Chinese Journal of Geriatrics 2015;34(10):1078-1079
Objective To discuss the correlation of high homocysteine (Hcy) hypertension (Htype hypertension) with serum levels of uric acid (UA) and fibrinogen (FIB) in the elderly. Methods A total of 188 elderly in-and out-patients with essential hypertension were selected in our heart medicine outpatient and ward from April 2013 to April 2014.They were divided into H type hypertension group (n =136,Hey value≥ 10μmol/L) and primary hypertension group (n =52,Hcy value<10μmol/L).Another 160 elderly individuals without hypertension taking physical examination in our hospital during same period served as controls.General information were colleted, and the serum Hcy,UA and FIB were detected in all the patients to compare the differences among different groups.Logistic regression analysis was adopted to seek affecting factors of H-type hypertension patients. Results Compared with control group, there were statistical increases in the levels of UA and FIB for primary hypertension group and H-type hypertension group(P<0.01).Compared with primary hypertension group, there were statistical differences in the level of UA and FIB(P<0.01).The influence factors analysis showed that H-type hypertension was positively correlated with the serum level of UA and FIB(P<0.01).Conclusions H-type hypertension is closely associated with UA and FIB.It's good for management of hypertension patients to monitor UA and FIB levels.
3.Serum level of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein in a rabbit model of atherosclerosis following repeated long-term exposure to positive acceleration
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2012;16(7):1237-1240
BACKGROUND: Serum levels of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) can be used to predict cardiovascular injury.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the serum levels of hs-CRP in a rabbit model of atherosclerosis following repeated long-termexposure to positive acceleration and to predict the risk of cardiovascular injury.METHODS: Twenty-four New Zealand purebred rabbits were randomly divided into a positive acceleration group and a controlgroup. Rabbits in the positive acceleration group were exposed to +4 g rotation for 20 seconds with an acceleration of 1 g/s. Therotation interval was 5 minutes and totally three rotations were daily performed for 3 days per week. 0.5 g rotation was addedevery week, and by week 4, +6 g rotation was added, and the exposure lasted for 40 seconds.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Exposure to positive acceleration yielded significant effects on serum level of hs-CRP in rabbitswith atherosclerosis compared with before exposure (P < 0.01), but exposure time did not produce effects on serum level ofhs-CRP (P > 0.05). The interaction between exposure to positive acceleration and exposure time also did not produce significanteffects on serum level of hs-CRP (P > 0.05). Hyperplastic foam cells in the aortic tunica intima and the superficial layer of mediaincreased with the prolongation of exposure to positive acceleration. Repeated long-term exposure to positive acceleration maylead to a long-term high serum level of hs-CRP in rabbits.
4.Modern Literature Study on the Feature and Objectivization of Symptom Distribution of Asthenia Cold Syndrome
Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine 1993;0(06):-
Objective Through the statistical analysis on literature on asthenia cold syndrome in recent ten years,to comprehend the present situation of studies on the feature and objectivization of symptom distribution of asthenia cold syndrome. Methods Collect literature on asthenia cold syndrome from the periodicals of traditional Chinese medicine and integrated traditional and western medicine from the year 1996 to 2006.The described features and objective indices of symptom distribution of this syndrome were systematically analyzed and summarized. Results In the literature, the diagnostic criteria of asthenia cold syndrome were made mainly by the authors themselves, few referring to others',being different in the descriptions of symptom distribution. The researches on objectivization indices were scattered, most of which took the single or multiple index(es) as subject(s).Conclusion Cold limbs, tiredness, aversion to cold, and loose stools are possibly significant in the diagnosis of asthenia cold syndrome. The way of the studies on diagnostic criteria and its objectivization of asthenia cold syndrome need to be improved.
