Slowly growing mycobacteria (SGM ) are distributed in the environment ,for example in soil and dirty water . SGM can cause human infections ,especially lung diseases .In this article ,first and second line antituberculous agents were ex‐amined in order to identify the optimum drugs for the treatment of SGM disorders .The fewest SGM in our study (4/34) were susceptible to isoniazid .Rifampicin (13/34) and ethambutol (14/34) were effective against similar numbers of strains .Ofloxa‐cin (23/34) ,kanamycin (26/34 ) , tobramycin (26/34 ) and streptomycin (27/34 ) were active against most of the tested strains .Ciprofloxacin (31/34) ,levofloxacin (31/34) ,amikacin (33/34) and capreomycin (33/34) showed an excellent range of activity .Moxifloxacin (34/34) showed the widest range of activity against the SGM species .Among the tested SGM spe‐cies ,M .simiae and M .af ricanum were resistant to the highest number of drugs .M .szulgai and M .duvalii were susceptible to all the first and second line antituberculous agents tested .Overall ,the second‐line antituberculous agents were good candi‐dates for the treatment of infection by SGM species and can be widely used in the therapy of SGM diseases .

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of calcium(Ca)and magnesium(Mg)infusions in pre- vention of oxaliplatin-induced acute neurotoxicity.Methods Fourty-two patients with advanced colorectal carcinoma were eligible for the study:21 were assigned to the Ca/Mg ann and 21 to the control arm.The Ca/ Mg arm and the control arm were comparable for patients'characteristics.Chemotherapy regimen were al- most the same in both arms.Chemotherapy regimen consisted of oxaliplatin 130 mg/m~2 on day 1,given as a 3-hour infusion in 500 ml of 5% glucose,concurrent with rahitrexed 3 mg/m~2 as a 15-minute intravenous (Ⅳ)infusion or calcium folinate(CF)200 mg?m~(-2)?d~(-1),days 1～5,5-Fluorouracil(5-Fu)500 mg?m~(-2)?d~(-1),days 1～5.Therapy was repeated every 3 weeks.The treatment consisted of Ca gluconate and Mg sulfate,1 g each, delivered i.v.over 15 min just before the oxaliplatin infusion and repeated at the same dose after the comple- tion of the oxaliplatin infusion.A specific neurotoxicity scale was used for oxaliplatin-related neurotoxicity. Results Ten patients(47.62%)had acute neurotoxicity in the Ca/Mg arm compared with 19 patients (90.48%)in the control arm(P0.05).Conclusion Ca/Mg infusions seem to reduce incidence and intensity of oxaliplatin-induced acute neurotoxicity,and they do not reduce the clinical activity of oxaliplatin,but dosage and administration schedule could be optimized.

AIM: To investigate the protective effect of ischemic-preconditioning under the mild hypothermia against small intestine ischemia-reperfusion injury in rats and its mechanism. METHODS: Thirty-two rats were randomized into 4 groups (8 rats in each group): sham operated group (Sham), ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) group, ischemic-preconditioning (IP) group, mild hypothermia ischemic-preconditioning (MHIP) group. The wet/dry ratio, Ca 2+ -Mg 2+ -ATPase activity in intestine tissue, the malondialdehyde (MDA) content, activities of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and total antioxdase (TAX) in blood were determined. Ultrastructure, Bcl-2 and Bax expression in intestinal mucosa tissue were also observed. Objective To investigate the relationship between KRAS,NRAS and BRAF gene mutations and clinicopathological parameters in patients with colorectal carcinoma (CRC).Methods By using TagMan real-time PCR method KRAS/NRAS/BRAF hotspot mutations were detected in 260 cases of CRC.The associations between KRAS/NRAS/BRAF mutation status and clinical pathological characteristics were analysed in different groups divided by gender,age,tumor size,tumor differentiation.Results (1) The KRAS hotspot mutations were G12D,G12A,G12R,G12C,G12V,G12S in codon 12 and G13 C,G13D in codon 13.They were identified in 43.1％ CRC.KRAS mutation rate was higher in females than in males (P =0.05) and the mutation rate in patients ≥ 60 years was significantly higher than that in patients ＜ 60 years(P =0.008).The incidence of metastasis and mortality were higher in KRAS mutant than in KRAS wild type (P =0.004,P =0.037).(2)The NRAS hotspot mutations were in codon1 2,13 and 61.They were identified in 4.6％ CRC.NRAS mutation rate was significantly higher in patients ≥ 60 years and well-differentiated tumors (P =0.032,P =0.042).(3) The mutation rate of BRAF V600E in CRC patients was 4.6％.BRAF V600E mutation rate was significantly higher in patients ≥60 years,with distant metastases and tumors ＞ 5 cm (P =0.032,P =0.026,P =0.038).The incidence of metastasis and rucurrence and mortality were higher in BRAF mutant (P =0.030,P =0.002,P =0.007).Conclusions In CRC patients,KRAS mutations correlate with demographic factors,metastasis and mortality,NRAS mutations correlate with age and tumor differentiation,while BRAF mutation correlate with age,tumor size,metastasis,recurrence and mortality.

Objective To investigate the value of whole-liver MR perfusion imaging(MRPI)for early detection of coagulative necrosis after percutaneous ethanol injection(PEI)in rabbit liver VX_2 tumors. Methods VX_2 tumor cell suspension was inoculated into rabbit liver and liver VX_2 tumors[diameter of (2.6?0.6)cm]were induced in 10 male rabbits.MR T_1 WI and T_2 WI were performed to monitor the development of the liver tumor on the 2~(nd)and 3~(rd)week after inoculation.Whole-liver MRPI was performed in the 10 rabbits with liver VX_2 tumors before and 6 days after PEI therapy(1.0 ml ethanol was injected into the most enhanced tumor region under CT guiding).Signal intensity(SI)values of untreated tumor parts and treated areas 6 days after PEI were recorded respectively.The steepest slope(SS)and bolus arrival time (TO)of SI-time curves were measured.The t-Student test was used in statistical analysis of the data.Results There was significant difference in MRPI data between untreated tumor parts[TO:(16.0?1.2)s and SS: 38.9?2.2]and treated areas[TO:(50.8?5.9)s and SS:6.0?1.2]6 days after PEI(t was 15.8 and -39.6 respectively,P

Objective To explore the influence of G4 cyberknife treatment of large hepatocellular car-cinoma on liver function,and to evaluate its treatment safety.Methods Sixty-three large liver cancer patients treated with routine G4 cyberknife treatment were retrospectively analyzed,and then statistical analysis of the difference in liver function before and after treatment was conducted.Results After G4 cyberknife treatment of 1 2 months,the levels of ALT,ALP,TBIL,PA were respectively 23.00 U /L,1 1 1 .00 U /L,1 3.70 μmol/L, (81 .87 ±1 3.94)%.Compared with the levels before treatment [28.00 U /L,32.00 U /L,1 1 .30 μmol/L, (86.07 ±1 4.07)%],there were no signi-ficant differences found (Z =-1 .677,P =0.094;Z =-0.504, P =0.61 4;Z =-1 .945,P =0.053;t =1 .271 ,P =0.21 3).The level of ambumin was (34.84 ±4.75)g/L at 1 2 months after treatment,which decreased and the difference compared with the level before treatment [(37.45 ±4.1 4)g/L]was significant (t =3.357,P =0.002).The Child-Pugh grade was 5.80 ±1 .1 7 respectively at the time points of 1 2 months after treatment,and no significant difference was found compared with the Child-Pugh grade before treatment (5.48 ±0.81 ,t =-1 .668,P =0.1 06).Conclusion G4 cyberknife treatment does not cause liver injury.It is safe and reliable in large liver cancer treatment.So,it is worth widely clinical popularizing.

Objective To investigate the knowledge of nursing emergency project among college nurse students,and therefore to give supports to enhance the education of nursing emergency project in the clinical teaching.Methods 75 nurse students from a Grade Ⅲ hospital of Beijing were asked to answer a self-designed knowledge questionnaire about nursing emergency project.Their scores on the questionnaire were analyzed by independent sample t-test to compare the difference of the nurse students with different education degree.Results Of all the 75 questionnaires,96％ was valid.All the college nurse students thought it was necessary to learn the nursing emergency project.In the part of the project,nearly 60％ questions of fire,power outage,the common risks and infectious diseases,the right answer rate was 50％ or less.The tocal score for emergency plan knowledge(39.00 ± 2.716)points,college students score of(38.67 ± 2.474)points,the comparative difference no satistical significance(t =0.545,P =0.588).Conclusions Most nurse students are lack of knowledge of nursing emergency project,which should be learned.Thus the clinical teaching can strengthen the education of the sense of crisis,coping ability in the nurse students.
