China Medical Equipment 2016;13(6):56-59
Objective:Total lesion glycolysis (TLG) on PET scans were calculated using custom-designed software, then we analyzed the prognostic utility of PET for patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC) undergoing radiation therapy. Methods: 33 patients with newly diagnosed LAPC who underwent 18F- FDG PET/CT scan for staging before radiation therapy were retrospectively included in this study. Patients were divided into two different groups by the median value of TLG. TLG lower than 55.3 was A group and TLG higher or equal to 55.3 was B group. TLG of tumor tissue were calculated from PET/CT images with the SUV cut-off value of 2.5. We analyzed the relationship between TLG and other clinical factors and prognosis in patients with pancreatic cancer by Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test. Results: By Log-rank univariate analysis showed that the differences in group A and group B related significantly (r=7.765,P=0.005). And their middle survival time was 15.5 months and 8 months respectively. GTV dose of the patients in two groups and CA19-9 before treatment were also statistically different (x2=7.162, x2=10.476;P=0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the TLG (P=0.009) were independent risk factors that prevented the long-term survival of the prognosis of patients in this group. Conclusion: The value of CA19-9 and GTV dose before treatment were the risk factors of radiotherapy for patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. The parameters of TLG were independent prognostic factors. TLG have a certain clinical value in predicting the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer, and can guide clinical diagnosis and treatment planning, and extend the lifespan of patients with pancreatic cancer.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 1986;0(04):-
TNP-conjugated spleen adherent cells (SAC) from normal BALB/c mice could stimulate lymph-node T lymphocytes (LNT) of 1, 3, 5-trinitrobenzene (TNCB) -primed syngeneic mice to proliferate in vitro. The proliferative response was suppressed when phorbol myristic acetate.(PMA) was present in the culture. SAC pretreated with PMA also suppressed markedly the response. Furthermore, PMA was shown to inhibit interleukin-1 (IL-1) production and/or secretion by macrophages in response to LPS stimulation in vitro. Therefore, the suppressive effect of PMA on antigen presentation seems to be due to its inhibitory effect on IL-1 production and/or secretion.

Journal of Leukemia & Lymphoma 2008;17(4):248-251
Objective To find the possible relationship between defects in the FA/BRCA pathway of genomic maintenance and potential pathogenesis of acute myeloid leukaemia. Methods Twenty-five AML cell lines derived from diverse subtypes of AML were screened to investigate for possible defects in FA,BRCA patllway. Results The absence of FANCN protein in two cell lines,THP-1 and M-07e were observed, which was correlated with the results of MMC-induced G2 arrest, growth inhibition and chromosomal breakage test in both cell lines. But no gene aberrance in these two cell lines by MLPA test and DNA sequencing were found. Conclusion There is a possible relationship between defects in the FA/BRCA Dathway and potentialpathogenesis of acute myeloid leukaemia.A disturbance of theFA pathwaymay represent an early event in the development of this type of leukaemia.

Objective:To investigate the prognostic value of18F-FDG PET/CT by calculating maximal standard uptake values(SUVmax) in patients with pancreatic carcinoma of TOMO knife radiotherapy. Methods:Sixty five cases of pancreatic carcinoma who underwent18F-FDG PET/CT scan before TOMO radiotherapy were reviewed retrospectively, the18F-FDG uptake of primary tumors was measured with the SUVmax. SUVmax<3.0 was divided into group A(32 cases), SUVmax≥3.0 was divided into group B(33 cases), the relationship of SUVmax and other clinical factors with the survival of the 65 patients were analyzed. Results:By Log-rank univariate analysis showed that the differences in group A(SUVmax<3.0) and group B(SUVmax≥3.0) in patiengts with middle survival time was statistically significant(15.5:7 months)atP=0.001. TNM stages(x2=6.625,P<0.010), CA19-9(x2=10.298,P<0.001) and GTV dose(x2=8.054, P<0.005) were also statistically different at (P<0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that the SUVmax and preoperative serum CA19-9 level were independent risk factors that prevent the long-term survival of the prognosis of patients in this group. Conclusion: SUVmax has a certain clinical value in predicting the prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer, and can guide clinical diagnosis and treatment planning, and extend the lifespan of patients with pancreatic carcinoma.

Objective To understand the current economical operation of public hospitals in Hubei province and its effect on their public welfare performance. Methods To collect data in field survey and to analyze the current economic situation of such hospitals in the province based on relevant statistics. Results Financial revenue and expenditure of these hospitals keep rising and achieving a balance in general; for the insufficient government financial subsidy, 90% of the revenue of such hospitals come from their medical services and drugs sold; the per capita revenue of these public hospitals maintains a yearly rising trend; their asset-liability ratio was relatively high. Conclusions The public welfare performance of these hospitals tends to be impeded by the reform on the macro economic system and health policy changes, on top of the attraction of economic interests. Improving the government subsidy mechanism for public hospitals and standardizing the financial management mechanism of public hospitals.

Objective To evaluate the mental health of medical workers, and develop an EAP suitable for heahhcare sector. Methods A 1-year EAP was implemented in a hospital in Beijing, in which SF-36 and JSS scales were used to study the health-related quality of life and job satisfaction of these workers. Results Work pressure is found to be the main source of pressure for medical workers, accounting for 63.7%. Scores of the group receiving EAP service are found to be significantly higher (P<0.01) in all dimensions (excepting work nature and supervisor dimension) of both SF-36 and JSS. Conclusions Medical workers are exposed to high pressure of work, having strong need for EAP service as result. EAP is an effective means to maintain mental health and improve quality of life and job performance, if applied widely.
