Journal of Interventional Radiology 2006;0(09):-
Along with the rapid development of interventional radiology, a simultaneous increase of the treatment was carried out for diseases of urinary system, including nephrostomy, balloon dilatation and stenting for uninary tract obstruction, calculus removing techniques, stenting for prostatic hypertrophy; TAE/TACE and ablation therapy for benign/ malignant tumors; angioplasty with balloon or stent for stenosis of renal artery or vein; embolotherapy for hemorrhagic diseases; interventional treatment for complications after renal transplatation, and so on. All the above mentioned techniques for urinary diseases have already provided with good results and futher research will bring a promising future.
2.Role of focal adhesion kinase in vascular endothelial cell migration
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 1989;0(06):-
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) that can localize indirectly to sites of clustering integrin family of heterodimeric receptors. As an important structure and signaling molecule in the adhesive complexes, which are large and stable referred as ‘focal adhesions’ or relatively small and transient within filopodia and lamellipodia named ‘focal complexes’, FAK is closely related with cell death, proliferation and migration. In this review, we discuss the function of FAK in the regulation of endothelial cell migration based on current data.

The incidence of venous thromboembolism after spinal cord injury is high, and its diagnosis and prevention received much attention in clinical research in recent years. Because of the special characteristics, the prevention of venous thrombosis should be combined with basic prevention, physical prevention and drug prevention. According to the different situations of venous thromboembolism in patients with spinal cord injury, the prevention methods need to adjust to carry out multidisciplinary comprehensive treatment.

Objective To evaluate the performance of high-fluorescence body fluid cell (HF-BF)mode on the platform Sysmex XE-5000 automated blood analyzer, and analyse its clinical application value in diagnosis of meningeal carcinomatosis. Methods E-valuated the performance of HF-BF by using precision test and methodology comparison test.Retrospectively analyzed 295 test re-sults of cerebrospinal fluid in Zhongshan Hospital Affiliated to Xiamen University from June 2010 to September 2012.Results HF-BF on the platform Sysmex XE-5000 automated blood analyzer had high precision, and exhibited a good consistency with cytolgical examination. The percentage of high-fluorescence body fluid cell(HF-BF%)in the meningeal carcinomatosis group was higher than that in other cerebral diseases groups, had statistically significant differences (P < 0.05 ).The cut-off value for HF-BF% was 4.3%,while the area under a receiver operating characteristic (ROC)curve (AUC)was 0.933,the sensitivity was 95.2%,and the specificity was 92.7%.When HF-BF% was over 4.3%,it was more likely to detect tumor cell in cerebrospinal fluid cytology.Con-clusion HF-BF is an effective reference index for the early diagnosis of meningeal carcinomatosis and has significant clinical appli-cation value.

AIM: To establish a quantitative measurement method of ECV-304 cell migration in a scratch wound model in vitro. METHODS: The method of ECV-304 cell scratch wound model was improved. The ECV-304 cell migration was measured quantitatively using a computer-assisted video microscopic method with image-analysis system. The effects of heparin and thrombospondin-1 on ECV-304 cell migration were observed in the scratch wound model in vitro. RESULTS: The average width and length of cell scratch wound was (0.95?0.08) mm and (51.20?3.40) mm respectively in 120 experiments. The peak of cell migration reached about 24 h after culture. The stimulated effect of heparin and inhibited effect of thrombospondin-1(TSP-1) on cell migration were observed. CONCLUSION: A quantitative measurement method of ECV-304 cell migration in vitro is established. The stimulated and inhibited effects on ECV-304 cell migration were proven respectively using this method.

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2010;16(3):212-213
ObjectiveTo investigate the characteristics of patients with flaccid paralysis after high spinal cord injury. Methods1014 cases with traumatic spinal cord injury were investigated. The patients with flaccid paralysis after high spinal cord injury (spinal fractures above the level of T10) were analyzed. Results6 patients were ananlyzed, including 5 males and 1 female, mean of age was (42±12). The neurological injury involved C7 to T8, and the fractures involved T3 to T10. 3 cases had the neurological deterioration upward at least 3 spinal segments after operation compared with the fractures. One case accomplicated with severe pain in the chest had the subacute progressive ascending myelopathy up to C7 level. MRI showed extensive atrophy of thoracic spinal cord 6 months later in 5 cases. ConclusionThe incidence of flaccid paralysis after high spinal cord injury was rare. It presents the extensive thoracic spinal cord atrophy, and the causes and mechanisms are not clear.

Objective To investigate the safety and feasibility of endovascular stent angioplasty in treating symptomatic stenosis of middle cerebral artery. Methods Endovascular angioplasty with coronary stents was performed in 27 patients with symptomatic stenosis of middle cerebral artery. The clinical results were reviewed and analyzed. Results Of the total 27 patients, successful placement of the coronary stents Was achieved in 24.Angiography immediately after the procedure showed that the stenotic degree of the diseased artery was markedly decreased from preoperative (80±19)%to postoperative (8±4)%,the improvement was very obvious.Percutaneous transcatheter angioplasty had to be employed in two cases because of the failure of stent placement.A mean follow-up period of 18 months was carried out.During the following up period no transient cerebral ischemia attack occurred in 25 patients and no newly-developed cerebral infarction in region fed by the responsible vessels occurred either.Re=irrigation cerebral hemorrhage was seen in one patient, which occurred three hours after the placement of the stent. In one case the placed stent fell off and immigrated into the siphon of internal carotid artery, and the displaced stent Was took out later with a catching apparatus. In another case re-stenosis occurred six months after the stenting. Conclusion Percutaneous endovaacular stent angioplasty is a safe and effective treatment for symptomatic stenosis of middle cerebral artery, although its long-term results need to be further evaluated.
