were more moderate between fibroblastic and transitional meningiomas. Compared with meningiomas, the low-grade astrocytomas had higher levels of glycerophosphocholine, phosphocholine, myo-inositol and creatine but lower levels of alanine, glutamate, glutamine, glutathione and taurine. The N-acetyl-aspartate level was low but detectable in low-grade astrocytomas whereas it was not detectable in meningiomas. It is concluded that tissue metabonomics technology consisting of HRMAS 1H NMR spectroscopy and multivariate data analysis (MVDA) offers a useful tool (1) for distinguishing different types of brain tumors, (2) for providing the metabolic information for human brain tumors, which are potentially useful for understanding biochemistry of tumor progression.

Objective To investigate the sleep quality and influencing factors in patients with stable myasthenia gravis (MG).Methods From September 2015 to February 2017,151 cases of stable MG were enrolled in the department of neurology,West China Hospital,Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI) was used to evaluate their sleep quality;Spearman analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors (clinical data, quality of life, anxiety and depression). Results Spearman test analysis showed that PSQI was positively correlated with age, duration, myasthenia gravis quality of life 15 (MG-QOL15),Hamilton Anxiety Scale 14 (HAMA14),Hamilton Depression Scale 24 (HADA24) (P < 0.05).Stepwise regressionanalysis further revealed that life quality was the best predictor of reduced sleep quality (t =3.161,P =0.002),followed by anxiety (t =2.495,P =0.014) and age (t =2.356,P =0.020).Conclusions There are many influencing factors of stable MG wnich more attentions should be paid on.
