BACKGROUND: The active ingredients of Chinese herbs, such as hongjingtian (rhodiola root, Radix Rhodiolae), srenshen (ginseng, Radix Ginseng), and danggui (Chinese angelica root, Radix Angelicae Sinensis),were found to be effective to inhibit the hypoxia injury.OBJECTIVE: To observe the protecting effect of xionggui diwan (Dripping Pills) on the hippocampal neurons from hypoxia by whole-cell recording patch-clamp technique.DESIGN: An auto-control observation on cells.SETTING: The 88 Hospital of Chinese PLA and Academy of Military Medical Science of Chinese PLA.MATERIALS: The experiment was performed during March to August 2002 in the Institute of Toxicology and Pharmacology of Academy of Military Medical Sciences of Chinese PLA. The neonatal Wistar rats, clean degree, were used. The hippocampal neuron cells out of 9 rats were cultured and divided into the control groups of before and after hypoxia-oxygenation,and xionggui diwan 1 × 10-6 mol/L and 10 × 10-6 mol/L groups. (Xionggui diwan was provided by the 88 Hospital of Chinese PLA and its active ingredient was the volatile ingredient of chuanxiong and danggui.)METHODS: While hypoxia-reoxygenation groups were not given any medicine intervention as control, the treatment of xionggui diwan 1×10-6mol/L was subdivided into xionggui diwan 1 × 10-6 mol/L + non-hypoxia and xionggui diwan 1 × 10-6 mol/L + hypoxia groups, and the treatment of xionggui diwan 10 × 10-6 mol/L was subdivided into xionggui diwan 10 × 10-6 mol/L + non-hypoxia and xionggui diwan 10 × 10-6 mol/L + hypoxia groups. The patch-clamp technique was performed to determine the Na+ and K+ currents of rat hippocampal neurons cultured in vitro before and after hypoxia-reoxygenation.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The Na+ and K+ current amplitude of rat hippocampal neurons cultured in vitro.RESULTS:① The Na+ current amplitude of hippocampal neurons: After hypoxia-reoxygenation, it was significantly lower than that before [(-3.8±1.0, -10.3±0.5) nA, t=3.49, P ＜ 0.01]. ② The K+ current amplitude of hippocampal neurons: After hypoxia-reoxygenation, the activation thresholdof K+ current was changed from -40 mV to -20 mV.③The Na+ and K+ currents of hippocampal neurons before and after hypoxia-reoxygenation with xionggui diwan pretreatment: Before hypoxia-reoxygenation, the ampli tudes of Ⅰ Na and J K of hippocampal neurons at the threshold point were very similar, without significant difference. After hypoxia-reoxygenation,those amplitudes of xionggui diwan 10.0 × 10-6 mol/L group were higher than that of xiongguidiwan 1.0 × 10-6 mol/L group [(-58.5±1.9, -6.9±1.4,-3.8±1.0) nA, t=7.51,P ＜ 0.05].CONCLUSION: It was suggested that xionggui diwan propect the function of hippocampal neurons from hypoxia.

Objective To evaluate the effect of implementing quality control circle (QCC)activities on nurses’ knowledge about ventilator-associated infection(VAP),as well as head-of-bed (HOB)elevation and incidence of VAP in patients.Methods 100 patients who used ventilators in an intensive care unit(ICU)of a hospital were ran-domly selected,50 patients were selected before the implementation of QCC(January-June,2013),and 50 were se-lected after the implementation of QCC (July-December,2103).Condition of nurses and patients who used ventila-tors before and after implementation of QCC were investigated.Results After implementing QCC,the scores of nurses’recognition on knowledge about causes and risks of VAP,significance and standard of HOB elevation,and HOB elevation≥ 30°were all higher than before implementing QCC;the total score was higher than before imple-menting QCC ([18.32±3.14]vs [7.98 ±1 .12],P <0.05 );patients’compliance to HOB elevation was higher than before implementing QCC([96.00%,n=48]vs [44.00%,n=22],P <0.05);incidence of VAP was lower than before implementing QCC ([4.00%,n =2]vs [36.00%,n =18],P <0.05).Conclusion Implementation of QCC activities can effectively improve ICU nurses’recognition on knowledge about VAP and enhance patients’ compliance to HOB elevation,as well as reduce the incidence of VAP,it is helpful for improving healthcare-associat-ed infection management quality.

OBJECTIVE:To observe the effect of Xionggui dripping pills on sensitivity of baroreflex in selective sinoaortic denervated rats.METHODS:The dynamic blood pressures were monitored in selective sinoaortic denervated rats in waking stait,and the changes of baroreflex senitivity(BRS)were measured by modified SU Smyth method.RESULTS:Xionggui drip_ ping pill could improve BRS in sinus denervated rats.CONCLUSION:Since Xionggui dripping pill rectifies autonomic nerve function,it can protect target organs from damage in cardiovascular diseases.

Antiaging effects or powdered Nelumbo nucifera seed were studied on wistar rats by comparing thcir viscera/body, T lymphocyte, SOD, LPO, GSH-Px between fed animals and control. Results showed that there was obvious increase of T lymphocyte in thorax cortex between fed and control, whereas distinct disparity of other indexes can not be found. These results implied that powdered N.nucifera seed has some functions of enforcing immunity.

Objective To develop infant thermal container with forced protection circuit so as to ensure its security. Methods Temperature database was set in thermal container and Cygnal F005 was used as intelligent controller. The state of the sensor was judged by comparison precisely. Double temperature controller was adopted to ensure normal working temperature. When the container went wrong, it could automatically switch to protection circuit to keep the temperature for infant. Results With precise temperature control and steady working station, the new type thermal container for infant could provide a safe and comfortable condition with clean air and fitting temperature and humidity. Conclusion The container is steady, accurate, safe and convenient.

AIM: To investigate the inhibiting effect and mechanism of dimethylaminoethyl ginkgolide B mesylate on platelet aggregation and release function.METHODS: The effect of dimethylaminoethyl ginkgolide B mesylate on inhibiting PAF-induced platelet aggregation was measured by turbidimetry method through giving rabbits dimethylaminoethyl ginkgolide B mesylate at different final concentration via i.v.for 5 days.The release of Ca2 + from PAF-induced platelet in rabbits was assayed with fluorospectrophotometry and the contents of TXA2 and PGI2 were measured by radio-immunity method.RESULTS: Three groups of dimethylaminoethyl ginkgolide B mesylate (1.95,3.90,7.80 mg/kg) had significant effect on inhibiting PAF-induced platelet aggregation in rabbits (compared to normal,P

The efficacy of different kinds of insulin analogue administered by multiple subcutaneous injection or continuous insulin infusion was compared. The two forms of administration all can well control blood glucose. Continuous subcutaneous injection has better compliance.

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the drug resistance situation and influential factors of sputum culture positive tuberculosis patients in a specialized subject hospital. METHODS:The information of sputum culture positive tuberculosis inpatients were col-lected from Heze infectious disease hospital during Jan. 1st 2014 to Apr. 30th 2015;the results of drug sensitive test were analyzed retrospectively by using absolute concentration method. RESULTS:Among 259 patients,137 cases were drug-resistant(52.90%), among including 69(26.64%) mono-drug resistant cases,52(20.08%) poly-drug resistant cases,15(5.79%)multi-drug resistant cases and 1(0.39%)extensively drug resistant case;streptomycin (31.66%) and amikacin (15.44%) were drugs with the highest drug-resistant rate;there was no statistical significance in resistant rate between different genders and ages(P>0.05),the rate of drug resistance in first-treatment patients was 47.21%,and that of the re-treatment patients was 70.97%,the difference was statisti-cal significant(P<0.05). In addition to ethambutol and kanamycin,other all had mono-drug resistance,there were 27 combinations of poly-drug resistance and 9 combinations of multi-drug resistance. Logistic regression analysis showed that treatment history was a risk factor for drug-resistance,the risk of re-treatment patient was 2.734 times of first-treatment patients. CONCLUSIONS:Sputum culture positive tuberculosis inpatients patients have high drug resistance and complex spectrum in the hospital;we should pay great attention to the risk of drug resistance in senile patients and re-treatment patients,and rational use of streptomycin,amikacin,isoni-azid and capreomycin.

Objective To investigate the expressions of p15,p16,and p21 in skin of uygur patients with psoriasis and its significance in the development of psoriasis.Methods The expressions of p15,p16,and p21 were studied with immunohistochemical method in the Xinjiang Uygur psoriatic and normal Uygur skins.Results The positive expression rate of p16 gene was 12.5％ in skin lesions of patients with psoriasis Uygur,and 66.67％ in the normal group.The positive expressions of p15,and p21 genes in skin lesions of patients with psoriasis and healthy Uygur population were higher.Conclusions There is a significant correlation between the development of uygur psoriasis vulgaris and abnormal expression of p16.

Objective To evaluate systematically the long-term efficacy and prognostic factors of surgical treatment for gastric carcinoma with liver metastases (GCLM).Methods Database including Chinese Journal Full Text Database,Wan Fang Database,VIP database,Chinese Database of Literature on Biomedicine,Pubmed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,Medline,Springerlink and Wiley Online Library were searched with“胃癌,胃月中瘤,肝转移,手术治疗,外科手术,肝切除术,生存率,预后因素,gastric cancer,gastric carcinoma,hepatic,resection,hepatic resection,hepatectomy,liver metastases,hepatic metastases,surgery,surgical,survival,prognostic factors.The time for retrieving was from January 1995 to August 2015.Literatures on longterm efficacy and prognostic factors of radical resection of gastric carcinoma combined with hepatectomy for GCLM were retrieved,and data were analyzed and evaluated by 2 independent researchers.The count data were presented by the relative risk (RR) and 95％ confidence interval (95％ CI).The group rate was merged by the formula RR/(1 + RR),corresponding 95％ CI upper limit values were transferred by the formula RR/(1 + upper limit value RR),and the lower limit values were transferred by the formula RR/(1 + lower limit value RR).The comparison of group rates was done by indirect comparison,Z =difference between group rate/√∑ni=1 (standard error of group rate)2.The heterogeneity was analyzed by I2.Results Eighteen literatures of cross-sectional studies were retrieved and the total sample size was 410 patients.The results of Meta analysis:(1) the summary RR of 3-year overall survival of surgical patients with GCLM was 0.47 (95％ CI:0.37-0.60) while the summary 3-year overall survival rate was 32.0％ (95 ％ CI:0.27-0.38).(2) The summary RR of 5-year overall survival of surgical patients with GCLM was 0.35 (95％ CI:0.27-0.45),summary RR of 5-year overall survival rate was 25.9％ (95％ CI:0.21-0.31).(3)The summary RR of overall recurrence of surgical patients with GCLM was 2.95 (95％CI:2.23-3.88) while the summary overall recurrence rate was 74.7％ (95％CI:0.69-0.80).(4)The summary RR of remnant liver recurrence of surgical patients with GCLM was 1.39 (95％ CI:0.91-2.15) while the summary RR of remnant liver recurrence rate was 58.2％ (95％ CI:0.48-0.68).(5)The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and primary carcinoma serosal invasion was 32.9％ (95％ CI:0.23-0.44),and summary 5-year survival rate was 25.9％ (95％ CI:0.16-0.40).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and without primary carcinoma serosal invasion was 47.9％ summary 5-year survival rate was 32.9％ (95％ CI:0.25-0.41).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with solitary metastatic hepatic carcinoma was 47.6％ (95％ CI:0.40-0.56),and summary 5-year survival rate was 37.1％ (95 ％ CI:0.26-0.48).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with multiple metastatic hepatic carcinoma was 28.6％ (95％ CI:0.18-0.42),and summary 5-year survival rate was 15.3％ (95％ CI:0.07-0.30).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and R0 resection was 28.6％ (95 ％ CI:0.19-0.40),and summary 5-year survival rate was 20.0％ (95％ CI:0.12-0.32).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and without R0 resection was 0.0,and summary 5-year survival rate was 9.1％ (95 ％ CI:0.03-0.25).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and resection margin ＜ 10 mm was 13.0％ (95 ％ CI:0.05-0.30),and summary 5-year survival rate was 8.3 ％ (95 ％ CI:0.02-0.28).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and resection margin ≥ 10 mm was 34.6％ (95 ％ CI:0.21-0.52),and summary 5-year survival rate was 34.6％ (95％ CI:0.21-0.52).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and chemotherapy was 45.9％ (95％ CI:0.29-0.64),and summary 5-year survival rate was 29.1％ (95 ％ CI:0.19-0.42).The summary 3-year survival rate of surgical patients with GCLM and without chemotherapy was 38.7％ (95 ％ CI:0.26-0.53),and the summary 5-year survival rate was 25.4％ (95％ CI:0.18-0.35).The 3-year survival rate of surgical patients without primary carcinoma serosal invasion and with metachronous hepatic metastases,solitary metastatic hepatic carcinoma,R0 resection and resection margin ≥10 mm was statistically significantly higher than that of surgical patients with primary carcinoma serosal invasion,synchronous hepatic metastases,multiple metastatic hepatic carcinoma and resection margin ＜ 10 mm and without R0 resection (Z =2.118,1.999,3.01 8,5.295,2.183,P ＜ 0.05).The 5-year survival rate of surgical patients with solitary metastatic hepatic carcinoma and resection margin ≥ 10 mm was statistically significantly higher than that of surgical patients with multiple metastatic hepatic carcinoma and resection margin ＜ 10 mm (Z =4.528,2.819,P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Overall long-term efficacy of surgical patients with GCLM is not good enough,and there is the better prognosis in the surgical patients without primary carcinoma serosal invasion and with metachronous hepatic metastases,solitary metastatic hepatic carcinoma,R0 resection and resection margin≥ 10 mm.
