BACKGROUND: The psychological researches on undergraduates popularly believe that status of mental health of undergraduates can be worried.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between personality and mental health of undergraduates in Henan province, and analyze the feasible value of developing mental health education effectively.DESIGN: Sampling investigation.SETTING: Department of Health Administration, Henan Medical College for Staff and WorkersPARTICIPANTS: 1 128 students from 3 university and colleges in Henan province, whose majors were agriculture, medical science, sciences, literal arts, arts and physical education, etc., were enrolled randomly in this study between April and June 2001.METHODS: Group test was performed in 1 128 students from higher learning schools of Henan province test with Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) [including 4 dimensions: Extraversion (E), Neuroticism (N),Psychoticism (P), and Social Desirability (L)] and Symptom Checklist90(SCL-90) (90 items, 9 dimensions).MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: ① Comparison of personality characteristics between undergraduates and national norms. ② Classified comparison of personality characteristics of undergraduates. ③ Relationship between personality characteristics and mental health of undergraduates.RESULTS: Incomplete questionnaires were excluded, and 1 100 qualified questionnaires were collected. ① Comparison of personality between undergraduates and national norms: Scores on N and L of EPQ in male undergraduates were higher significantly than those of the national norms (5.47 ±3.13,4.53 ±3.11 ;4.99 ±2.47,4.50 ±2.59,P < 0.001 ).Scores on N, P and L of EPQ in female undergraduates were all higher remarkably than those of the national norms (2.97±1.71,2.68±1.82;5.68±3.08,4.97±2.96;5.32±2.46,4.74±2.48,P < 0.05-0.001). ②Classified comparison of personality in undergraduates: There were obvious differences on the 4 dimensions of EPQ in students of 6 different specialties (P < 0.05-0.001 ). Scores on P in agricultural students were the highest (3.44±1.97); Scores on E in students of physical education were the highest (8.27±2.45), while scores on N in literate arts students were highest (5.99±3.24). Male students'scores on L were lower markedly than female students'(4.99±2.47,5.32±2.46,P < 0.05).Scores on E in students from cities were lower significantly than those in students from countrysides (7.54±2.73,7.93±2.63,P < 0.05). Between lower grade (freshman year and sophomore year) and higher grade (junior year and senior year), only scores on L in the former were high er significantly than those in the latter (5.42±2.44,5.01±2.48,P < 0.01 ).Moreover, scores on E in student cadres were higher apparently thanthose in non-student cadres (8.42±2.61,7.42±2.68,P < 0.001). ③Relationship of personality and mental health in undergraduates: E and L of personality dimension in undergraduates had obviously negative correlation with every factor of SCL-90 (P < 0.01-0.001 )while N had significant positive correlation with every factor of SCL90 (P < 0.001),and P had significant positive correlation with somatization, hostility, phobic anxiety and paranoid ideation (P < 0.05-0.01 ).CONCLUSION: Personality of undergraduates have extremely close internal correlation with their mental health. Introversion, emotional instability and psychoticism of personality of undergraduates have side effects on their psychological health. There are some differences of personality characteristics in different specialty, sex, grade, native place (city or countryside),cadre or non-cadre students.
4.Multiple myeloma stem cells: Effect and significance of surface markers and signal transduction pathways
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2010;14(1):152-156
BACKGROUND: Cancer stem cell is a minority population of cancer cells in multiple myeloma possessing the properties of stem cells: self-renewal, multi-directional differentiation and long-term proliferation, which mediating disease initiation, relapse, progression and drug resistance.OBJECTIVE: To review characteristics of biology, phenotypic analyses, sorting and identification in clonogenic myeloma cells, the signaling pathways with in myeloma stem cells and the target therapy related.METHODS: Application of computer search Medline database (1999-01/2009-04), using "multiple myeloma stem cells, heterogeneity, phenotypic analysis, signaling pathways, target therapy" as key words; application of computer search CNKI database (1999-01/2009-04) and CBM Database (1999-01/2009-04) using "multiple myeloma stem cells, heterogeneity, stem cell separation and identification, signal transduction, targeted therapy as key words".RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: We collected for 126 literatures on the multiple myeloma stem cell-related, which include 30 Chinese articles and 96 English articles, excluding published earlier, repeated, and similar studies into 30 sub-standard literatures. Now widely recognized that multiple myeloma stem cells may be derived from normal stem cells, the accumulation of mutations and by gene mutation in regaining self-renewal capacity of progenitor cells or fully differentiated mature cells. Circulating clonotypic memory B-cell populations have self-renewal and multi-directional differentiation potential, which represent the cancer stem cells in multiple myeloma. The exact phenotype of multiple myeloma cancer stem cells has not been definitively established and researched remains. At present, both the side population cells and aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity assays were mainly capable of isolating multiple myeloma cancer stem cells. Which to possess self-renewal ability by Hedgehog ,Wnt and Notch signaling pathways. When these signal transduction pathways appear abnormal, leading to the occurrence of the tumor and tumor cell growth in non-controlled. Against the cancer stem cell targeted therapy is a new and important direction of selective therapeutic strategies. Cancer stem cell specific surface markers and signal transduction pathways can be used as anti-cancer stem cells to control tumor development targets.

Chinese Journal of Radiology 2011;45(3):270-273
ObjectiveTo study the feasibility and reasonability of low-dose multi-slice CT(MSCT)with three dimensional rendering of the tendons of foot and ankle. The statistical methods including ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis H was used. MethodsForty-five consecutive patients with fractures of foot and ankle were enrolled and evenly grouped into A (80 kV, 100 mAs), B(110 k V ,60 mAs) and C (130 kV,60 mAs).The MSCT scanning range was 6 slices of 1.0 mm. The CT value and standard deviation (SD) of the muscle and the CTDIvol were recorded. The image quality of volume rendering of the tendons was blindly evaluated.ResultsThe CT value of muscle in group A (71.6 ± 12.0) HU was significantly higher than group B [(66.8±9.2) HU, P=0.010]and C[(66. 1 ±7. 1) HU, P =0.004]. The SD average values were 11.9, 6. 1 and 7.0 HU for three groups, and there were significant differences among the three groups(F =37. 142, P=0. 0000). Group A had the highest SD value, group C had the lowest SD;CT1DIvol average value were (3.01 ± 0. 08) , (4. 63 ± 0. 11), (7.02 ± 0. 24) mGy respectively, which were significant different among the three groups (H =39. 185, P =0. 000). Group A had the lowest CTDIvol, while group C had the highest CTDIvol. Volume rendering of the tendons was evaluated as 2.3 ± 0. 5、3.7 ± 0. 5、4. 8 ±0. 4, and there were significant differences among the three groups (H = 72. 779, P = 0. 000). Group A had the worst VR images, while group C had the best VR images. All VR images in Group B were good for diagnosis. ConclusionThe protocol of 110 kV, 60 mAs, and 1 mm × 6 with three-dimensional volume rendering would be enough for evaluating the tendons of foot and ankle.
6.Oral cavity delivery system of unfractionated and low molecular weight heparin.
Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2010;45(10):1317-21
The difference between absorption of unfractionated heparin (UFH) and low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) after oral and oral cavity administration were studied respectively, and the compatible enhancer for oral cavity delivery system of both drugs was found. The LMWH and UFH films were prepared with two bioadhesive materials Carbopol and alginate sodium for oral cavity delivery. The activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) was used to determine LMWH and UFH in plasma after oral, oral cavity and sc administration in rats. The results show that the enhancer (Labrasol) can increase the absorption of LMWH and UFH through oral cavity in rats but not obviously. The oral cavity iontophoretic delivery system is a useful method to improve the absorption of LMWH and UFH through oral cavity mucosa.
