Chinese Journal of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology 2001;0(04):-
Objective To summarize the experiences of ultrasonic liposuction in 204 cases, and to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of this technique. Methods The ultrasonic system (SILBERGEE E.U.A. TM ) and the liposuction equipment (HEROULES TM , American) were applied with the tumescent technique in 204 cases. Results Satisfactory rate was 90.69 %. After operation the highest sucked fat quantity was 6 800 ml, and the fewest quantity 250 ml, with an average of 1 907.6 ml for each case. Average volume of sucked fat in each position was 1 005.5 ml, which exceeded that by the traditional method. Advantages of this technique were larger fat quantity, obvious effect, less bleeding and pain, and safety. Disadvantages and complications were rough and uneven surface, accumulation of the liquid, bilateral asymmetry, slow wound healing, subcutaneous ecchymosis and hardening nodule, and even decreased blood pressure. The corresponding processing technique was recommended after liposuction. Conclusion This method is a simple and convenient, safe and reliable technique. It is suggested that multiple times and less portions of liposuction may be of benefit to patients.

We reported a simple and fast fluorescence system based on quantum dots ( QDs ) to detect glutamate dehydrogenase ( GLDH) , which inverted glutamate to α-ketogrutarate using NAD+ as a coenzyme. The fluorescence of CdTe QDs was quenched by nicotinamide adenine dimucleotide ( NAD+) through an electron transfer pathway, and the quencher NAD+ could be consumed by adding NAD+-dependent enzymes and corresponding substrates. Based on this principle we introduced GLDH to consume NAD+ in the QDs/NAD+ system, leading to the enhancement of the fluorescence intensity of QDs, which was in proportional to the amounts of GLDH added. Using this fluorescence system, we measured GLDH in a wide concentration range from 10 U/L to 1000 U/L, which was of significance in clinical diagnosis of different kinds of liver diseases.

Objective To observe the effect of transplanting the adipose-dervived stem cells(ADSCs) on free radical metabolism and immune function of rat aging model induced by D-galactose from fasiaology perspective;to explore a new method for anti-aging. Methods The ADSCs were cultured in vitro. Thirty male SD rats were randomly divided into 3 groups: normal control group(A), aging model group(B) and treat group(C). Ten rats in each group. Rats in B and C groups were injected D-galactose continually into make the sub-acute aging model rats. After 8-week injections of D-galactose;R3ats in group C were injected ADSCs(3×10~6/ml) through caudal vein. After 2-week transplantions of ADSCs, T-SOD, CuZn-SOD, MDA, NO, IL-2 and spleen index levels in serums of each group were detected and compared among the three groups. Results Compared with the A group, the SOD, NO, IL-2 level and spleen index in serum in group B decreased significantly, while the contents of MDA increased significantly. Compared with group B, the SOD, NO, IL-2 level and spleen index in serum in group C had been improved, and the contents of MDA decreased significantly. Conclusion Transplanting ADSCs can improve the antioxidant ability and strengthen the cellular immune function of aging rats.Further more, it can delay the ageing procedure induced by D-galactose in rats.

Background Retinopathy of prematurity is mainly due to retinal neovascularization. Objective This laboratory work was to evaluate the efficacy of different dosage of avastin for inhibiting retinal neovascularization. Methods Ninety 7-day-old clean C57BL/J6 mice were randomized into six groups as follows:air control group, hyperxia control group, hyperxia BSS group and avastin groups.C57BL/J6 mice in air control group were raised in regular air environments. The fifty mice were fed under the environment with 75% ±2% oxygen for 5 days to establish the retinal neovascularization models. The 1.25,2.50 and 5.00 g/L avastin (0.5 μl) were injected inteavtreally in forty-five mice models as low, moderate and high dosage avastin groups respectively, and 0.5 μl BSS was used at the same way in fifteen models as hyperxia BSS group. The mice were sacrificed in the 17-day-old age using excessive anesthesia method and the retina sections were prepared for the calculation of the numbers of vascular endothelial cell nuclei broken retinal inner membrane after hemotoxylin and eosin staining. The expression of CD34 in the retina was detected by immunochemistry. The morphology and distribution of retinal neovascular vessel in various groups were observed using retinal flat. The use of the animals followed the Regulations for the Administration of Affairs Concerning Experimental Animals by State Science and Technology Commission. Results The numbers of cell nuclei broken the inner limiting membrane was significant increased in the hyperxia group compared with the air control group( P<0.01 ),and those in difference doses of avastin were considerably reduced in comparison with hyperxia BSS group (P<0.01) and hyperxia group (P<0.01 ).The decrease of numbers of cell nuclei broken the inner limiting membrane was obvious in low dose of high dose of avastin compared with low dose of avastin (P<0.05 ).CD34 was positively expressed in retina internal membrane of hyperxia group.Retinal flat revealed the regular distribution and normal structure of retinal vessels in air control group and avastin groups. However, retinal and vitreous cavity neovascularization, leakage and enlarged non-perfusion regions in the perimeter of the retina were seen in hyperxia group and hyperxia BSS group. Conclusions Intravitreal injection of avastin can arrest retinal angiogenesis in oxygen-induced retinal neovascularization models in a dose-dependent manner.

Background With the changes of diet and living style, the diabetes has become the major diseases affecting human health.Diabetic cataract is a common complication of diabetes. Objective The present study was to investigate the difference of lens proteomics between diabetic cataract and age related cataract using two dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE) and mass spectrometry in order to postpone happening of diabetic cataract and offer the effective approach to the prevention and therapy of diabetic cataract. Methods The lenses were obtained from 8 diabetic patients and 12 age-related cataract patients during the surgery to extract the protein by lysis and centrifugation. The lens proteins were separated using immobilized pH gradients 2-DE.Image analysis was carried out using PDQuest Advanced-8.0.1 software package.Significant difference of the crystallines was identified by matrixassisted laser adsorption/ionization time of-flight-mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and peptide mass fingerprint combined with protein database. Results The maps of 2-DE showed that lens proteins of diabetic cataract and age related cataract were in the section of pH 5-9 with the relative molecular weight 14000-97000;while relative molecular weight of more abundant crystalline was localized at 20000-31000.About 3 differential protein spots were detected by image analysis software. Two crystallines,αB and βB1 crystallin, were identified using MALDI-TOF-MS.Conclusions Proteomic analysis of lens can be accomplished and the proteins can be well separated, moreover, differential proteins can be analyzed using 2-DE and mass spectrometry between diabetic cataract and age related cataract. These results indicate that αB and βB1 crystallin proteins accelerate the development of diabetic cataract. This technique offers a new avenue for clarity of lens proteins of diabetic cataract other than age related cataract.
