ObjectiveTo compare the therapeutic efficacy of acupuncture plus medication versus using Chinese medication or acupuncture alone in treating perimenopausal syndrome.MethodNinety patients with perimenopausal syndrome were randomized into 3 groups, 30 in each group, to respectively receive acupuncture plus Chinese medication, Chinese medication alone, and acupuncture alone, totally for 3 months. Modified Kupperman index was adopted to evaluate therapeutic efficacy.ResultAfter intervention, the Kupperman scores decreased significantly in all three groups (P<0.01). The Kupperman score of the acupuncture-medication group was markedly superior to that ofthe medication group and acupuncture group (P<0.05).Conclusion Combination of acupuncture and medication can significantly improve the symptoms of perimenopausal syndrome, and is valuablein clinic.

Objective:To observe the therapeutic effects of Tongyushu capsules on dysmenorrhea. Methods:With the intravenous injection of oxytocin in rats, the influence of Tongyushu capsules on rat uterine smooth muscle was observed in vivo. With the intraper-itoneal injection of oxytocin to replicate the mouse model of dysmenorrhea, the effect of Tongyushu capsules on dysmenorrhea was ob-served. Using acetic acid writhing method, the effect of relieving pain Tongyushu capsules in mice was observed. By the method of ear swelling induced by xylene in mice, the anti-inflammatory effect of Tongyushu capsules was observed. By the method of ice water bath and subcutaneous injection of adrenaline, the influence of Tongyushu capsules on the acute blood stasis model in rats was observed. Results:Compared with those of the model group, the contraction of uterine smooth muscle of the groups treated with Tongyushu cap-sules at various dosage was decreased obviously (P<0. 05), the number of body torsion reaction induced by oxytocin and acetic acid in mice was obviously decreased in 15 min (P<0. 05), the degree of ear swelling in mice treated with Tongyushu capsules was signifi-cantly reduced (P<0. 05), and the whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematokrit, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and erythro-cyte electrophoresis time were significantly decreased (P<0. 05). Conclusion:Tongyushu capsules have obvious effects of the inhibi-tion of excessive contraction of uterine smooth muscle, dysmenorrhea alleviation, anti-inflammation and relieving pain, which show good therapeutic effect on dysmenorrhea.

This paper is to evaluate the biocompatibility and cytotoxicity of a new Ni-free Zr-based bulk metallic glass (BMG), Zr60.14 Cu22.31 Fe4.85 Al9.7 Ag3, by comparing it with conventional Ti6Al4V alloy. According to ISO 10993-5: 1999 and GB/T 16886.5-1997 standards, Zr60.14 Cu22.31 Fe4.85 Al9.7 Ag3, pure Zr and Ti6Al4V materials were extracted with surface area of sample/volume of medium ratio being 1 cm2/mL and 0.5 cm2/mL, respectively. The viabilities of MG-63 cells (Human osteosarcoma cell line) cultured in the BMG medium extracts for 1, 3 and 5 days were determined by CCK-8 assay. The cellular morphology of MG-63 cells cultured on the surface of samples for 3 days was tested through laser scanning confocal microscopy (LSCM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The relative growth rate (RGR) of MG-63 cells cultured in Zr60.14 Cu22.31 Fe4.85 Al9.7 Ag3 and pure Zr were both more than 85%, indicating that the cytotoxicity of BMG was relatively low and met the national biomedical material eligibility standard. There was insignificant difference in the morphology of MG-63 cells cultured in the BMG medium extracts and the control group through LSCM and SEM, which showed the BMG had excellent biological compatibility. The Zr-based bulk metallic glass Zr60.14 Cu22.31 Fe4.85 Al9.7 Ag3 and the conventional Ti6Al4V alloy both had no obvious cytotoxicity to MG-63 cells. These results provided evidence that the new Zr-based bulk metallic glass could be potential replacement material for the orthopedic surgical implant.

To investigate the security of semen biologically, 15 bull semen samples were collected (of which 5 exhibited clinical signs of Foot-and-mouth disease) and identified by RT-PCR and virus isolation. The results indicated that the semen of the infected bulls were contaminated by Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV), but FMDV was not detected in semen samples from those bulls not showing clinical signs of Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD). This is the first report of the presence of FMDV in bull semen due to natural infection in China. The analysis of the partial sequence of the VP1 gene showed that the virus strain isolated from semen has 97.9% identity with the virus isolated from vesicular liquid of infected bulls showing typical signs of FMD and belonged to the same gene sub-group.

Objective To explore the effect of exposure to noise of 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)on children's cochlear function. Methods We prospectively recruited 72 children who underwent cranial MRI examination at our hospital from May to November 2018;3M earplugs and sponge mats were used for hearing protection during MRI scanning.Noise level(dBA)of each MRI sequence was detected with a nonmagnetic microphone and a sound level meter.Distortion product otoacoustic emissions(DPOAE)test at 2-7 kHz was performed 24 hours before and 30 minutes after the MRI examination.Paired t-test or Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to analyze differences in DPOAE amplitude before and after the MRI examination. Results The average noise level of MRI measured in the study was(107.7±3.92)dBA.Compared with that before the MRI examination, the DPOAE amplitude(dB)changed little after the MRI examination;the range of amplitude differences in each age group was as follows:left ear(-0.24-1.10)and right ear(-0.24-0.74)in the 0-1 year-old group;left ear(-0.07-0.59)and right ear(-0.57-0.75)in the 2-5 year-old group;left ear(-0.36-0.44)and right ear(-0.30-0.57)in the 6-12 year-old group. No statistically significant difference was found(correction P>0.05).Conclusion No potential impact of 3.0T MRI noise on children's cochlear function was observed under routine hearing protection.
