Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 1987;0(01):-
Liver fibrosis can be caused by chronic liver injury arising from various etiological factors. The activation of the hepatic stellate cell(HSC) is the central event in liver fibrosis, the apoptosis of which was the initiating factor for the reversal process. The apoptosis of HSC is very complicated. The signaling pathways lack of enough research in regulating and controlling and activating HSC's apoptosis. The apoptosis pathways as known currently mainly include mitochondrial pathway, death receptor pathway and non-death receptor pathway.Based on these signaling pathways, selectively inducing cell death of activated HSCs is becoming the new antifibrotic treatment. This review focuses on the new progress of HSC's apoptosis signaling pathways, and summarizes the drugs that have the effect of inducing HSC apoptosis.

Objective:To study new dosage form of Bingpeng powder referring to oversea patent. Methods: To disperse Bingpeng powder, adhesive and viscosity builders (such as gelatin, carboxymethylcellulose, hypromellose or carbomer), nonionic emulsifier (gluceryl monostearate) and white vaseline into liquid paraffin, stir to attain paste. The formulation was screened by adhesive strength, shape keeping characteristic and water asorbing value. Results: The better formulation: Bingpeng powder 5.0g, hypromellose 21.0g, carbomer 14g, gluceryl monostearate 3.0g, white vaseline 7.0g, liquid paraffin to 100.0g; the paste getting rabbits' artificial ulcers healed more quickly than powder does. Conclusion: The paste is applied more expediently and more effective for oral ulcer.

Objective To investigate the effect of Danzhijiangtang capsule on serum, fat in type 2 diabetic rats. Methods The model of type 2 diabetes mellitus rats were established by injecting small does streptozotocin(STZ)into abdomen and feeding high sucrose-fat diet. All the rats were divided randomly into five groups. The level of blood glucose, serum insulin, insulin sensitivity index, blood fat(triglyceride, cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein,low-density lipoprotein),free fatty acid after treated were examined. Results Danzhijiangtang capsule could decrease the level of blood fat. Conclusion Danzhijiangtang capsule could improve the blood fat in type 2 diabetic rats.

AIM: To investigate the influence of diethylstilbestrol on metabolism and antioxidative functions in old castrated female rats in order to elucidate the physiological and pharmacological effects of estrogen therapy in climacteric. METHODS: The old female rats had been castrated, liver drug-metabolizing enzyme activities and antioxidative indexes were measured in rats treated with and without diethylstilbestrol (100 ?g?kg -1 , qd?40 d, ig). RESULTS: The activities of microsomal NADPH-Cyt C reductase, benzphetamine N-demethylase, aminopyrine N-demethylase, glutathione S-transferase, and the contents of microsomal cytochrome P450, cytochrome b_5 and homogenate glutathione remarkable decreased in the liver of castrated female rats. Meanwhile, an increase of liver malondialdehyde content was also observed. Treatment with diethylstilbestrol could reverse the changes of above indices except for cytochrome b_5. CONCLUSION: The decreased metabolism and antioxidative functions are related to the lower level of estrogen in old castrated female rats. Estrogen plays a significant role in keeping normal metabolism and antioxidative capacities of the liver.

Objective To study the role of glucocorticoid (GC) in treating patients with cyto- megalovirus (CMV) pneumonia following renal transplantation. Methods There were 75 cases CMV pneumonia following renal transplantation during one month (3 cases),2-6 months (64 cases) and more than 6 months (8 cases). All patients were subjected to the comprehensive treatments including anti-virus therapy. In 47 cases,GC was given (GC group),and in the rest 28 cases,GC was not administered (non-GC group). Results In GC group,40 cases (85.1%) were cured and there were 7 deaths (14.9%).In non-GC group,17 cases (60.7%) were cured and there were 11 deaths (39.3%).There was significant difference between two groups (P

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of albumin bound paclitaxel in the treatment of retreatment advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods Retreatment NSCLC patients failed from first line regimen or beyond were treated with albumin bound paclitaxel weekly by intravenous dose of 130 mg/m2 on day 1 and day 8,with a 21-day cycle.Efficacy was evaluated every two cycles and side effects were observed during each cycle. Results None of 69 patients achieved complete remission (CR),15 patients (21.7 %) achieved partial remission (PR),and 23 patients (33.4 %) achieved stable disease (SD).Objective response rate (ORR) was 21.7 %,disease control rate (DCR) was 55.1%,and progress free survival (PFS) time was 3.8 months.Efficacy was not correlated with gender, age, histology and lines of previous treatment (all P > 0.05).Main adverse reactions included neutropenia, alopccia and neurotoxicity, which were all tolerable. Conclusion Weekly albumin bound paclitaxel is effective and well tolerated in the treatment of retreatment advanced NSCLC,which can be considered as the second line or beyond regimen.

In order to determine the challenge dose of pigeon paramyxovirus type 1 (PPMV-1) inactivated vaccine (S-1 strain). The virus titer of PPMV-1 E5 allantoic fluid (Chuansha strain) was determined using SPF chicken embryos in this research. After inoculating 30-day-old and 120-day-old pigeons with low-HI antibody against PPMV-1 (HI antibody < or =2) with different doses of PPMV-1 (Chuansha strain), the clinical symptoms and histopathological lesions of the challenged pigeons were examined. The results showed that the minimal lethal dose (MLD) of PPMV-1 (Chuansha strain) was 102.5 ELD50, so we determined that 10(5.5) ELD50, which was 1000 times the MLD, could be taken as the challenge dose in the vaccine efficacy test for PPMV-1 inactivated vaccine (S-1 strain).

OBJECTIVEThis study aims to do the following: construct a three-dimensional finite element model of an labial inverted impacted maxillary central incisor and its supporting tissues, analyze stress distribution in the periodontal tissue when various tractions are exerted, and provide references for treating impacted maxillary central incisor.
METHODSA three-dimensional finite element model oflabial inverted impacted maxillary central incisor and its periodontal tissues was established using Mimics 10.01 and Ansys 14.0 software based on original cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) data. Various traction values (20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70 g) were exerted on the incisal margin in the direction perpendicular to the impacted tooth. Different Von Mises stress values were determined.
RESULTSStress distribution on the periodontal ligament increased with traction size. When 30 g traction was exerted on the labial inverted impacted maxillary central incisor, the Von Mises stress was 24 919.0 Pa, which was within the range of the optimum force and close to its maximum value.
CONCLUSIONThe optimum traction for early orthodontic treatment of labial inverted impacted maxillary central incisor is nearly 30 g.
