According to the requirements of ptobiotics, we have separated 13 strains of Lactobacillus from the content in gut of lactating piglet. Among them 3strains are L. acidophilus, one is L. casei, one is L. atenaforme and 8 strains are L. fermentum. They can resist 1.0% bile salt and the acidity of pH3.0, can inhibit pathogenic Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. They are safe and non-toxic to mice.

Background The pathogenesis of myopia is currently unclear. Studies showed that retinoic acid regulates the development of myopia. Whether IRBP, a retinoid transport proteins, participates in the development of myopia or not is unknown. Objective The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of interphotoreceptor retinoid-binding protein (IRBP) in the retina of guinea pig with lens-induced myopia and study the relationship between IRBP expression and experimental myopia. Methods Fifty guinea pigs were randomized into the normal controls(n=10) ,defocus Ⅰ group (n=20) and defocus Ⅱ group (n=20). Guinea pigs in the defocus Ⅰ groups wore -10. 00 D lenses on the right eyes for 14 days and the defocus Ⅱ group for 28 days. The left eyes of both defocus groups did not wear any lens served as self-control. The refraction diopter and axial length were measured before and after wearing lenses. The protein expression of IRBP in the retina was detected by immunohistochemisty and Western blot. RT-PCR was used to observe the level of IRBP mRNA in the retina. Result Compared with the control eyes,the right eyes in the defocus Ⅰ and Ⅱ groups developed to ( -5. 53±1.93) D and (-8.69±2.46) D, and the ocular axial length elongated to (0. 31±0. 15 ) mm and (0.41 ±0. 13 ) mm, showing statistically significant differences between them ( group Ⅰ: t= 12. 57,29.63 ,P＜0.05 ;group Ⅱ :t= 15.82,44.35 ,P＜0.05 ) ,and the degree of myopia was lower and axial length was shorter in group Ⅰ than the eyes of group Ⅱ ( P＜0.05 ). There was no statistically significant differences found between the left eyes of defocus group Ⅰ and defocus group Ⅱ or eyes of the control group in diopter and axial length (P＞0.05). Immunochemistry revealed that the mean gray value of IRBP protein expression was 165.62t4. 93 and 171.00±4. 25 in defocus Ⅰ group and defocus Ⅱ group and was significantly higher than that of the self-control eyes and the normal control group ( 156. 31±4.00,155.26 ±3.49 and 158.61 ±4. 58 ) ( P＜0.05 ). Western blot demonstrated that the expressios of IRBP protein were down-regulated and RT-PCR showed the IRBP mRNA level of IRBP was significantly lower in defocusIgroup and defocusⅡgroup,compared with the self-control eyes and the normal control group (P＜0. 05). Conclusion Expression of IRBP in guinea pig may play a role in lens-induced myopia.

Objective To explore the effect of early systemic phased exercise post mastectomy on the recovery of activities of daily living. Methods 100 patients who received modified radical mastectomy were assigned to the experimental group and control group with 50 patients in each group. They all accepted routine nursing, and the experimental group accepted early systemic phased exercise in addition. They were assessed with range of motion (ROM) of shoulder and modified Barthel Index (MBI). Results ROM of shoulder improved in 90% of the experimental group and 70% of the control group (P<0.05). MBI was (84.5±18.2) in the experimental group and (51.8±16.6) in control group (P<0.05) . Conclusion Early systemic phased exercises may promote the recovery of the affected arm for the patients post mastectomy.

Objective:To understand the responsiveness of community health service institutions in Henan Province. Methods:This research collected information through questionnaire investigations. The object of the investigations is key informants familiar with community health service institutions. Various dimensions of responsiveness within Henan province community health service institutions are determined through a multiple-input pecking order graph. The fuzzy comprehen-sive evaluation method is used to evaluate the level of responsiveness. Responsiveness inequality index is used to measure the distribution of reactions. Results:A total of 431 valid key informants were surveyed. The various dimensions of the questionnaire of Cronbach alpha coefficient was greater than 0. 623;the total scale of the Cronbach alpha coefficient was 0. 850;the correlation coefficient of each dimension of test-retest reliability were greater than 0. 907. The levels of responsive-ness and distribution index were 8. 33 and 0. 2744, respectively;each dimension by order of importance:timely attention>dignity>infrastructure>communication>confidentiality >social support >selective >autonomy. Approximately 50% of key informants considered that vulnerable groups in community health service institutions were sometimes or often treated unfairly. Conclusion:Key informants considered the responsiveness level of overall higher community health service institu-tions in Henan Province was high, and the distribution of responsiveness was relative equilibrium. However, there is a large shortage of infrastructure, privacy protection, doctor-patient communication, etc.

Objective To investigate the effects of ketamine on anoxia-reoxygenation(A/R)induced glutamate release from cerebral cortex neurons.Methods Primary cultured neurons obtained from cerebral cortex of fetal Wistar rats(16-18 d)were randomly divided into 3 groups:Ⅰcontrol group;ⅡA/R group andⅢketamine pretreatment+I/R group.The control group was not subjected to A/R while A/R group was exposed to anoxic air(95% N_2+5% CO_2)for 5 h followed by 24 h reoxygenation.In groupⅢdifferent doses of ketamine were added to the culture media before anoxia and the final ketamine concentrations were 1,20 and 100?mol?L~(-1) respectively.The extracellular glutamate concentration was detected at the end of 24 h reoxygenation.Results The extracellular glutamate concentration was significantly higher after 24 h reoxygenation in A/R group than in control group.Ketamine 20 and 100?mol?L~(-1) significantly inhibited glutamate release from the neurons induced by A/R in a dose-dependent manner.Conclusion Ketamine can inhibit glutamate release from neurons induced by A/R in a dose-dependent manner.

Objective To analyze the pregnant outcome of women with chronic hypertension,and to investigate the high risk factors associated with harmful maternal and perinatal prognosis.Methods Of the 14127 deliveries in Peking University First Hospital from Jan 2001 to Dec 2005,121 pregnant women with chronic hypertension were identified and divided into two groups:chronic hypertension with and without preeclampsia(group PE,64 cases;group N-PE,57 cases).The maternal and perinatal outcomes of the two groups and the high risk factors for adverse maternal and perinatal prognosis were analyzed.Results(1) The incidence of pregnancy with chronic hypertension was 0.86%(121/14127).(2)The incidences of placental abruption,pulmonary edema and retinopathy in groups PE and N-PE were 16%(10/64)vs 2% (1/57),11%(7/64)vs 0 and 41%(26/64)vs 16%(9/57,P

Objective To construct prokaryotic vector and express human herpes virus 8 (HHV8) small capsid protein open reading frame 65 (ORF65) in Escherichia coli.Methods DNA was extracted from BCB-1 cells (HHV8-positive but EBV-negative).HHV80RF65 coding sequence was amplified by PCR and inserted into the prokaryotic expression vector pThioHisA.Recombinant plasmid was transformed into E.coli BL21 to express fusion protein induced by IPTG.The expressed products were purified by affinity chromatography on Ni-NTA resin.The antigenieity and the specificity of the recombinant proteins was identified by Western blot with HHVS-positive serum samples.ELISA coating with the recombinant proteins was used to screen 568 serum samples,which were simultaneously detected by IFA kit(Biotrin) and ELISA kit(Qiagen).Results Gene sequencing showed that the target gene was identical with that of HHV8 standard species,the 31 500 fusion protein was found in SDS-PAGE.ELISA coating with the recombinant proteins had a good agreement with IFA kit(Biotrin) and ELISA kit(Qiagen).The detection for the clinical samples showed the ELISA kit was feasible,applicable and consistant.Conclusion The recombinant proteins showed good antigenicity,and it is valuable for further study on HHV8 specific antibody detection.

Objective To explore the effects of peripheral stem cell transplantation on extremely severe bone marrow form of acute radiation sickness.Methods One patient was radiated aecidently with the radiation dosage of 9～15 Gy and diagnosed as extremely severe bone marrow form of acute radiation sickness.Pretreatment was performed at 4th day after the accident and 3 days later,HLA- matched allogeneic stem cell transplantation on the patient was performed.Graft versus host disease (GVHD) was prevented with cyclosporin A (CsA) and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF).Results The haematopoiesis was recovered at 9th day after transplantation.At 11th day after transplantation, WBCs were increased to 14.74?10~9/L and returned to the normal levels subsequently,number of platelets risen to 51?10~9/L and hemaglobin was over 80 g/L.TRS-PCR and blood type dynamic detection testified that the donor's cells were stably implanted,the chromosome aberration and micro- nuclei disappeared after transplantation,and the patient's blood type changed into the donor's at 27th day after transplantation.But the radiation injury were still getting worse complicated with multiple infections,At 68th day after transplantation (75 days after the accident),the patient was died of mul- tiple organs failure.Conclusion Extremely severe bone marrow form of ARS can achieve hematopoie- sis recovery by allogeneic stem cell transplantation,but only hematopoiesis recovery can not cure the immunodefficiency and the radiation injury of the whole body.

AIM: To evaluate the main pharmacological effect of Wunzhonganwei Soft Capsule. METHODS: Analgesic effect was investigated by hot plate test and writhing test, anti-inflammation effect by auricular swelling test in mice and toe swelling test in rat, anti-diarrhea effect by diarrhea test induced by rhubarb, effect on gastric emptying by phenolsulfonphthalein empty test in mice and effect on small intestine propulsive test by charcol powder propulsive rate test. RESULTS: Wunzhonganwei Soft Capsule enhanced thermal stimulation threshold in mice, decreased the occurrence of writhing caused by glacial acetic acid in mice, inhabited xylene-induced auricular swelling in mice and carrageenan-induced toe swelling in rat, decreased the number of loose stools induced by rhubarb in mice., inhabited the function of gastric emptying induced by metoclopramide or in normal mice, antagonized the inhibitory effect of gastric emptying induced by atropine and inhabited small intestine propulsive movement induced by neostigmineor or in normal mice. CONCLUSION: Wunzhonganwei Soft Capsule has the effect of anti-inflammation, analgesia, antidiarrhea and adjusting the function of gastrointestinal movement.
