2.Biomarkers of deep venous thrombosis after total joint arthroplasty
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;19(17):2775-2781
BACKGROUND:Deep venous thrombosis is one of the common and fatal complications of total joint arthroplasty. For our clinical practice,we require duplex ultrasound and venography to evaluate the presence of deep venous thrombosis, but the diagnostic tools have several disadvantages.OBJECTIVE:To explore the appropriate and non-invasive biomarkers in the early diagnosis of deep venous thrombosis.METHODS:With the key words of Thrombosis,DVT,Biomarker,Total Joint Arthroplasty,D-dimer,Factor VIII,Thrombin Generation,Fibrin Monomer,P-selectin,Inflammatory Cytokines,Microparticles,Leukocyte Count,Genetic factors,MicroRNAs,a computer-based search was performed for articles published in PubMed database from January 1995 to March 2015.After the initial screening, the reserved articles were further detailed, summarized and concluded.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Totaly 66 articles were colected. This brief review is used to analyze the mechanism of the biomarkers which are classified into three levels as folow: detection of blood coagulation, inflammation markers and molecular biology and genetics-based biomarkers. The review also showed a great need of economic and safer biomarkers for the clinic and provided the theoretical basis to diagnose and predict deep venous thrombosis in an early stage.
3.Effect of warfarin combined with urokinase on prevention of deep venous thrombosis of lower extremity after hip replacement
Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2017;37(8):21-23
Objective To investigate the efficacy of warfarin combined with urokinase in the prevention of deep venous thrombosis after hip replacement. Methods 58 patients undergoing hip replacement in our hospital from October 2014 to October 2016 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, 29 cases in each group. The control group were treated with oral warfarin, the observation group was treated with warfarin combined with urokinase, two groups of patients were treated for 14d, the incidence of lower limb deep vein thrombosis, follow-up statistics of two groups of patients within three months after operation, the diameter and blood rheology changes before and after weeks of treatment of lower extremity. Results During the treatment and follow-up of 14d patients in the control group, the incidence of deep venous thrombosis was 20.67% significantly higher than the observation group 3.45% (P<0.05); after treatment, the two groups of patients with lower limb circumference difference was significantly reduced (P<0.05), and the patients in the observation group the thigh circumference, calf circumference difference was significantly less than the control group (P<0.05); after treatment, the two groups of patients with high blood viscosity, low blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and hematocrit were significantly lower than those before treatment (P<0.05), and the indicators of the observation group were significantly lower than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Warfarin combined with urokinase can effectively prevent the formation of deep vein thrombosis of lower extremity after hip replacement, improve the hypercoagulability of patients and reduce the circumference of the lower extremity, so it is worthy of clinical application.
4.Clinical application of solution focused approach in the functional gastrointestinal disorders
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2009;25(34):8-11
Objective To application of solution focused approach in the functional gastrointestinal disorders. Methods 64 hospitalized clients with functional gastrointestinal disorders were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group with 32 cases in each group. We applied the normal nursing intervention to the control group, while applied the solution focused approach to the observation group. The anxiety and depression score, score of coping way and gastrointestinal symptoms were evaluated using t test. Results The scores of anxiety and depression, coping way and gastrointestinal symptoms were better in the observation group than those in the control group. Conclusions Adoption of solution focused approach can relieve FGID sufferers'negative emotion, such as anxiety and depression, increase sufferers' coping capacity and symptoms, which demonstrate pivotal significance for rehabilitation of functional gastrointestinal disorders.
5.EFFECTS OF GESTATIONAL TOBACOO AND ALCOHOL EXPOSURE ON STATURE AND NEURAL DEVELOPMENT OF OFFSPRING IN MICE
Acta Nutrimenta Sinica 2004;0(05):-
Objective: To investigate the effect of prenatal tobacco and alcohol exposure on stature and neural development of offspring. Methods: Female mice were exposed to tobacco smoke and alcohol drink from D6 of pregnancy to parturition. The early physical development, neurobehavioral and antioxidative functions were measured in offspring mice. Results: Compared with control, offspring subjected to prenatal exposure showed significant reduced body and organ weights as well as reduced gestational body weight gain. It also resulted in remarkable prolonged neonatal reflexes and reduced motive, coordinative and locomotor activities. Step-down and Y-maze tests revealed marked destroyed memory and learning ability. Futhermore, MDA in offspring brain cytosol and mitochondria increased significantly and the activities of SOD, GSH-Px, CAT and GST were decreased. Conclusion: Prenatal tobacco and alcohol exposures interfere with the early physical and neural development in mice, probably related to decreased antioxidative functions.

Objective To assess the effectiveness of arthroscopic debridement techniques for osteoarthrosis of the elbow in nonathlete patients. Methods Twenty-six nonathlete patients with elbow osteoarthrosis were treated with arthroscopic debridement from January 1999 to January 2006.Of the 26 patients,23 were followed for 4~86 months (mean,23 months). All of the 23 patients had complained of pain and loss of elbow motion and 4 patients had symptoms of ulnar neuritis. The Mayo Elbow Performance Score was used as evaluation criteria of the efficacy. Results Twenty-three patients were followed for 4~86 months (mean, 23 months). Twenty elbows (87%) were not painful or were only mildly painful, and three (13%) were moderately painful. The mean arc of flexion-extension was improved from 99.6? (range, 65?~135?) preoperatively to 122.1? (range, 80?~150?) at the time of follow-up. According to the Mayo Elbow Performance Score, the result was excellent in 16 elbows, good in 4, and fair in 3, with a rate of excellent or good results of 87%. Symptoms of ulnar neuritis disappeared in the 3 patients and continued without aggravation in the remaining 1 patient. Fourteen patients were greatly satisfied with the results, 6 satisfied, and 3 unsatisfied, the satisfactory rate being 87%. One patient reported a delayed ulnar nerve symptoms after operation. Conclusions Arthroscopic debridement techniques for elbow osteoarthrosis in nonathlete patients can yield satisfactory pain relief, significant increase in the range of motion, and quick recovery.

Progress in Biochemistry and Biophysics 2006;0(06):-
Many kinds of small heat shock proteins (sHSPs) are able to prevent protein aggregation in stress, which show the ATP independent chaperone-like activity. The smallest protein HSP12.1 in sHSP family of the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans exhibits chaperone-like activities in vitro. It prevents protein aggregation in a certain extent when use insulin, ADH and lysozyme as the substrates, though it is not as efficient as the typical chaperones (such as HSP16.1 in C. elegans). By contrast, the other three sHSP12s (HSP12.2, HSP12.3 and HSP12.6), which have similar molecular masses and primary structure, appear devoid of in vitro chaperone-like activities. In addition, overexpressing HSP12.1 enhances cell thermotolerance of Escherichia coli. The survival rate of the HSP12.1 overexpressed cells is 4-fold higher than the control, yet whether it does the same function in C. elegans is still unknown. Results indicate that C-terminal region is not necessary for the chaperone-like activity of sHSPs, for HSP12.1 terminates a short C-terminal tail. N-terminal domain may play a relatively important role in the exhibition of chaperone-like activities, while ?-crystalline domain may also involve in this function.
