Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2006;12(6):547-548
ObjectiveTo investigate the encountered life events in patients with tuberculosis within 1 year before the attack.MethodsThe encountered life events within 1 year before the attack were investigated in 85 patients with tuberculosis, the life event frequency (LEF) and life event intensity (LEI) were calculated respectively, and the life events were compared with those within 1 year in 55 healthy subjects.Results71 cases (83.5%) of the 85 patients with tuberculosis had encountered different life events within 1 year before the attack, which was significantly different from that in the control group (9 cases, 16.4%) (χ2=12.351,P<0.01 ). The LEF, negative LEF, average LEI, average negative LEI in the tuberculosis group before the attack were obviously higher than those in the control group (P<0.05~0.01), but there were no significant differences in the positive LEF and average positive LEI between the two groups (P>0.05).ConclusionThe encountered life events are closely correlated with primary tuberculosis, so more mental cares should be paid to the patients.

Microbiology 1992;0(03):-
One marine actinomycete strain FIM02-523 was isolated from marine soil in the East China Sea in Fujian Province. The fermentation broth of strain FIM02-523 exhibited potent antitumor activities. Strain FIM02-523 grew well on most media tested, the colonies were orange to dark brown but lacked aerial hy-phae, no diffusible pigments were observed. Phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic, morphological analyses, physiological and biochemical characteristics demonstrated that strain FIM02-523 belong to the genus Mi-cromonospora, may be a strain of the type species Micromonospora chalcea.

Objective To evaluate the influence of atopy on exhaled nitric oxide in chronic persistent asthmatic children. Methods A total of 52 chronic persistent asthmatic children who completed FeNO measurements and skin prick testing were enrolled. Patients were divided into non-atopic group and atopic group by skin prick testing results, and subdivided into non-allergic rhinitis and rhinitis group according to whether combined with allergic rhinitis. At the same time 78 healthy children were chosen as control group. Moreover, 32 chronic persistent asthmatic children who completed FeNO measurements twice interval of three months were enrolled. Results The FeNO level was signiifcantly different among the atopic group (n=40), the non-atopic group (n=12) and the control group (H=33.29, P=0.000);The FeNO level was signiifcantly higher in the atopic group than that in the non-atopic group (P<0.05). And the FeNO level were signiifcantly different among the rhinitis group (n=41), the non-rhinitis group (n=11) and the control group (H=30.63, P=0.000). The FeNO level was signiifcantly higher in the rhinitis group than that in the control group (P<0.05), however there were no difference between the rhinitis group and the non-rhinitis group(P>0.05).There were no correlations between FeNO levels of chronic persistent asthmatic children and the wheal diameter of house dust mites or dust mites (r=2.05, P=0.135;r=1.58, P=0.312). Moreover, the FeNO level was signiifcantly lower after 3 months ICS treatment (z=-2.05, P=0.041). Conclusions Atopy had major inlfuence on the FeNO level of chronic persistent asthmatic children, and the FeNO level declined with the theatment of ICS.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 1985;0(06):-
We have constructed an immunotoxin(Ng76-TCS),which was composed of a monoclonalantibody directed against human melanoma and trichosanthin(TCS)——a single chain ribosomeinactivating protein. The cultured human melanoma cells(M21)were inhibited effectively byNg 76-TCS.The cytotoxicity of Ng76-TCS to M21 cells was 2,000-fold higher than that of free TCS and Ng76 mixture.A conjugate, which was prepared with normal mice immunoglobulinand TCS(NIgG-TCS),was 160-fold less cytotoxic to M21 cells.Meanwhile Ng76-TCS was125-fold less cytotoxic to nontarget cells Hela. These results showed that the immunotoxinNg76-TCS was a potent and specific anti-human melanoma agent.

Objective: To observe the therapeutic efficacy of acupoint application at different groups of acupoints in treating bronchial asthma in remission stage. Methods:A total of 120 patients with bronchial asthma in remission stage were recruited and divided by the random number table method into acupoint application group 1, acupoint application group 2 and acupoint application group 3, with 40 cases in each group. In all the three groups, Tiantu (CV 22), Dazhui (GV 14) and Feishu (BL 13) were selected, with Dingchuan (EX-B 1) added in acupoint application group 1, Shenshu (BL 23) added in acupoint application group 2, and Gaohuang (BL 43) added in acupoint application group 3. Before intervention, one month and 3 months after intervention, clinical symptoms, peak expiratory flow (PEF) andforced expiratory volume in 1 second percentage of predicted value (FEV1%) of the three groups were observed, and their clinical efficacies were evaluated. Results: Comparing the therapeutic efficacy regarding traditional Chinese medicine symptoms and signs, after 1-month treatment, the total effective rate was 87.5% in acupoint application group 1, versus 62.5% in acupoint application group 2 and 55.0% in acupoint application group 3, and the between-group differences were statistically significant. After 3-month treatment, the total effective rate was 95.0% in acupoint application group 1, versus 70.0% in acupoint application group 2 and 65.0% in acupoint application group 3, and the between-group differences were statistically significant. After intervention, the three groups all showed significant improvements in pulmonary function with statistical significance; among the three groups, the improvement in acupoint application group 1 was more significant than that in the other two groups. Conclusion: Tiantu (CV 22), Dazhui (GV 14) and Feishu (BL 13) as basic prescription plus Dingchuan (EX-B 1) can improve symptoms of bronchial asthma in remission stage, and it works better in improving pulmonary function than the basic prescription plus Shenshu (BL 23) or Gaohuang (BL 43).

Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2002;8(9):513-515
ObjectiveTo investigate the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegenerative diseases and the pharmacological effects of Shen-wu Capsule.MethodsSD rats were divided into 6 groups with 10 rats each:model group was developed by peritoneal injection of 3-nitropropionic acid(3-NPA) 20mg/kg, once every another day. Haloferidoli was used as the positive drug (given to positive control group from 10μg/100g/day to 100μg/100g/day, during modeling). Low dose of Shen-wu Capsule is 0.45g/kg; middle dose of Shen-wu Capsule is 0.9g/kg; high dose of Shen-wu Capsule is 1.8g/kg (once a day for 25days). The rats in normal control group were peritoneally injected with saline and were fed with water. The open field test was used to test the space recognition ability and excitability of CNS of rats. The climbing test was used to test strength of muscles. The content of dopamine(DA) and it's metabolite dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (DOPAC),5-HT in stratium of all groups were detected by high performance liquid chromatograph (HPLC-ECD).ResultsThe 3-NPA model rats showed decrease of activity, rigidity and stagger just like clinical patients with Huntington's diseases. In open field test all indexes of 3-NPA model rats are decreased (P<0.05), while Shen-wu Capsule low dose and high dose can improve all the indexes. There is no difference in strength of muscles among all groups. The content of DA,DOPAC and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) were distinctly decreased in 3-NPA model rats(P<0.01); rats in three groups of Shen-wu Capsule and positive drug control groups showed increased content of these neurotransmitter(P<0.01). Conclusions Rats injected with 3-NPA can mimic the abnormal behaviors and changes of neurotransmitter in stratium of Huntington's patients, Shen-wu Capsule can ameliorate the behavior of model animals and improve the content of DA,DOPAC and 5-HT in stratium.
