Objective To evaluate the visual results, surgical technique and safety of secondary intraocular lens (IOL) implantation in aphakic eyes following vitrectomy and lensectomy for complicated ocular trauma or retinal detachment. [WT5”HZ]Methods The clinical records of 32 cases (32 eyes),received these surgeries during November 1996 and December 1999,were reviewed retrospectively.During the secondary operation, intraocular infusion through the pars plana was performend and the type of IOL was chosen based on the integrity of lens capsule. [WT5”HZ]Results The study included 30 eyes suffering from trauma (foreign bodies in 15 eyes, penetrating injury with traumatic endophthalmitis and with vitreous hemorrhage in 6 eyes respectively, blunt trauma with lens dislocation in 3 eyes),and 2 eyes with primary retinal detachment. Those eyes all received vitrectomy,lensectomy,and/or removal of foreign bodies and corneal suture. The interval of two operations ranged from 1 to 16 months with an average of 6.8?3.7 months.Posterior chamber IOL was implanted in the ciliary sulcus in 25 eyes with a whole or 2/3 of lens capsule, trans scleral suture fixation of IOL in 5 eyes, anterior chamber IOL and IOL with artificial iris in one eye respectively.Silicone oil was removed in 5 eyes during the secondary operation.Post operative visual improvement was achieved in 29 eyes.Main complications were corneal edema and low intraocular pressure after operation. [WT5”HZ]Conclusion Intraocular infusion and proper IOL implantation during the secondary operation following vitrectomy can provide selected aphakic eyes with better visual recovery.

Objective:
To investigate the prevalence of osteoporosis (OP) and its influencing factors among people aged 60 years and above, so as to provide insights into OP prevention and treatment among the elderly.
Methods:
People aged 60 years and above who underwent physical examinations were selected from Hangzhou First People's Hospital from January to October 2023. Demographic information, lifestyle and physical examination data were collected through field surveys and hospital information systems. Bone density was measured by dual-energy X-ray densitometer, and OP was diagnosed with reference to the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Osteoporosis (2022). Factors affecting the OP were identified using a multivariable logistic regression model.
Results:
A total of 482 participants were included and had a mean age of (69.10±6.52) years. There were 217 men (45.02%) and 265 women (54.98%). The prevalence of OP was 43.36%. Multivariable logistic regression analysis identified gender (women, OR=3.791, 95%CI: 1.726-8.314), age (70 to 79 years, OR=1.260, 95%CI: 1.018-1.559; 80 years and above, OR=3.083, 95%CI: 1.546-6.147), body mass index (≥24 kg/m2, OR=0.358, 95%CI: 0.205-0.626), family history of fracture (OR=1.475, 95%CI: 1.073-2.030), diabetes (OR=1.626, 95%CI: 1.109-2.382), regular exercise (OR=0.457, 95%CI: 0.287-0.726), intake of milk products (OR=0.511, 95%CI: 0.335-0.780), intake of calcium supplements (OR=0.473, 95%CI: 0.287-0.778) and vitamin D deficiency (OR=2.132, 95%CI: 1.309-3.473) as factors affecting OP.
Conclusion
The prevalence of OP is associated with gender, age, body mass index, family history of fracture, diabetes, diet and vitamin D deficiency.

Batch and continuous fermentation were adopted to investigate the effect of specific growth rate and amino acid components on RNA accumulation in Candida tropicalis ATCC 20408 in fermentation medium ( FM), yeast peptone dextrose medium (YPD), molasses fermentation medium ( MFM) and FM without corn steep liquor. The data showed that obvious differences in intracellular RNA accumulation were observed at different cell growth phases in bath fermentation prosess, and RNA level reached 11. 8% (g-RNA /g-DCW) during exponential phase, and only 6.9% during stationary phases. It was also found that intracellular RNA accumulation increased with the increase of specific growth rate in continue fermentation prosess, and the highest RNA level reached 15. 6% with the glucose conversion rate of 42. 8% at the dilution rate of 0. 5 h-1. Furthermore, the data showed that RNA lever was notably increased in batch fermentation process when amino acids or peptone was added into the fermentation medium containing no corn steep liquor. Taken together, it was reported for the first time that specific growth rate and amino acid components plays a leading role on the intracellular RNA accumulation in C. tropica lis, and specific growth rate is more important.

Objective To build a Monte Carlo dose verification tool for IMRT Plan by implanting an irradiation source model into DPM code and to extend the ability of DPM to calculate any incident angles and irregular-inhomogeneous fields. Methods The virtual source and the energy spectrum unfolded from the accelerator measurement data were used,in combination with optimized intensity maps,to calculate the dose distribution of the irradiation irregular-inhomogeneous field. The irradiation source model of accelerator was substituted by a grid-based surface source. The contour and the intensity distribution of the surface source were optimized by IMRT.The dose calculation was realized by combining the position of the emitter with the fluence map from the IMRT plan. The weight of the emitter was decided by the grid intensity. The direction of the emitter was decided by the combination of the virtual source and the emitting position. The weighted fraction of the emitter was also combined with the flux grid intensity based on the particle transport model of DPM code. Results The accuracy of calculation was verified by comparing with the measured data.It was illustrated that the differences were acceptable (< 2% inside the field,2-3 mm in the penumbra). The dose calculation of irregular field by DPM simulation was also compared with that of FSPB (Finite Size Pencil Beam). The passing rate of gamma analysis was 95.1% for peripheral lung cancer. The regular field and the irregular rotational field were all within permissible range of error. The calculation time of regular fields were less than 2 h,and that of the test of peripheral lung cancer was 160 min. Conclusions The adapted DPM code with its simple irradiation source model is faster than that with classical Monte Carlo procedure. Its computational accuracy and speed satisfy the clinical requiremcnt, and it can be useful as a Monte Carlo dose verification tool for IMRT Plan.
