Journal of Xi'an Jiaotong University(Medical Sciences) 1982;0(01):-
The frequency of peripheral lymphocyte subsets using monoclonal was studied in patients with viral myocarditis (MC). The percentage of T_8 positive cells was significantly lower in patients with MC of heart failure(MCHF) than that in patients with MC of arrhythmias and that in normal controls, whereas the T_4/T_8 ratio was significantly inereased in MCHF patients. At the same time, suppressive T cells (Ts) function in patients with MC was evaluated by shortlived assay. The Ts function was significantly reduced in MCHF patients, close correlation was found between the Ts function and the hemodynamic function in MCHF patients. Abnormal immunoreguiation may be of the important pathogenic factor in MCHF patients.

Neurohypophyses of six adult rats were observed under electron microscope toinvestigate the morphological features of pituicytes and their possible functionalsignificance. The results of morphological observation showed that the pituicytesmay be divided into 4 types, the two of which, astral pituicytes and ependymalpituicytes, obviously resemble to the neurogliocytes of central nervous system intheir morphological features. The third, dark pituicytes, was rich in mitochondria.Little was known about secretory pituicytes other than their presumable secretoryfunction suggested by the secretory granules present in their cytoplasm. The interstitial cisternae were the sites where the neurosecretory activities carriedon. The dilations of nerve fiber around the interstitial cisternae were rich in vesi-cles.It was substantiated that the pituicytes can participate in supporting andnourishing the nerve fibers, removing cell debris and may also serve a function oftransferring excitation, because of the presence of gap junction between pituicytes andynapselike contact between pituicyte and the nerve fiber.

Objective: To examine the microbial flora within the root canals with failed root canal therapy by PCR test, to identify detection rate of bacteria and the predominant bacteria species, and to determine the association of the various species with clinical features. Methods: Forty roots with failed root canal therapy were selected for this study. According to clinical features the roots were divided into three groups: pain, fistula and symptomless. After removal of the root filling material, the microbial samples were taken from the canal and detected by PCR test. Results: The microbial flora within root canals of teeth with failed root canal therapy was found to be mixed, six kinds of bacteria were detected. Enterococcus faecalis was the most commonly recovered bacteria species. Significant associations were observed between Prevotella nigrescens and pain, while dependablity was observed between Actinomyces israelii and fistula. Conclusion: The main cause of root canal treatment failure is the persistent microorganisms. The composition of bacteria in teeth with failed root canal therapy has its own specificity.

Objective To investigate the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen ( PCNA) and the level of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OhdG) in gastric carcinoma and their clinical significance. Methods PCNA protein expression of 63 tumor tissues , 36 paracancerous tissues and 9 chronic gastritis mucosa were ana-lyzed by immunohistochemistry and 8-O HdG of hydrolysates was determined by HPLC. Results The expression of PCNA and the level of 8-OHdG were upregulated in chronic gastrits mucosa adjacent tissues and gastric carci-noma raised gradually and these two metrics were associated with tumor differentiation and TNM stage. Conclu-sions Up-regulation of PCNA protein expression and 8-O HdG levels are observed in gastric carcinoma. Detec-tion of PCNA protein expression and 8-O HdG levels can be used to evaluate malignant biological behavior and prognosis of gastric cancer.

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Changqin No. 1 combined with Western therapy for severe traumatic brain injury and its effects on prognosis. Methods Totally 65 cases of severe traumatic brain injury were randomly divided into the treatment group (n=32) and the control group (n=33). The control group was treated with basic Western therapy (dehydration reduction of intracranial pressure, nutrition nerve, scavenging oxygen free radicals, improve cerebral circulation, nutritional support and maintain the internal environment stability, anti-infection, prevention and treatment of complications, hyperbaric oxygen). The treatment group was treated with Changqin No. 1 plus the basis of routine treatment, 1 dosage per day, 2 times stomach tube nasal feeding or blunt, for 14 d. One month after treatment, awake rate, awake time, the incidence of complications and MMSE in both groups were compared. Three months after treatment, the prognosis of two groups were compared by GOS. Results One month after treatment, the awake rate in treatment group was 77.4% (24/31) and 53.1% (17/32) in the control group, with statistical significance (χ2=4.089, P=0.043), and the death rate was 0. The awake time in the treatment group was significantly shorter than that of the control group (t=2.458, P=0.017). The incidence of pulmonary infection in the treatment group was lower than the control group (P=0.001). There was no statistical significance in urinary tract infection, epilepsy, liver and kidney dysfunction rate of the two groups (P>0.05). The number of awake case was 24 in the treatment group and 17 in the control group. The number of normal MMSE cognitive function was 3 in the treatment group and 2 in the control group, and the treatment group was better than the control group (Z=-2.205, P=0.027). Three months after treatment, the good prognosis was 58.08% (18/31) in the treatment group and 28.12%(9/32) in the control group, with statistical significance (χ2=5.763, P=0.016). Conclusion Changqin No. 1 combined with Western basic treatment can help patients with severe traumatic head injury awake early, reduce pulmonary infection complications, and improve the cognitive function of sober patients and improve the prognosis.
