Objective To assess the value and feasibility of 64-slice spiral CT in diagnosis of coronary artery aneurysm in the follow-up of young children with previous Kawasaki disease. Methods Twelve boys (mean age 5.1 years) for follow-up (ranged 1.1 to 5.1 years) with known Kawasaki disease and coronary artery aneurysms underwent coronary CT angiography using 64-slice spiral CT.The number, location, shape and size of each coronary artery aneurysm were recorded and compared with those of echocardiography performed simutaneously. Results A total of 30 coronary artery aneurysms were identified with mean diameter of(7.5±3.8) mm,and mean maximum length of (12.4±9.1) mm.10 aneurysms were small in size,7 aneurysms were medium in size and 13 were giant aneurysms.Fourteen aneurysms were saccular, and the remaining 16 were fusiform. Among the aneurysms in left coronary artery,7 of them were located in the main branch,9 were located in the proximal segment of the anterior descending branch,4 were located at the middle segment of the anterior descending branch, and 2 were located in the circumflex branch.Among the aneurysms in right coronary artery,6 of them were located in the proximal segment,9 were located in the middle segment, and 4 were located at the distal segment.Nine of the aneurysms involved 2 segments of the coronary arteries, and one involved 3 segments.Six stenotic segments were found. Calcification was found in 5 aneurysms and 3 of them had thrombosis. Echocardiography failed to detect 8 aneurysms of small size and located in the middle or distal segments of the coronary arterys. Conclusion The 64-slice CT angiography proved valuable for monitoring young children with Kawasakidisease.

China Oncology 2015;(8):602-607
Background and purpose:Diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) is a non-invasive technique of breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). DWI is an alternative to dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI for differentiating malignant from benign lesions in breast screening or not. This study aimed to evaluate the potential role of DWI in differentiating malignant breast lesions from benign lesions.Methods:Seventy-four patients underwent digital mammography, DCE and DWI (49 patients’b-value of 0, 400, 600 and 800 s/mm2). The detectability, sensitivity and speciifcity of DWI and DCE were compared. Absolute apparent diffusion coefifcient (ADC) was compared with standardized ADC for quantitative analysis.Results:Sixty-four of 74 patients had positive pathologic findings (38 malignant, 26 benign). All of the malignant lesions were detected on DWI and DCE. The sensitivity of DWI was 83.33%, 90.00% and 93.33%, and the specificity was 85.91%, 76.19% and 72.72%, forb-value of 400, 600 and 800 s/mm2, respectively. The sensitivity and speciifcity of DCE were 86.61% and 90.48%. There was no signiifcant difference between absolute and standardized ADC in detecting breast cancer (P>0.05).Conclusion:DWI is an important complemented technique to DCE-MRI for differentiating malignant from benign lesions in breast MRI.

Journal of Southern Medical University 2012;32(9):1346-1349
OBJECTIVETo investigate the clinical value of serum total procollagen type 1 aminoterminal propeptide (total P1NP), cross-linked C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen (β-CTX) and 25(OH)D3 detection in evaluating the risks of fragile hip fracture in elderly patients with osteoporosis.
METHODSSerum levels of total P1NP, β-CTX and 25(OH)D3 was measured in 68 elderly osteoporotic patients with fragile hip fracture and 68 age- and gender-matched osteoporotic controls without fragile hip fracture. In both groups, bone mineral density (BMD) was detected with dual X-ray absorptiometry.
RESULTSThe serum levels of total P1NP and β-CTX were significantly higher and 25(OH)D3 level was significantly lower in fragile hip fracture group than in the control group (P<0.05), but the two groups showed no significant difference in lumbar or total hip BMD. Bivariate correlation analysis suggested that in fragile hip fracture group, serum 25(OH)D3 level was positively, while serum total P1NP and β-CTX levels were inversely correlated with lumbar and total hip BMD (P<0.05). In control group, 25(OH)D3 was not related to lumbar or total hip BMD, and serum total P1NP and β-CTX levels were inversely correlated with total hip BMD (P<0.05) but not related to lumbar BMD.
CONCLUSIONIn osteoporotic elderly patients with close BMD levels, high serum levels of total P1NP and β-CTX and low serum levels of 25(OH)D3 might independently indicate high fragile hip fracture risk, and detection of the three markers can help identify high-risk individuals.
